Tbh I feel like the lizard could work as a normal size figure, he could use the demogorgon legs and a tail piece similar to that of the dinosaur costume guy, another alternative is giving him the Toy Story/avatar long leg+arm pieces to make him taller and larger
honestly i think the lizard could work as a normal figure aswell BUT if he ended up using the woody legs I think the proportions would look off and if he would to use the demogorgon legs it will look better but then be too small so its a loose loose, hence buying the custom
I think this is good, but i feel like it could be better, here's what i would do 1. Make the legs slightly thinner and less rouned, the one in the video has really wide and bulky legs 2. i would shrink the neck piece and make is cover less of the shoulders so the arms would have more movement 3. I would shrink the tail ever so slightly and make it rest on the ground, this would add some more connections to the bottom, which could result in less posing opportunity but i think it would look better 4. I would replace the arms with the longer arms from toy story, i think fingers on figures looks weird. 5. I think the head looks nice but if possible i would push the red bits on the side back a bit for more depth 6. I would make the figures olive green instead of the greener green in the video. I think this would make the figure more accurate, cheaper, and more legolike
I'm doing my best to like this custom Lizard. Somehow it's too much. I definitely prefer the custom Ironman MK1 minifig because it's bulky and that's pretty accurate. But this custom Lizard's proportions are kinda uncomfortable to see.
I completely agree with your preferences on custom minifigs! There are a lot of customs out there that just don't blend well with LEGO because they have too much detail and others that don't have the right details or aren't detailed enough. Finding that perfect balance between the two is difficult but helps make your official and customs collection compatable
Not all LEGO minifigure printers have the capability to print leg and arm printing If they were to change all their machines to this newest model, prices would skyrocket up and people would still complain 0:36
The problem with this custom minifigure is that, as impressive as it is on its own, the character just doesn't require THAT many custom parts for the idea to come across. Literally the only thing Lego needs to create specifically for him is a new tail piece, his head works fine as a regular printed minifig head since his head in the movie is already fairly round, the legs can utilise the same used for the Demogorgon and his claws would work with just the standard wolverine mould. Despite your point that certain custom minifigs feel overdone because they include printing that real minifigs would never use, this figure has that exact same problem, only this time it's an overabundance of newly moulded parts. There's just WAY to many of them to the point where it completely loses the Lego charm in my opinion.
This... I feel the leg add-ons are cool and even the tail add on works but then there's too much going on with the head and you could dial back some of the printing
i agree, i think we all wish things where cheaper and more accessible but high quality items tend to cost a lot to produce especially custom injection moulds this is why they cost so much, like I say its easier to justify if you have a model in mind, like the character a lot or it doesn't exist from Lego officially
Ayee I’m so glad you saw my message awhile back and decided to grab JIN Customs Lizard!! My NWH collection is pretty much stacked and about to be complete, with Jaka’s Green Goblin, PCB’s Doc Ock, JIN Custom’s Lizard, Nuno Brick’s NWH Electro (still waiting to ship) & my brick built Sandman along with a minifigure version using custom parts from various sources. Oh and can’t forget Strange & all the Spidey’s ofc lol. I had to have all the suits for well NWH MOC purposes only (definitely not to burn a hole in my wallet) Lmfaoo so for me I’m using Abnormal Minifigure’s Dr.Strange, PCB’s Tobey Spider-Man, PCB’s Iron Spider, PCB’s Upgraded Suit, LEQO LEQO’s Black & Gold suit (because PCB’s version is still waiting to ship), Life Brick’s Integrated Suit, Legend C Moc’s “Final Swing” Suit and ofc my personal favorite JIN Custom’s TASM2 minifig which is definitely my most prized possession 😅 Yeah i know i over did it lml but I’m happy with jow my collection is coming and I cant wait for everyone to see my moc when it’s finished! 😮💨🤞 Much love Tommy, great vid! I love seeing the awesome custom figs shown love on larger platforms!! These brands deserve it! And they make the MOC sooo much better!🤟🤞
The blured ironman minifig is better than this lizard. The parts in this figure makes it look less like lego especially with the head, I know this argument also applies to the ironman but they both needed specialised components. When you do a video about the ironman I will defend the store.
An ironman mark 1 video is on the way and its safe to say as I own it, I like it, although I like it for being bulky I think its really does goes heavier on the custom moulded pieces to make it bulky and looks " less like Legos style " compered to say the lizard, but we both know the purists are going to have the same issues with that as this lizard honestly, but each to there own I think its cool to see the possibilities :)
This figure is horrendous, doesn't even look like lego. How can anyone justify wasting so much money on something that looks so bad? Just start collecting action figs bro.
Imagine if Lego next year puts out the perfect lizard, with detailed printing everywhere in a set, that costs 100 dollars. Then it would be kind if sad, you spent 200 in this custom 😭 But great vid man 👍
although i think it would be awesome if lego made a really nice lizard personally best on LEGOs history i dont see it getting the treatment it needs (new moulds ect) so i took the opportunity to buy this figure as im open to customs and think they can really elevate mocs if made correctly
Tbh i would say the best way for lego to make the lizard would be to create a new head piece/tail like this custom minifigure with legs like the demogorgan or the taller woody/avatar legs
i always thought the demogorgan legs piece would worked well plus the avatar tail piece, its not a great scale but i think itd do the figure justice although i dont think lego will do that, my guess would be regular legs or the avatar legs for added size, i would prefer olive green or maybe dark green over regular green
I personally just use the torso and legs from the grimlins, the face from killer croc, and the dinosaur tail. I then placed some 1X1 plates under the legs to create more height.
I think the only thing, throwing this custom figure off is the fingers on the hands I feel like maybe it would’ve been better if it was just regular Lego hands
@@thegreatpiginthesky3904 You're the one who is incorrect. Not the OP. The Avatar them actually uses entirely new moulds for the arms and legs. The legs have a different back to them and the arms are thicker than Toy Story's.
My prediction on how lego will make lizard minifigure is they will take avatar figures legs and torsors, that reptile alien from star wars and printed to make the Lizard with custome tail piece
I think you’re over generalizing on peoples critique of custom molded pieces. Lego’s molded pieces are very distinct - and this lizard figure does not seem to represent that very well
If you want to upgrade your No Way Home minifigures from the statue of liberty set then you should get the parts from fire star toys. I got mine from there and THEY'RE PERFECT
2:55 Dang, people complain about that? I may think some costume features are unnecessary, but they’re still very cool and I highly welcome them. Also, though I haven’t played with Logos in years, my first thought when I saw the costume peaces in the video is that they really fit within the style of “Lego.” I, assume the disagreement has to do with the creativity of using simplicity or rather tools within a set limitation to convey something that is typically outside that limitation. That’s relatable. It definitely wouldn’t be Lego any more if some just mane a life like clay replica of a character.
The perfect scale for the lizard would probably be the same as the yellow nexo knight figure, which is somewhere in-between minifig and bigfig

I come from the future, they've made a lizard minifig, no Demogorgon legs, no long legs, just a typical minifig with a tail.
Can’t wait for Statue of Liberty episode 😁

Exactly! The color was the biggest problem I had with this custom fig, other than the hand covers.
Here's what I would do, not spend $200 on one fake figure
