You might already be familiar with it, but adding a layer of Tuff Toe epoxy on top of the composite toe might be worth checking out.

Protected toe boots are the bane of my existence. I have super wide feet and I have yet to find a boot with a toebox that doesn't leave me crippled after a couple of hours.
I do office work so boots are for my DIY stuff around the house so I can't justify getting super expensive brands.
I have resigned myself to wearing non-protective toed boots and just developing my cat like reflexes. 😂
