Not just all done "for the love of precious opal", but for the love of being able to feed and house their families! That there is the real determination that those tunnels represent. And much love to all of you who sacrifice your time and bodies in such harsh environments to bring us such beauty! You deserve just as much attention & wealth as these beautiful stones receive b/c without you, we don't see it.
Thanks for your kind words Avalon. There really is an awful lot of dirt between opals!! But, I must say it is such a thrill to uncover an opal that has never been seen by human eyes before!! ~ Sandra
Been watching Aussie opal hunters then came across your channel, great video, great content will be watching whatever you publish, keep up the great work, I am in New Zealand and I'm just opal crazy... thank you
Thanks for your support! This new channel should have a bit more of a variety, but if your opal crazy check out my opal channel. link under the banner. Cheers!
Hi Aaron, I do when I have an excess I usually put it on my online shop Www.opalquest.com but there's only finished pieces and some cut stones on there at the moment I think. Cheers
@@coasttocountryaustralia thanks for the prompt answer. I’ll be sure to check out your store. I am learning to cut opal. Getting better. I’ve found miners, and miners wives helpful for putting you on the trail of fair priced rough opal. Happy digging and stay safe.
From your other videos, I'm guessing you don't live near Coober Pedy? Do you camp out? That's a challenge in itself! It's one thing to camp and play, but to camp and work is another. I'm a wildcrafter, so I camp and work in the wilds for months at a time. Looking forward to you guys finding a large parcel of opal.
I have tried camping out, but because I have to travel so far the amount of extra gear required to take ended up taking too long to set up every trip. Months at a time is a good effort!

I just subscribed, looking forward to future videos! God bless you both. Your new friend and fan, Kevin
very interesting indeed.
Do u see big spiders and snakes over there ?
Mainly snakes at a certain time of year, inland tipans, generally they leave you alone. Cheers
I read a book called " i left my hat in Andamooka" in the 80s written my a Pome bloke, its all about mining in that area.
It's great that you have a business you can do together. Yes, it's a tough, difficult job, but that payoff!
Hmmm... the tough, difficult job.... is that working together or the mining? 😂🤣
@@coasttocountryaustralia likely both. I used to work with my ex wife and she was my immediate superior.
I’m guess you get asked this a lot, but do you sell your opal directly?

Going down that shaft . NO thanks , Walking in wouldn't be a problem.
It's an adrenalin rush the first couple of times, even worse when you don't know what's down there. Lol
