The whole time I just felt sorry for Prime... He seems like he was a good guy until he went insane... Because seriously, who wouldn't go insane if they found out their earth was destroyed... I probably wouldn't go to the phantom paradise universe though, but would try to cope in Earth 1... Or whatever the Pre-52 Universe was...

Superboy-Prime is one of the most ruthless and evil villains in the DC Universe. He killed the original Golden Age Superman, he massacred the Teen Titans, he was the worst thing to happen to the Green Lantern's since Parallax possessed Hal Jordan, and he plotted to destroy the entire Universe.
If someone brings him back, he/she better make him like he was supposed to be.
Emperor Palpatine it WOULD have made TONS of sense if the Superman that Superboy Prime beat to death actually was the original one that made his 1938 debut...he was the right age, all the references to him, and ultra-respectful things said and thought about him match up - he SHOUD have, by all those accounts, been the original Kal-el of the Golden/Silver Age....BUT it's unmistakeable that the name of the Superman that was killed was Kal-L, NOT Kal-el. I know, I know, that MUST have been a screw-up by the writer(s) because EVERYTHING else fits....but the original 1938 version was the one named Kal-el from Earth 1 - the one Kal-L (from Earth 2) knocked out (along with another character) and then told Superboy to take them to safety while he finished Antimonotor. WHAT the HELL were the writers thinking by naming the old Superman Kal-L and stating he was from Earth 2??? It made no sense....NONE! To further prove he was not our 1938 Superman, the writers also depicted a scene where the reporter, Clark Kent, stood outside a building called the Daily GLOBE, not the Daily Planet...making that world DEFINITELY not ours.This little twist by the writers ruined any sensical understanding of who the Superman characters really were. For instance, Kal-L fit the bill for SA/GA Superman to the T, except his name and the other two details I mentioned - that left the younger Kal-el, from Earth 1, to be our 1938 Superman (Superboy had not known, at this point, that his name was going to be revealed to be Kal-el someday).....only real problem there was that his and his Lois's ages didn't gel with their 1938 origins - both would be in their late 60's here. That's why Kal-L SHOULD have been the original Superman....but he wasn't. That begs the question that if Kal-L wasn't him, and Kal-el's age doesn't gel in order to be him...then where the HELL was he in this story? I gotta chalk this one up to writer error.....but then, since when did comics absolutely HAVE to make sense?

He also had some of the most epic fights ever, destroying the green lanterns and Ion Sodam Yat, most of the DC verse in general.
His fight with Sodam was one of the best fights in comics ever.

Indeed. He's just an unstable kid with godlike power in a world where everything gets taken from him, causing him to lash out and destroy everything around him. All in all, he just wanted to grow up and be Superman on his own world.

I always thought he should have had a redemption story arc.
I like how they managed to make the S symbol look like the most evil looking symbol on Superboy Prime yet it looks so heroic on the other Kryptonians.
Back in the 80's, Earth-Prime was supposed to be the Earth that we live in, where all super heroes are just in comic books. So according to DC Comics, we no longer exist.

You should have mentioned that Superboy prime was based from the silver age superman not post crisis, hence he's much stronger than superman powerwise. Good synopsis, subbed.

I noticed a little flaw in your description about Superboy being thrown into the speed force by the Flash's. Not really a flaw, but a slight lack of information.
Jay Garrick had to stop running because he was too slow to keep up with the other Flash's. This led to Wally West taking on too much stress from running so fast, which flung him through reality, and into the past, present, and future, all at different times, leaving Bart as the only Flash pushing Superboy Prime. And When Superboy was about to kill Bart, because he was too weak to push him into the speed force alone, Barry Allen came out of the speed force, with Johnny Quick, and Max Mercury, and helped Bart push SBP into the speed force. This left Jay Garrick as the only remaining speedster, as this also caused the speed force to collapse, destroying it entirely, and leaving Jay Garrick only able to run at the speed of sound.
Then, after he came back in his anti-monitor inspired armor, he flew away after killing Connor Kent, intent on flying through Oa at the speed of light, to cause a new big bang. After being barely slowed down by flying through a 300 mile thick wall of green lantern will power, he was slammed through Rao, the red sun of Krypton, by Kal-L(the elderly Superman of Earth 2), and Kal-El(Superman of Earth 1), and they landed far away, on the Planet Green Lantern, Mogo. SBP proceeded to beat Kal-L to death, and was then imprisoned by the Green Lanterns, after being KO'd by Kal-El, because they had all lost their powers from the red sun radiation.
And also, during the whole Blackest night fiasco, you probably just didn't mention it, but Alexander Luthor Jr. was actually a Black Lantern, which is why he was alive at all, after the Joker killed him at the end of Infinite Crisis. And Prime only put on the black lantern ring because he hoped it would give him the ability to kill all the other black lanterns that ALJ brought with him, saying, "If I can't beat you- I'll join you!", not knowing that you DIE when you put on a black lantern ring. He then somehow overpowered the Anti-monitor powered black lantern rings, and managed to somehow sever all the other connections with extreme emotion.
Very good video though. And I would love to see more of SBP in the future, so if he does show up, I hope you make a video of it, so I'll know.

