This is one of my favorite interpretations of this work. There is both power in her sonority, and a clarity through all dynamic ranges. Perfect pedalling.
Michael...I totally agree! The Glier concerto is hers is the best... you can hear every note perfectly. Also the Mozart glass harmonika piece is stunning...the Damase Concertino is the best on record.
I do love the way she played this, but it's always tough to pick an interpretation when you fell in love with the first one you heard. My first time hearing the piece was Elizabeth Hainen's recording, and I think it'll always live in my head that way. I'm a percussionist and Hainen's recording inspired me to work on a vibraphone arrangement of Nocturne, so I will say that I am grateful for Erdeli's interpretation because her tempos in the quicker sections are much kinder for my instrument!
Oi Olga Erdeli ! Que maravilha sua interpretação ! Para cada peça musical, sempre há alguém que sobressai melhor. Para essa peça vc é o melhor com certeza. Meus parabéns.
No, sorry, Olga Erdeli wasn't student of Glinka. Please read the information below the video. Olga was born in 1927, so she is now 86. Mihail Glinka was born in 1804 and died in 1857. So they didn't meet for sure.
my introduction to harp as a child came through two people: nicanor zabaleta and olga erdeli. not sure which I like better- senor z had flawless technique, but mme erdeli has a fluidity zabaleta never had.
Amazing
