so so helpful! I tried for a week to find ways making Geolayer style animation using QGIS with Davinci, but still on the process and its really not easy. I find nothing much on the web(keyword like geolayer+davinci). But finally your video comes! Thank you.
Exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for--THANK YOU. Would love some more in depth stuff on this. I don't understand why they won't make a DVR version of GeoLayers to simplify the workflow. I would fork over serious cash for it!
Glad you enjoyed its a great tool there is so much more to it than i outlined in this short video. I made a newer one that is a bit better and shows how to import custom maps into QGIS and how to export it as an svg.
I really enjoyed your tutorial - the content was excellent! One small suggestion: you might want to adjust your audio settings to reduce some background noise (the lip smacking specifically). That would make the listening experience even better. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Super helpful tutorial, the border thing doesnt really work with neighbouring countries but still very helpful! Thank you! Would love some more tutorials!
Ah fair enough mabye try my newer video - Geolayers In Davinci Resolve: Map Border Animation. This is a better method even though it might be a bit harder on your pc. I'll have some more videos out soon as I find out more about this workflow as its not very known about.
6:36 when you pick the cursor for background colour when its green, and as soon as you drag it, it turns normal satellite map. Mine isn't happening, please help
Same here. This is the message I get: Export to vector file failed. Error: Creation of data source failed (OGR error: sqlite3_open(Greece.gpkg) failed: unable to open database file) However, I think I might have found a solution. After you have named your file, click the three dots next to "file name", and select a folder to save it in. Basically the problem seemed that it didn't know where to save it. Let me know if it works for you.

Hey! at 6:36 you drag the delta keyer and on yours it turns to the sattelite map but on mine it is not the green screen just stays there and nothing changes I can do those matte things that you did but on my screen it stays green and blue (country blue the world is green) so not the satellite like yours I believe you get me :D can you help me with that?

Not really because once you import the SVG into davinci resolve it is set to the resolution of the background. But it can be used to animate the borders like on my latest video
Great tutorial! Just one question though. Let's say I highlighted and exported more than one country (they're neighbouring countries) with the outlined borders. How do I re-outline those borders in the fusion tab, since for some reason they wont show when I add the background node? Thanks
Can you chose historical maps on QGIS? Interested in making a historical video with this method, but obviously the borders back in the day were different. Cheers
Yes on geolayers you can import any geojson file. github.com/aourednik/historical-basemaps I found this for example if you drag this into Geolayers and select the different borders like I did on this video it should work.
Wow thanks man, a lot to look through and digest there. I'll have a good look through. Are these free to use/ public domain for things like youtube videos? I had a look over the licence, but it wasn't too clear.@@willcroshaw-cw4is
