The burning is a little too slow at the moment. The current estimation to burn down to 10 Billion LUNC is 91 years. There's the idea being worked on now to peg USTC and swap burn with LUNC, the hope is this will burn through it quicker. Here's hoping.

LUNC blockchain leadership is a mess at the moment. It's about to add another zero. It's currently rudderless and the developers are just positioning themselves for a paycheck and not advancing the blockchain or attracting new projects.
