I enjoy watching all the chickens🐔🐔🐔 scratching at the dirt and getting in the way of their masters way of doing his job, all they want are the worms that come out of the fresh dirt 🐔🐔🐔
Love ducks and your pond is by far the best I have seen on internet. I like how you made the entry for them nice and easy. They shouldn't have to climb up steep ramps, navigate walls of stones, or break their necks coming out of ponds. Well done. Your ducks are very lucky
That's a great idea and then little potted plants around to give it a nutural surrounding. Was it hard to clean when you need to clean? Do you just sweep the water out?
Slav I would recommend that you google that, but we get some really hot summers and as long as the ducks have a pond they should be fine. water is really important!
What are you going to do with that big baby pool? When you dug the hole I thought you wer e going to put the blue pool in the big hole bc the hole was about the size of the pool. Also what kind of tarps are those? I've not seen a brown before. Is it more heavy duty than the blue ones? (the only ones I;ve seen from Lowes are blue)
could you share some tips on how you raised your ducks we have had trouble keeping ours alive we have lost nearly 5 ducks the 5th one survived life threatening experiences twice
I used a solar power pump. Ducks make a real mess so buy one that's over 100$ and switches between battery and solar. other wise just drain it once a week and refill it. one other thing that will help keep it clean is the area around the pond, whatever is around the pond will end up in it.
I feel your pain about the traffic. I live on a busy highway to. SUCKS with the noise. Then you have those inconsiderate kids and their trucks with no mufflers
Yeah, how you going to clean it? Every three days or so, you have to clean it out. Your pond is nice, but going to get unhealthy in less than a week. So sorry. You worked so hard.

Glad you enjoyed the video, but we moved to the country and are no longer living there.
Thank you so much for sharing. Happy ducks :-)
Thanks! I really enjoy the duck, more so then the chickens.
I have about ten varieties of African guinea hen as well as Ancona and Cayuga ducks. Beyond entertaining
+Victoria Wadsworth I bet, sounds like a good time!
Believe me, they love it🐔🐔🐔🐔🐓🐓🐣🐤🐥🐔
I use a solar pump to help keep the water clean! I recommend a expensive one, the cheep ones just don't cut it! Spend over 100$
One tip: put big round (white?) gravel around the borders, that way they won't bring as much dirt in it as they do now. :)
This is very true!
Those chickens hahaha funny want to work with you !
I thought I was the only one that had wind problems when I while working with tarps. Looks good.
I like it good job

Asian Clams are fairly cheap...I use them to keep my fish tanks clean...would it work for duck ponds too?
I don't know, I will have to look into that! Thanks

May I ask what breed of ducks were those.
They are white pekin ducks, great for eggs and meat. Good combination bird and they are winter hardy as well.
Thank you what breed would you recommend for a hot climate such as Australia.

looks great. Do you know what a pump for that size pond goes for? Solar or electric. Thanks Dave
Diane Basilicato any were between 50 to 100 dollars. thanks for commenting!

Truth Seeker it's a heavy duty tarp I got a farm store called tsc.
Any suggestions for a good solar pump? We're small-scale urban farmers, and I'm trying to keep it simple (and cost effective).
Bryant Meredith unfortunately no, just don't buy a cheap one they don't work unless the sun is directly on them.
is that liner really made for ponds?
No, it's just a tarp
Love it

Great tutorial. What pump did you end up using??

Why are putting a cover over the pond....arent the duck use natural pond for their food source...how will they get any food from water...
Any chance of worms = no fear of shovels or men
Never had any problems with worms.

those are chickens, Man!
The duck arrive later!
Oh okay thanks!!
I love it but the bad thing is they poop everywhere.Stink!
Yes, agreed! it's better when they have a larger space to be in and a pond!

Henny Penny I just pumped out the water if it needed it, but I also put in a solar powered pump for circulation.
Put in a solar powered pump for circulation and if need be put some feeder fish in. All else fails hand bom the water out once a week and refill.
Too much noise of cars going by .
Thanks for watching!
