Interesting enough tie very car Diana was in had actually previously been stolen and Recovered and had been in two previous accident on of which the car Had rolled several times out in a field. The French Government refused (for reasons I have never been able to discover) to give access to M-B or MI-5 to the S280 where Princess Diana met her demise. This, of course, fueled conspiracy theories in tandem with the fact that the very same S280 had been reported as stolen in Spain just weeks prior to it being commissioned for rental use in Paris. Upon examination of the photos, Mercedes insisted that the deformation of the passenger cell was inconsistent with development and in house crash tests. The point of contention was the B-pillar, and Mercedes rejecting it separated from the body on it's own... even more fuel for the conspiracy fire. It's all very interesting. Apparently Dodi and the driver, Henri Paul were killed instantly by the engine breaching the two fire walls and pretty much vaporizing Henri Paul while Dodi was a projectile.

The five speed transmission in the w140 was different from the later 5G-tronic. The W140 had the 722.5 which was 722.4 with an electronically engaged over drive which made it a five speed. The 722.6 came in 1996 and then was available on the W140 for two years and that one was build for a very long time. The 722.5, which was used for most of the time was a whole different animal
FYI they hit the pole at 120+ and they were going faster than 120mpg back then. Some claimed almost 140mph getting away. But they always hide speed numbers in cases or police cases in the news for some reason.
The W140 was certainly the most impressive large MB sedan created, but unfortunately not the most handsome. I think the W126 and the pre-W116's are the best looking.
You could also add some snow to the mix too. Most people just do donuts, kinda boring to watch on snow. Just driving. Matter fact look up the 2010s Mercedes 4Matic commercial.

Hmm. Very impressive. However the W140 was a car designed to make the occupants feel important. Way bigger than it needed to be. Totally lacked the grace of the preceding model, the W126 and whilst admittedly better built than its successor the gorgeous W220, was equipped with a biodegradable wiring loom so good luck with that!

The W140 had the 722.5 which was 722.4 with an electronically engaged over drive which made it a five speed.
The 722.6 came in 1996 and then was available on the W140 for two years and that one was build for a very long time.
The 722.5, which was used for most of the time was a whole different animal
the last true Mercedes.
still keep mine S320 ( 09.1993 ) with only 7.000 kms
Ohhh its been so loooooooooooooong since i saw any of your videos!! yay!
Love your videos, keep up the good work! 💪🏽
Finally!!!! Another video!!! 😃🤩 Amazing job yet again Daniel!
I heard the heat was made to work for 25 mins after the car was turned off? Can you elaborate on that any ?
12:39 she wasn’t a actually rushed to the hospital, she was awake and conscious, and they kept her in the tunnel for over 90 mins I believe
Do you think I can put a tow-bar on it?
FYI they hit the pole at 120+ and they were going faster than 120mpg back then. Some claimed almost 140mph getting away. But they always hide speed numbers in cases or police cases in the news for some reason.
The W140 was certainly the most impressive large MB sedan created, but unfortunately not the most handsome. I think the W126 and the pre-W116's are the best looking.
I love my W140!
You could also add some snow to the mix too. Most people just do donuts, kinda boring to watch on snow. Just driving. Matter fact look up the 2010s Mercedes 4Matic commercial.
Daniel please come back. I miss your smile, your enthusiasm and your excellent car reviews. I bought my first car using your advice and I just miss you 😭
Fear not, a w223 video is well in the works. Also, I'm trying to figure out how to post much more often. Thank you!

There's some good criticism I have about the w223. Definitely have something about the w220 - someone hit it..

