How do they make their borders accurate?
They do a lot of research to understand the boundaries but as with most things history its a bit of a guessing game - you might notice a lot of channels use a soft/blurred border if they arent sure.
I also have an idea where they would look. Check out Geocron and 'David Rumsey Map Collection' for some historical maps. If you're looking to do it digitally I'd recommend watching this video on how to do it with Geolayers ;£ th-cam.com/video/-Dc_CGoXZIc/w-d-xo.html

Hi, I'm asking for advice, I'm interested in learning how to create videos from modern times and maps. Like The Military Show and the Kings and Generals fight. What do I need to create which programs? Thank you
I mentioned most of then in the description :)
Depends if you want to pay for software or prefer to try using free versions to start with. I’d probably start with finding a map on Wikipedia and then editing on gimp/ an editing software
How do they do the 3d animations of 2d

Do you have an idea how GeoGlobleTales makes their videos?
@@harrington8 looks like Geolayers 3 as they are using Bing maps and ESRI for the base
@@ThomasWhiteX Thank you so much for your help!
One more question though, what is the best way to animate maps using After Effects without GeoLayers 3 or any paid plugin?
@@harrington8 what style are you looking for? I’d say a nice way to represent invasions is using a shape layer and revealing territory as time goes on. Check out this video as a place to start: th-cam.com/video/HYGYcfF-Sz8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Jl43-4cS0J2b69qu
I have a guestion. How does the channel "World war two" make their maps?
I've done some research and I've found how some channels similar to world war 2 make theirs - they use blender and gimp. Could make a video on it?
@ThomasWhiteX nah there's no need for a video. I was just curious.

I am pretty sure Wizards & Warriors from Kings & Generals uses Wonderdraft as I have it and they have the same features.
I did not know that, thanks for sharing! That is a big help - I know some creators used it but couldn't say for sure. I just did a bit of digging and found the producer of his maps (Adam Ellis charters) - wish I could have included in the video.
Really appreciate the pointer.
