When they try and be young again they only hurt themselves. Mike is going to get a sort of refresher course in a way with Ford and Carl Long. While I don’t expect the team to make it into the race (at least 44 entries according to Mike on his brother Kenny’s TH-cam channel in Kenny’s most recent video) I think he’ll be fine.
Not surprising Corey LaJoie doesn’t have a ride yet. He’s not a terrible driver, but he got his butt kicked by his rookie teammate and made a ton of dumb mistakes the last couple years.

Well, Nascar didn't let 46 Year Old(at the time) Jennifer Cobb run dega in 2020 even know she had multiple Xfinity & Truck starts at Daytona & Dega and was completing in the trucks. So I would be surprised if they let 65 Year Old Wallace who hasn't been in a car in 10 years race the 500. But this is Nascar. They've never been consistentant on anything. They let Connor Daly, who had no oval Nascar experience, attempt the 500. Travis Pastrana hadn't been in a Nascar race in 7 years prior to Nascar letting him attempt the 500.

I'm not concerned about which is more difficult, but rather which one his age and reaction times would make others unsafe. The 30 year old xfinity car that Bill raced is not that much different than a 40 year old cup car which he competed in. Power difference and all that entails but not radically different. However EVERY SINGLE DRIVER has noted much different the Gen7car is to drive than anything else they've driven in NASCAR. Both military and commercial plots must surrender their pilots license at age 65. They can still fly civilian aircraft but are tested regularly. It's almost impossible for Doctors over 65 to practice because they cannot get malpractice insurance. Many states have different driving licensing requirements for those over 65. My state requires a written test every two years instead of five years before age 65. Every old person I know sort of resents old age, myself included. But resent it or not you've GOT TO ACCEPT IT! Not a one of us is capable of doing what we did well at 45 when we're 65. I'm not saying don't race, hit the hell out of the short tracks like Kenny Schrader does and take the locals trophies and cash, but stay away from 190MPH tracks were a small error might end someone's career or worse.