This is my 10th time watching this video. Video of the year
Working on a new one. Taking soundtrack suggestions.
Wonderful video.
I would love it if you did a simular video about the last year LS400, The UCF21
Thank you for a truly wonderful video. It's just sad some of the options are almost impossible to find ind the used market, let alone a car with all of them... But it's nice to know they existed.
Always great content. Thanks Daniel
You kept your promise! Nice Video.
I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS. U HAVE TRUE SKILLS AND GREAT INFOS. THANKS AGAIN.
most interesting thing was the distronic. i mean it's obvious they testet it in the w140 but never seen footage of it. would like to see more details of it. also from the japanese "Comand".
Best car ever made. Yes some tech has marched ahead but the W140 structure will never be beaten.
So should I buy one as a first car in Australia?
Rule of thumb: no
Lol
Unless you're already financially set.
I love your videos!! Congratulations!
2:09 I just discovered this from you thanks man never knew😂
A loving tribute
I had a S500 W140.
it was so easy to drive that big car,
I did 140 kmh in second gear
EXCELLENT. ! EXCELLENT !,... THE MOST COMPLETE PRESENTATION THAT I EVER SAW ! CONGREATS ! ,... THANK YOU !
Wtf that speaker behind the mirror, that's detail
It's one hell of a car, but that complexity really does undermine its status as the best. Most Benz mechanics hate working on it, and swear by the older W126. Try changing the A/C compressor for example....fucking hell!
I love this I have two s class w140s and this was very accurate!
Nice video. This is your style Daniel. Green screen👍
Daniel are you working on a new video?
Workin on a w223 video right now. Very disappointed with that car! Got any background music/ theme ideas?
@@DanielKon15 Look up "Niels van Roij Design" he reviewed the S-Class Maybach. He's a car designer and gave an industry in depth review.
Criteria: Proportional statement; 10m away, Surfacing; skin of the car (2nd layer), Jewelry; the details.
My concern with all current Mercs is the obsession with screens. I like the exterior except for the front end and massive grill. The distronic, integrated poorly. Headlight to grill ratio is just off putting.
Mercedes S-Class are designed to be 20yrs ahead. Audi, BMW and Mercedes all did horrible front ends recently. I think it had something to do with China or Japan.

Im trying to find a w140 where the window trim hasn't been sun bleached
Where you have been ??? As always top video ,keep it up.
I know, it takes me too long to make one of these vids. Thanks!
Y si este modelo tenia tantos Airbag, porque con Diana no funcionaron??.
A car expert says Princess Diana car was going 101-106mph.
She didn't have on her seat belt, 😥. Supposedly the body guard had on his seatbelt but maybe just on the waste portion. The driver didn't have on a seat belt.
Happy to see you back
Best car Review ever
3:07 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 wtf 😳😳😳😳😳
Dude you gotta check Ed Bolian channel, I think it was the Mustang Cannon Ball run, the one in COVID where the spotters we're driving a W212 and it got hit by a tractor trailer, very strong cars from Mercedes.
Fantastic stuff, great vid!
Great job!
I own a 2014 E500 W212 Guard (factory armored) if you’re interested on talking about it on your channel.
wow! where located?
@@DanielKon15 not in Canada I’m afraid but I’m Mexico. But if you ever want to get footage I can help 🤷🏻♂️
@@edmedm7993 damn! I'll keep you in mind. Thanks!!
@@DanielKon15 you’re welcome!
Daniel if there is to be a Baby Driver 2 movie, could you audition? You could literally pass for Ansel Elgort brother. Also Edgar Wright has already written the script for Baby Driver 2 🤷🏾♂️
does this mean someone has traded in a w140 s600 to buy a kia? sooo sad
Would be very depressing indeed, but this car belongs to the owner of the Kia dealership. Original owner at that.
Great job on the review bang up job to say the least 👏

The Best or Nothing
How I wish MB still build car with this kinda quality instead of just putting fancy screens and ambient lighting. Nowadays, new corolla door closes better, feel better than my GLC43 doors
Love the video!
Ez Brutális! A guminak annyi!
I now own a 1994 s420 long wheelbase w140. My goodness.
You a G..

You have a new subscriber
You forgot the charcoal air filter😉🕶️👐🏻😎
Wait, Did you change the title or am I going crazy lol.
U going crazy
And I changed the title
WHAT A FUCKING MONSTER !!!! I wish i had the money to maintain and buy a vehicle like this, but instead of s class i have a c class 1997 w202 and it is similar 😂😂
My amg m275 is a better v12, I think I’m may buy a w140 to replace my w211 e350 for work
the W140 S-Class are over engineered! The Best or Nothing! we still keep an 1996 end S600L V12 in nautice blue over grey duo tone nappa with almost full factory options including electric individual rear seats, 5 speed auto, parktronic and so on
we need more
Where have you been man since long time
I know. Time flies.
Great video!
Hematite is iron(iii) oxide...
Yes, but wiki description refers to it as crystal also. It sounds better in the marketing department.
Oh for sure, it sounds way better than "naturally rusty iron".
