1995 'YOU' CON MAZE & FRANKIE BEVERLY: Mi banda favorita de música Soul/Funk/Rythm & Blues. Eran muy latinos en su propuesta, ocupaban cositas caribeñas y así por el estilo... Esto lo escuchaba por horas una época... Frankie Beverly fue apadrinado por Marvin Gaye, les dio un impulso a Maze al inicio de los 70'... Aquí en concierto en lo que parece ser algún lugar en Europa. La gente siente la belleza de la música de Maze y trata de moverse...
There is just something that's so right about this groove, right from the opening, very caribbean tinged. And then Frankie atarts playing ninth chords with the third omitted (if I remember correctly), that's very latin oriented funk, and the drums/percussion, bass and the keyboards are so soothing but yet rythmic and precise... Hard to find anyrhing more special than this one 'You' * and then the beautiful guitar solo, kind of in a Santana style with some Hendrix... this is unbeatable...
Ultimately, I'll tend to listen to singers who truly feel the lyrics they deliver to an audience... Frankie way on the top of that personal list of mine
Hay un parecido a veces del funk con la música boliviana del carnavalito. Es un funk muy latino en su espíritu esta 'You'. Frankie hace de 'charanguista' el momento en que empieza a tocar ritmo con su eléctrica. La música africana y la del Ande son milenarias y se basan en sistemas pentatónicos, y hay un 'algo' afro en cierta música folclórica de Bolivia (creo se llama el 'Tinku')

@@carolbrown3081 Unfortunately, after 50+ years of singing and performing all over the globe, Mr. Beverly's vocal chords have taken a beating. 😭 But, I give him nothing but respect for sharing his voice for all to see and hear over these past 50+ years. Although, he still has the passion to sing and perform. I am one of Frankie Beverly & Maze's biggest fans. I had the opportuinity in my 20's to see them in concert about two or three times and they NEVER disappointed the fans. They are simply A"MAZE"ING! I wish Mr. Frankie Beverly & Maze nothing but the best, in spite of "LIFE'S CHANGES," that we sometimes have no control over. Stuff happens, but, we just keep on moving as best we can. 😘💯😘
