I love that you left in the parts with y’all driving with your parents looking for a hotel!! That was so funny and I just love your family! You are so relatable and authentic, it’s just so refreshing to watch your videos! Please don’t get “famous” and change your style! I lost my step sister about 12 years ago now to cancer. She was only 30 years old and had just had a baby. It is so hard to deal with something like that and to navigate moving forward. I think if I had watched you videos back then it would have been comforting to see other people going through something similar and how you cling to each other to move forward. I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you and your family is in my thoughts and prayers. ❤

Did it a few times when my husband worked in aviation. Never got used to the stress of not knowing if we'd get on the flight or not. We didn't have a lot of flexibility then so a delay could really play havoc with your plans. However, didn't mind the reduced fare at all.

I lost a daughter 16 years ago. Every year on her birthday and the anniversary of her passing, her sister and I spend the day together. Eating, shopping, telling stories. It is a tradition we cherish.

Loved your dad he really brought back memories of my dad but his thing was restaurants. Omg we used to have to go to hundreds before he would choose one. He would look at menus and say oh they serve THEM type of peas (so no good ) or oh the potatoes are THAT kind. We would all be exactly how you all were laughing but also exasperated by him. Oh how I miss them days. Xxx

Bless your heart, I haven’t traveled non-rev since my pilot husband passed away in 2002. I had forgotten how hard it is. And I’m not as young as you so I’m not sure I would be so ok with all the delays! 😘 Still, I do miss being a flight attendant!
Kacey I've said it in maybe another one of your videos in a comment, but I just love your parents! Your dad driving around trying to pick and look at hotels to stay at reminds me of me. I haven't ever done that, but I will look at Google reviews, how many stars it has, location to things, price, etc. He had a good idea though, and I love how Josh was a trooper through the whole thing. 😂 Happy birthday to Pup as well, she would have loved being on this trip too!

Yeah, traveling non rev with parents, you are brave. It's stressy enough trying to non rev just yourself. My dad was always super anxious about making it on his flights but my mom didn't seem to stress about it. St L was pretty.

We had KfC once a week growing up.
We always had KFC when my dad brought home the Christmas tree every year and my parents would pick up the Santa Claus layaway and pretend they didn't. We would eat fast then play Christmas Carol's on the living room stereo , decorate the tree and bake. Our family tradition.
I am also picky about a hotel. My family has checked into a few where the room did not get cleaned from the previous occupant and we had to call downstairs. I remember one time in Las Vegas ( my only time ever in Las Vegas.)the toilet had not been flushed.
I flushed it and it ran over.

Kacey, you are very fortunate to still have your parents. I lost my dad when I was 16, my mom passed away when I was 38. I wonder how different my life would've been if my dad lived until I was 30.

She reminds me of myself and I would love to hang out with her! If she and/or your dad are ever here in Northern Virginia ( 15 minutes out of DC) live in Reston, Va., I would love to meet up with them. They are so much like myself and husband, they crack me up! I was so shocked last year when I heard about your sister and you and your family certainly did a great job of honoring her birthday! Always remember she is with you all, all the time. Take care!

My father worked for an airline, as a kid I can't remember how many times I got kicked off a flight at the last minute because I was flying pass or what some people call standby! I would sit on a plane and watched as the plane filled hoping somebody would miss the flight, and of course I was in a suit because I was representing the airline and had to be dressed up, I think they have now relaxed this requirement some what.
How many days where you on the island, Kacey?

cancellations, mechanical failures, delays-the airline industry travel monopoly will eventually attract restrictive legislation. Too bad the United States lacks a competitive. efficient high speed rail system for domestic travel. Sadly, systematic of our nations regression. Appreciate your videos!

What is going on??? I am 68 and never heard of a delay or decorating of a flight until the last few years. Do you know any reason why Kasey? I feel so bad for travelers. Airlines seem to be less and less efficient instead of getting better . I can't see me and my daughter ever flying again the way it is now.
My guess is staff shortages. People calling in sick, ect.. Companies trying to pay employees the least amount of money. Seems like more people these days just live off other people instead of taking care of themselves by having a job.

I think she does so in order to not pay. Not sure. But yeah I would be so stressed to fly standby. Especially going on vacation. Even if I was a flight attendant. I like to have my trips planned.
Why pay for your tickets when it’s included in her flight benefits….I would take the stress because she’s saving thousands of dollars a year on travel

Ya know, you could have just not gotten a car rental and have the hotel shuttle pick you guys up at the airport & driven you back the following morning. I would have lost my mind. I'm too organized. I've seen the type of bathroom you showed. It's all open, saw that when we went to St. Lucia. Also, welcome to the tropics! Cockroaches & lizards are common. Lizards are good, harmless and eat bugs & such. Well, assuming its the little ones & not the Iguanas. The Titons I've seen, basically one part of the mountain is breaking away from the other. Eventually, it'll fall into the ocean. Our hotel was right by the airport, we didn't want to deal with the very curvy roads.
