How to Recognize a Lost Jewish Soul

  • Every nation has their character traits that distinguish them, that are ingrained in their souls. So how do you recognize a lost Jewish soul, that is trapped in a non-jewish body? Over the 2000 years of exiles, crusades, pogroms, jihad's, expulsions and inquisitions, many many millions of jews have been lost and are scattered between the nations. In fact 10 entire jewish tribes have been lost. So there are millions of supposedly non - jews walking around, with a very jewish soul inside of them, and they don't even know it. But these people have a burning desire for a relationship with God, and they keep searching for Him and trying to connect to Him. This is why there are so many people who are "not Jewish", but have an unexplainable love for the jewish people, the land of Israel, God, and the Torah. Because really, deep down, these people have a soul that comes from a Jewish and holy source.

Shalom Rabbi.. When my husband and I met and I asked him what was his lifes dream .. He said to visit Israel the land of HaShem.. That was the deal breaker.. Not because I wanted to travel, but because that was very important to me. Israel was and has always been important to me.. To us... We are now on our Journey to convert.. We had no idea this was coming.. We have been doing Teshuva with out even knowing that was the name for it.. HaShem has been good to us..

How would a gentile know if they have a lost Jewish soul?

When you feel such a strong connection to God, Israel and Judaism, not even know why, and feel such part of it, that when speaking about Jews want to say we , and when you remember that you can't because you are technically not, it makes you depressed af... Also you feel how your soul is trapped in a wrong body, and you can't really connect and identify with your nation where you were born, with religion you were raised, but you feel Jewish instead.. When hearing Jewish music makes your heart overflow with joy and love, and when you tried to find spirituality in all the religions, but you don't understand tehm and can't take to heart, like you do with Judaism, and only this touches your heart and feeds your soul. You feel that your soul is nourished with Jewish wisdom, Torah, psalms, hebrew songs, etc... and you feel hungry and empty without it.. And if you are far away from this you would always feel like something is missing. That's how.

I feel the same. Since I remember I've been drawn to Jews and "Old Testament" as inundated by it by grad parents. Always have felt and known of my grandparents being Jews but it wasn't until my DNA test I could come out of my "Jewish closet" and go cold turkey onto my very very observant religious and philosophical self. It's so assuring to see I'm on the right track. It's been very easy to be observant except I keep forgetting about not using the iPad or changing channels on Shabbat...look at me, it's Yom Kippur and I'm writing this!! ‏תודה רבה

Ariel are you kidding? Or you are serious. It is hard to leave old habits and believes, but Hashem, blessed is He, is there to help those who truly seek him with true love. He is an awesome G-d. Little by little the return will be complete. He promised. He said that He would bring us back from the four corners of the world. I belief His precious word. B"H

This is absolutely amazing. This explains when I was a child, where I would look into the bible and have so much curiosity for the literature contained. One day I said to myself am I apart of something beyond my understanding. So I asked my family who my ancestors were but even they couldn't find out. So I took my faith to a new level. I prayed everyday, to the living God, and so for about 17 years passed and Hashem sent me signs. He even sent a guide/friend, who asked me if I was Jewish or had a jewish background. A year later I found out my last name has a Sephardic origin. Surprisingly soon after, I found out three parts of my family have a Sephardic jew surname origin. My aunt soon explained to me, that my ancestors came from Spain and Portugal, from the Iberian Peninsula. This was all discovered, because of Adonia, and I can't thank him enough. I pray to him everyday for his guidance, as I go on my journey to find more about my family and about Hashem. Here are some of my discoveries www.nameyourroots.com/survey?controls=controls1

I had a revelation ~5 years ago by a Jewish man that gave me a prayer one night and I received gifts of knowledge and wisdom but lost it when something happened.
