So interesting, as always. Who controls the interpretation or language. Maybe too far afield from your topic but it reminds me of an earlier discussions on Bookish regarding Barthes, Death of the author, birth of the reader theory influencing interpretation and critique. Thank you for taking time to film. Enjoyed.
definitely have been interested in picking up Diary of a Void -- and my ears have particularly perked up from your review. I'm very intrigued by the complication/dissolution (?) you're hinting at. "crazy ass" is def a good description of the Carrington collection. I didn't love her collected shorts as much as The Hearing Trumpet. I'd say perhaps I was aghast/perplexed in a way that meant I couldn't look away?
How you describe your reaction to the stories is exactly it!! “Aghast/perplexed in a way that meant I couldn’t look away” yes!!! I tried to find The Hearing Trumpet because I remembered you recommending it (it was in one of your videos, yes?), now I’m definitely going to order it. Re the complication in Diary of a Void …. it’s very subtle, so now I’m worrying that your expectations will be too high. But either way, it made my day to see your comment here and I send you warm regards from a very rainy day here in Sydney.
Just stumbled across this channel and I'm in love

Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know, I really appreciate it! I’ll go watch that Bookish discussion now as well. Warm regards, Eleanor.
