If u want a invite only session you have to do this :
Load up to story mode
Go on load game and delete all of it
Then open up ur phone and save it
Load up to a invite only session then invite your friends

Or you could go into online and click join friends if you don’t get in the same session with the friend you want to be in with and instead another friend keep on doing it until you get in the same session as them

It's a gray area.. When I start a Closed Friend / Crew Session, only certain members can join at certain times.
This is a nice way around it for now, but they'll clearly need to fix this soon. Nobody should have to go this this nonsense, especially when the game's more complex than ever.