That information is shown at 4:50, it's just not spoken. You can see Jay talk about how he's not fast enough. You could say there's a slight lack of information about pretty much everything he says. He can't be too detailed about every little thing or the video would be hours long...
Fun fact - in Prime Origins it was specifically stated that Red Sun DOES NOT affect him in this Universe....But then the author realised that he is practically invincible and wrote the "flying through Red Sun by 2 Supermans affecting him" scene, hoping people didn't remember that Prime shouldn't have been affected at all...

I think he is an awesome character. It's just too bad the writing has been so inconsistent. At one point he's beating the entire DC universe then he's beaten by the Titans. What? As to your point about Monarch being stronger than him, that is incorrect. I have the comic book. Prime rips him apart. I'd say that establishes Prime to be the stronger of the two. One of the reasons he was so strong then was he absorbed oan energy. They never really go into how he absorbs energy other than solar radiation.

My only thing is, you didn't really emphasize on how strong he was. Did he actually put up a good fight against the justice league by himself? I thought he was stronger than superman. I'm a bit confused in regards to how strong he is. But anyway. I subscribed. Great idea for a channel.

They're the same person, for some time there was a legal issue with the name Superboy, so DC avoided using it where they could.

You're thinking of Superman One Million, a different character. He did go by Superman Prime, but I was answering the question in terms of main universe continuity.
I don't cover Elseworld stuff on this channel, so if you see me answer a question and not bring up irrelevant esleworld information, please don't be surprised.

That wasn't Superboy Prime, that was John-Lane Kent, a totally different character.

Good news.. he is back! He got freed from the destruction of the source wall but somehow ended into some kind of a magical prison. It doesn't make sense since he is not affected by magic. He is going after Shazam at present.
You should be called The "Source" for I loved how you explained what had happened to Superboy Prime... I got almost all of the past issues except for beyond him carving the S symbol into his chest...

Absolute genius. Wow! Crisis on Infinite Earths wowed me. Superboy Prime surprised me. He was such a goodie in old comics that it was surprising to see how evil he could become. I only knew part of his history. I didn't realize that he was the reason that Jason Todd was back. Maybe Rebirth will bring Prime back.
I feel really sorry for superboy prime, he honestly only wanted to get to him home universe, but when he did, nobody loved him anymore, includeing his own parents

superboy prime is basically Thanos in marvel. He completely toyed with the cosmics destroyed universes , even created them , Broke the fourth wall , Kills Everyone and he didn't even need the IG , like thanos did.

Can you do an original (non 52) history of the Conner Kent Superboy? It's long and confusing to me and no one really talks about it. And then, of course, I think a Superboy Jon history is necessary soon considering Rebirth and all that.
What are some reading recommendations for anyone interested in finding out more about Superboy Prime? He's my favorite terrible character from DC, and I can't help but hear Linkara's impersonation and crack up whenever I'm reading his dialogue. I've already read Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, Sinestro Corps War, and Blackest Night.

SPOILERS: They could possibly do something with him for the Green Lantern series because recently at the end of Godhead story arc they revived all if not most of the creatures in the source wall

Actually if they wanted to finally write off Superboy Prime, DC could tie him in with Kurt Busiek's Secret Identity and give SB the hero identity he always wanted. (If he was Time Trapper, the timeline of Secret Identity could exist somewhere in the multiverse).
That would redeem and make it perhaps 'never' happened that he became the multi-planetary genocidal insane maniac that they turned him into.
