- In this video my friend Joel asked if I wanted to do an unboxing of his new gadget, the Tzumi Dream Vision VR Headset. I said sure, bring it over!
I had a hard time getting it to work properly with my iphone 6S+ and found that it worked better on Android devices with built in gyroscopes. In the end, it was a cool product for the price.

Why aren't you telling your viewers it requires a phone with Gyroscope. I notice this when I first started watching these videos the person is always using a Samsung phone.

Apple works too. They give you a chord to switch to regular headphone jack. Don’t know why everyone wants a headphone jack I love not having one. The lighting port works just as good!!!
What ancient piece of crap do you have? I thought all smart phones have a gyro built in. Sorry time to throw that iphone 3g away.

I am having trouble getting the lenses lined up so that I can actually see the vr stuff instead of feeling like I am inside a Dr. Strange battle. Can anyone help? I have adjusted the spacing every which way possible but I just can't seem to get them to be clear.

bought it, tried it, sucks. there is an honest review. Google cardboard does not recognize the QR code included with the goggles so it is going back. getting my $20 back and buying something useful like a case of beer

My G4 Doesn't have magnometer sensor that"s the problem but
my dad's Galaxy Note 3 work well with this VR.
So you need a phone that has Gyroscope and Magnometer .

My case keeps popping open and phone falls out. Using android Turbo 2 and wife's android Maxx 2 without their cases. I'm taking it back. Also some apps play upside down. If i turn phone around where video is right side up, the head phone jack is on the wrong side. Very frustrating.
Justin Scott Won't stay shut, I have a razor thin phone the htc one m8 and it looks like the phone in the instructions diagram is also an htc. I have to return this product, Its not worth my phone falling out and breaking. my phone is razor thin no reason it should not stay closed.

Knowing that I only paid $17.88 at Walmart for this, I knew from reading about different VR glasses that I may need to adjust some things. The plastic that holds the head strap is very flimsy. One of the teeth broke off on mine within 5 minutes. The strap kept slipping off and when I tried to put it back on, the tooth or prong broke. No big deal. I tied the straps on with rubber bands to the remaining prong. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. I wish the adapter was on the other side or that it came with a longer cord, because it is on the wrong side for some applications. On those, I just watch without the earbuds. Even without the case on my phone, the magnets aren't strong enough to hold and the case pops open....solution...I put a rubberband around the whole thing to hold it shut. Even with all these tweeks, the VR experience is incredible. Your experience is only as good as the VR app that you are watching. Some are amazing. Some are poorly videoed and are hard to watch. Some of the 3D is amazing. Not sure that the magnet on the side works for games. Over all, this is a great price for getting into the VR game. My husband is amazed!
I was only able to use it after the video was made and thought it was cool. I noticed though that it was hard for me to dial in the focus 100%, but is most likely due to my left eye not being as great as my right. It sucks that you had to MacGyver yours with rubber bands though. The trigger worked on my friends cell phone Samsung Galaxy S6 (or S7, can't remember) but didn't work with my iPhone 6s Plus.
I'm having trouble with my magnetic button, it won't do anything to my phone.

The magnetic washer button doesn't work if your phone is put in the opposite way/upside down.

Unfortunately - we don't support the QR code (it doesn't really add any special functionality). Just make sure you've got your app set up for regular Cardboard mode. :)
Dream Vision VR how do you toggle things with the headset? You can look at something but the "loading" animation never works so you have to end up taking your phone out and tapping on things
Hi there Kyle! Often functionality will depend on the developer of the app - some support the toggle function and others do not. You'll want to check compatibility for each individual app. Hope this helps!
I got mine for $10 at Wal-Mart. I have a question though. What is that washer on the side for and if I lose it, will any old washer of the same size work? I was messing with it when I had the headset on and it fell off and I can't find it anywhere! I was watching the Insidious 3 app when I lost it. So I think it might have fallen into the further.
Can you adjust focus of the eyes independently of one another? For folks who are nearsighted to different degrees in each eye...?
Devohoang H yes you can but for me I wasn't able to get my left eye adjusted properly. I seriously need glasses :(
Thanks for the quick reply! I have a gear vr and you can't adjust the eyes separately and that sucks for me because I'd rather use without my glasses. My eyes are different so being able to adjust them independently of one another is big factor.

why are the picture so close to your eyes and why is it a split screen instead of a full screen
based on the several comments below, and testing it with the iphone 6s Plus, it seems this headset's magnetic switch does not work with iPhones. although, there is one person below that states it can work if you switch your phone around. As far as the magnet ring coming off, we were able to just put it back on. If that doesn't work for you, then I'm not sure how to fix it. Thank you all for watching this video.

