Sounds like you're doing it th right way! Another good thing in acro is definitely surrounding yourself with the right people. Not to be pushed either way and to feel safe if something wrong was to happen.
Interesting, so different acro glider sizes have slightly different designs? Or is the size itself affecting the aerodynamics of the profile? Why would a smaller size shoot more with the same wingload as a larger size?
Any smaller wing will be more aggressive than the same wing in larger size. It's a bit complex topic to answer in a comment. Maybe I should make a video about it. ☝
I'm a very disagreeable person and I disagree with some of your comments. The smaller Wing is quicker than the larger one. But the heavier weight is faster than the lighter one. The lighter load is more prone to twist. They heavier load is more prone to collapse. So there's no combination that's exactly alike but a miniature of the other. The big Wing loading has one bad trait. If you are coasting along with half the brakes on and you suddenly release one it will spiral Quickly if you are on a Big Wing with a lot of surface area and light loading per square meter, with half the brakes on and release one, doesn't have near the energy to shoot you into a spiral.
