The wheels almost seem warped, it is sad that this is the turnout of automobiles of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Its always either a chevy with pedal wheels, a 1932 Model B turned into the definition of hell, a 1957 with sickeningly red metallic paint.. and for confusing reasons: overally chromed Toyato rims from 2010. Only few stand their ground to meet the beauty of the classic world (real meaning of classic, factory classic, advertising classic) which would be the Buick modified in 1953, and the Mercury modified from 1951 in 1972 I believe.
Grate looking car BUT i can't take the white wheel wells on a show car or not sorry but that's what the border jumpers did their cars here in the 80s So. Ca.
The blue 1956 Merc I saw in person years ago Martinez is the orengnal builder of the car in the early 1990's he had red hot chili peppers playing out of it at the Pleasanton Fair grounds in California Greedy Guy's car show, I remember going in the early 80's when it was free to enter the gates you just had to pay for parking. I've been into the automotive world my whole life my aunties and uncle's worked for GENRAL MOTOR company right after WW2 in Richmond California then they moved to Fremont California next to the speed way race track they showed it on More American Graffiti 2, one of my uncle's had his own buniess right at home a radiator shop that he recondition old cooling system for many diffrent old car's that people would bring him from all over we even had the biggest Automobile wrecking yards where people from all over California used to come for parts my father and brother are machinist, I became a body mechanic built many and help with many custom car's truck's. The Goverment came in the environmentalist came in shut down all the wrecking yards factories and sent them over seas when they say clean energy technologies that means robot's will be doing the work I noticed that when it only takes one man to pick up the garbage can people have to put out there own containers out on the curb. They cracked down on all the body and painting shop's they require a whole new painting booth that most little guys couldn't afford it. The paint and materials sky rocket. When people ask how much it will cost they are wondering why it cost so much, the Goverment has there hand out first before the workers can even get started.
It must be old age but after a lifetime of disregard I'm finally starting to admire lead sleds. Old Mercury's are my favorite.