Big concern/question. am loking at one of these. How can u control your phone to go from app to game to app? with no controls do u really have tk pul the phone out, run an app, and quickly jam it in as the app loads?
does it require a controller? i got the VR headset from a yard sale and i think we forgot a controller for it.
Nice viedo, but younarr forgetting the jack adapter for the iphone 7. It's a very small cable that could fit inside as well.

The separation between the eyes is a lot larger on mine, and i dont have that line to tell me where to put the phone. Im taking mine back. Too cheap. Should have actual buttons

R4Y I contacted tzumi by e-mail and their response is that consumers dont need the code and that they are currently working on a cardboard code. I felt pretty pushed to the side with the "dear John" e-mail. I am currently contemplating on making a return and just investing in something less cost effective with better quality.

You do not need a QR code to use the unit. You need to download google cardboard in order for other VR apps to work on your phone. We understand that a QR code is helpful and we are in the process creating one at this time but in the meantime google cardboard will work.

Won't work with my Iphone 6sPlus... Thought it just wasn't syncing correctly but from the comments here I now think it just doesn't work. If I start the app manually, I can view it but with NO interaction - can't use any interaction apps, just viewing which is a little boring. None of the buttons work! Taking it back.
i hate how the fact when you go the dream vision web to download the appps it does not let you download due to your phone to being cap can not load within
Actually 7+ you have a adapter that goes with it so you can use it.
The video says "once you get the auxillary plug plugged in." Is this for sound to the ear buds? where is it? nothing is coming out of my earbuds
never mind - found it in the space for the phone - had thought it was a clamp to keep the door closed. Doesn't work with iphone 7 because no headphone jack. Gotta go bluetooth

I got it to work with the Google Pixel. Had to use a sudden / quick slide of the magnet (didn't use the headset connector). Need a good connection for Google Earth or it will look janky. Still testing...
The straps came out as soon as i opened it and they won’t go back in properly.

Why does the TH-cam vr mode doesn't react to the magnet ring?
I've tried it with my Samsung Galaxy Core: Prime, but that doesn't seem to want to fit. I got it for Christmas, but I'm still hoping I get to use it at some point or another.

Jami Hays yup I just had the same issue behind the foarm whare your phone sits are 6 tiny screws feel for the holes and cut the foam unscrew it and re glue the magnet mine did the same think today I just fixed it
paul savage am having the same problem, but with mine the magnet works for some vr apps and use to work for youtube cardboard but now it wont. are there any fixes for this? i wanna atleat try to fix this without having to rip open my device.

My 6 inch Zte zmax pro wont work on this , it's the button placement on the phone that sucks , if the headphone hole is to the right & I close it , it holds the volume down button or it holds the power off button & turns it off....if the headphone hole is to the left , & I close it the screen turns off & when I open & take my phone out it turns back on

It seems like the only way to use the google cardboard app with this vr system is to scan the headset QR code. This code helps the app calibrate video images to match the brand's lense style. If anyone finds this QR code please share the link!

I got mine today. I started with an onn VR headset and it was SHITE total garbage. This was so much better.
I still experience some motion sickness but way less than the onn and the strap and cushioning is a lot softer. earbuds are awful but better than nothing it literally cost the same as the onn. It also came with a controller.
Lots of reviews say it don work too good. I definately recommend downloading Full dive VR on google play.
Also button doesnt really work well and adjustable lenses are kinda loose so I stuck it with sticky tac

works on my motorola turbo2..the only down sides I dont like about it,mainly the apps makes your battery heat up..builds up heat..these would need a small cooling fan in it to keep your phone cools off..got mine at walmart sale for 10.00..

mac diaz it splits the view between both eyes so not sure how that would work. I can ask my friend who owns the headset and vet back to you
mac diaz Closing one eye is the best way, I can think of. Maybe in time, they will have a way...but as of now, I know of none.
My magnetic switch cane off and the magnetic on the inside that is supposed to keep the switch in place is connected to the magnet that holds the front door closed. Anybody know how to fix it

I couldn't find the QR code for this specific device. I tried the one at cdn.instructables.com/F4H/6LPS/IIVZS4VW/F4H6LPSIIVZS4VW.SQUARE2.jpg and that seems to work okay in the Cardboard app. The images look better than with the default setting.
