Hi Craig! I really love the Mirage Deck and I think it's great that the project has motivated many people to take their old MD out of the dark drawer and then deal with the new ideas from your Mirage project, like I will do.
My absolute favorite deck of all time, however, is the Stripper Deck. You can't beat what you can do with it! It's so versatile and absolutely diabolical - yet looks innocently like a regular deck. There's a lot more to it than just stripping the spectator's card(s) out of it.
The most important thing is that you use it very subtly (!) My tip: A New Angle by Ryan Plunkett & M. Feldman. When I see videos on TH-cam where it is so obviously exposed as a gimmick deck, I almost cry. Sorry that I've gotten a bit off topic.
In short, Stripper Deck and Mirage Deck are definitely the best and of course far ahead of the one way pony Invisible Deck.

Might I remind you that Craig has a dump truck of routines on the ID called Visible.....it's not just a one trick pony!

Hi Brian, I know it and Craig has wonderful ideas about it and pulled everything out. What I wanted to say is that the Invisible Deck is and remains a one-way pony in its basic principle. His characteristic always boils down to the same thing. The Stripper Deck, on the other hand, is far more versatile (!) A large number of different tricks are possible with it. And if you use it subtly, no one will have the idea that it's a gaff deck... you can use it for controls... as a regular deck and also show the backs of the cards and have it viewed by the spectator (subject to reservation ) let it mix. When you spread it, the spectator actually sees 52 cards! None of this is possible with an Invisible Deck! In addition, regardless of whether it is prepared with R&S or with the ingenious Science Friction, it is used just like a regular deck and there is no need for further treatment. As you can tell, I'm a big fan of the SD. I love it! Compared to the Stripper or Mirage deck, I think it's quite limited and more of a one-way pony.

@@rolfschullenberg7589 fair enough....I don't totally disagree....I use the ID as a group of three creating a card by each one choosing 1. Value, 2. Color, 3. Finally the suit. I use my bike marked deck to fan to them making sure they 'see' the freely chosen card inside the deck they all three created. When they see it I have one of them touch it to confirm. Then I instantly know what the card is by the mark. I then turn any random card face down in the marked deck so that when I pull out the Inv deck it's all as if it's the same deck when I reveal their thought of card. ( I'll put the deck in my pocket and ask them a question like you all just created a card in your minds right? The time misdirection is effortless when I then remove the Inv deck and show them the card is the only one face up. Sooooo easy but Fry's because there is No Way you could of known the card. It KILLS because no one EVER named the card out loud , only thought of it.....Try it, it's a different approach I like to do

I want to be careful not to say anything inappropriate but I bought this because I was interested in the movie trick and particularly how the correct card was found (I had thought that counting would be clumsy so it had to be a bit more elegant). I already have several Mirage Decks (for variety) but they seem to take up a disproportionate amount of space so expanding their usefulness seems like a good proposition.
I had assumed that the movie title was written on, let's say, one of the 'other cards' but when I watched the tutorial video (I skipped to that part and haven't watched any of the rest yet), I realised that I was wrong but it made me wonder why the 'other cards' weren't used and the movie title was written on the face. Apart from anything else, the card could be named at the outset and you could show the card without writing and then be seen to 'write' something on it - limiting to the top 25 would make this simple. Also, if the 'other card' is not a face card, the writing will be easier to read. It might even make changes to the film chart easier to deal with and gifting the card if you have 'spares' - dunno. I think I will pass the card face down to the person and ask them to say the name of the film before turning the card over which will give everybody else some of the surprise.

I have a custom made mirage deck (not playing cards) that I use in almost every show, but I use it exactly as you said: for a really clean force on stage. Especially since I'm using it in kids shows, with kids, and they're hard to force otherwise (they often want the top card, or something deep in the bottom, etc).
Honestly, I'm super excited to get this project and think creatively about other ways to use the deck in more situations. Can't wait to see it!

Time for a MENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT!

Cross can be done with a Pop-Eyed Popper Deck. The Movie trick can be done with a regular deck of cards with roughing. This effect doesn't even require the force cards or the long and short principle.
    Those aren't Mirage Deck tricks...

    • @magic-tv
      @magic-tv  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

Actually you need Cross to be a Mirage Deck as the waterfall shuffles are an integral part of the routine and that cannot be done with a pop eyed popper.
The movie trick as presented here could be a regular roughed deck but the variations on the project require the use of the force card and wouldn’t be able to be done any other way
Like I said this video barely scratches the surface of what is included on the tutorial

Hello Craig & thank you for the Mirage project..I have 5 Mirage decks for various effects but I must thank you for the 'prediction effect and the ' Lloyd ' effect..these have gone into 'magic hat' as I have got two spare decks..I thank you for your honesty & your contribution to the magic community..keep the magic alive regards Phil

Hey Craig, nothing is stronger than the Card at any Number. I thought the Boom Box was the ultimate at this...and it still stands as a great trick. But the Mirage Deck makes it so much easier and more effective.

Been doing the perfect prediction effect for 20 years using a pop-eyed popper deck its awesome.
I like the idea of using the Mirage deck so you can riffle shuffle the cards

Craig..just a thought regards the 'movie ' effect..Matt chose 'lion king' & position 8..when you download it today its position 9..was that an error or do you have to remake the Mirage movie effect (or check the facts ) every time you perform it?..thanks regards Phil..keep the magic alive

At 39:34 Matt was so confuse... Love this methods to have things written on this deck, really interesting use. Definitely picking some Mirage decks to do some of this.

At number 8, the movie is Jurassic world not the Lion King. Am I missing something here?

They are pretty close to each other. I guess the recording was for the Netrix and it was awhile ago, so the ranking was probably different then. But it should be an easy fix. Just adapt the order of the cards.

My pop-eyed-popper deck is getting a rest for now. Had no idea this deck was so versatile. Initially not interested in this, I just ordered because of this very well-done video. Cheers Craig on another excellent release.

Been waiting for this video. As a long term advocate for the svengali deck not just being a 'beginners trick' I love the fact that you explore all these classic props so deeply. So much hidden potential. Never owned a Mirage deck, but will certainly pick up this project at some point.

Sounds absolutely amazing. I have been using some similar tricks with a Svengali, but Mirage allows a stronger displays and selection...
The only drawback of this release is you will create a worldwide supply crisis in Mirage decks, with everybody buying 10 decks to gaff ;)

Wow, Lloyd is killer aswell. Two phases and perfectly justified in bringing out a different deck for just that trick. Love it!
