- Hi, I’m a street photographer ASMR roleplay. Do you speak English? I think your style is really cool, can I take some photographs of you?
I hadn’t really intended to make this video, but I’ve been a bit unwell following a covid booster, so this seemed like an easier one to film than the one I had planned. But I think it mighta kinda turned into a very weird and sad roleplay lol! Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

Jim is a funny guy. The social media trend of “Hi, Im a photographer, can I take your photo” always made me laugh the most! I never thought it would be weaved into ASMR 😂

Something about repeating the lines of being a street photographer and thinking you're beautiful gave this a very surreal and tingly feeling. Like something out of the twilight zone or a fever dream

There's a manga I read years ago (Fruits Basket), and it had a lesson tucked amongst the story that has always stuck with me. It told a story of a sad little onigiri (rice ball) who lived in a world of other onigiri. All the onigiri were made with umeboshi (delicious, pickled/salted sour plums). But when the little onigiri looked in the mirror, it only saw a plain rice ball. "There's nothing special about me, I'm a plain, boring rice ball who is lesser than everyone else." But the little onigiri didn't know that it actually had an umeboshi on its back! A friend had to tell the onigiri about its umeboshi, because it couldn't see it. So, the moral is, be free in telling people the good that you see in them. Many times it's hard to see your own good qualities, and the ways that you contribute to making the world a special place. Because EVERYONE does contribute, but sometimes it’s hard to see.
I think that’s why positive affirmation ASMR is well-loved by people. I’m sorry that so many people have ulterior motives when praising or complimenting, and in turn the recipients become conditioned to expect ulterior motives….

I find it oddly beautiful that you can find someone else's journal in the comments and it just shows how different and interesting we all are

That bit of music each time the predates each shot of the camera is so unique and memorable. Truly what struck me about this video. Amid all of the typical genius flair with every Jim ASMR production.

I'm really curious to this guys story. Is this a way of him coping with loss? He can see ghosts and aware of the circumstances? Or could he be starting to get early Alzheimer's and the photos are his way of making sure he doesn't forget things? No matter what his story I really enjoyed spending time with this character and would gladly be his friend.
Maybe he’s just doesn’t know how his camera works but doesn’t want to admit it so he keeps complimenting you so you don’t notice he’s beefing it
At first I was like, “Surely you’re more of a portraiture photographer if you’re posing people in the street,” but then I saw the photos and I understood. Very nice, very surreal, humorous and meaningful.
wonderfully original. a quietly, genuinely affecting story- a dark and gentle dream.
A delicate, flickering dream. Whether I'm a street, a spirit, a hallucination or something else entirely, I did make for some beautiful pictures & I did feel more beautiful. (I'm particularly fond of the seagull photobomb...) And the sounds & sad, quirky music were just perfect. There's a certain hush to it all that brought to mind the angel/library scene in 'Wings of Desire.'

Wow, I was truly captivated by how this was going to turn out. I had quite a few different scenarios of the hidden plot line going through my mind, and if I’m honest, there’s still some mystery for me. This felt very poignant and tragic in a way, but as always, so beautifully and creatively done. Very cool 😅
The fact that you're exactly (aesthetically) the twin of an ex of mine but the calm, cultured, positive version of him, I swear, it adds that something that got me smiling throughout the whole video
I know this is based off a meme but I imagine this a ghost wandering the streets looking for people who are able to see him and spend time with him. Which is why his memory isn’t great, his camera is older, you visited the graveyard, etc.
Yup, a ghost photographing ghosts, all unaware - maaaaybe not the photographer. 🙃👻
Weird, strange, sad and exactly what I needed. My overactive imagination already has the story written for this video. Honestly, the overall ambiance is very relaxing from the street noise, the leather gloves, the camera, the soft-spoken conversation, and the binaural music (did you write that?) all blended together for a lovely ASMR experience. It may not have been what you intended but it was what I needed so thank you.

I started watching ASMR videos 6 years ago. It's become apart of my everyday life! I watch/listen to ASMR from morning till night and it's wonderful to see how ASMR content creators grow and create the amazing art that is ASMR. I don't think I can get through my week without watching both your Bureaucratic Dystopian ASMR and the Camp Queen B&B Hotel Check-in ASMR. Those are my all time favorite ASMR videos. Thank you for all the time and effort you put forth on your videos. I love them all so so much!

@@chantelanderson8159 Oh, uhh. I’m probably not the best person to ask. I’m in the process of dropping out. I’m not sure how long it would take as I had only just changed my major this semester. I personally found all school hard, lol.

There’s just something about the aesthetics of old Polaroid photos, they have a wonderful softness to them. Maybe it’s the size, the blurry or not quite focus of the pics… or maybe it’s just the nostalgia of them.
The not so instant and imperfect gratification of artistic expression.
I miss that.
I’ve never been called beautiful. That’s new- also btw your like a god at the acting,editing,script writing, and the costumes are always AMAZING! 🙂💚

4 minutes in, mending while watching this, I had draped the garment over my arms, held it above my head, and was looking through the fabric to find the tear. I found it and lowered my arms, just in time for the character to say "do that again", and mimic my gesture.
This channel showed randomly on my feed, what a gift! Amazing story. The music is incredible and I wish it could be longer ☮ to all

The stories are Amazingly Original (partly because it allows to viewer to create their own story within Jim's framework).
I get tingles from both the positive attention and the subtle feeling of something sinister just below the surface.
This one made me think that the one he's talking to *might* be a person he targeted and is now "alive" only in his head.
Fascinatingly comforting and slightly disturbing at the same time.

As someone who is learning photography and him trying to explain what each lens and stuff is for both pained and charmed me ☺️
Also I like to think the story of this video is that the photographer is close enough to death to see ghosts. He doesn't have any place to go, so he tries to earn money taking photos with an old out of date camera found in probably the same trash heap we visted. We however are just a ghost, but the photographer's quirky additude has charmed us enough to continue being his muse wherever he may go. It's bittersweet...
This was funny and sad and I'm confused buuuut I still loved it.

I like this Jim video pretty much it was very calmly, oddly dreamy; it's quiet ominous how can someone be easily charming but their could be someone you shouldn't trust or someone going through something that we will easily never see.

This reminded me of the film Blow Up for some reason. I think it was the overall quietness, mixed with the retro camera sounds and the occaisional shimmer of music... very unusual!

Love it to bits! I have zero context for this scenario, but the scene changes, ambiance, sounds, music, photos... the whole thing is just thoroughly enjoyable. The photo of the gull made me laugh for some reason, probably because I thought I might be expecting to see an actual person still. : D My son is recovering from his armful of boosters from yesterday, so I have loads of sympathy for what you're going through.
