Great video excellent tips! My mom used to wrap her tomatoes seedlings in newspaper strips to prevent the cutworm from getting her tomatoes. I saved a boat load of toilet paper rolls this year! I will try this method!
Wow first person I've seen to give a perfect explanation..now I know what is eating my spring onions at the base or right beneath the soil. Exactly as you said. Thank you for the info
Thank you! I LOVE this video ! I just came from a pesticide video on cutworms... I so appreciate your helpful and ingenious tips for an organic garden!
Doing our rounds in our community, really great tips against cut worms. I'm definitely going to use the toilet paper rolls we are in process of seedlings 🌱 right now thank you again my friend and have a wonderful weekend.
@@beesandseeds I believe moths laid eggs in the soil from the warehouses. There’s always holes in the bags , rips. I live in Las Vegas and the ground here is awful, desert. Wherever they manufacture the soil moths are laying eggs there and in the garden centers so beware.
Love that you are planting and have blooming trees!!! Beautiful! We will get there but still have so much snow on the ground. I love Spring! (PS- very glad, but I don’t believe we have cutworms here. At least I’ve never known them to be an issue... grubs and moles are my issue. 😢)
The blooming trees are my favorite. I live in a pretty mild climate but only planted out a couple pac choi in a raised bed. Our actual garden has our ducks swimming in it. We don’t get snow, we get rain 😂
I’ve not tried it but I’ve heard it does lure them. I dont use beertraps in my garden as it does lure slugs but I feel like it brings more to my garden. If I use a beer trap, it’s outside of my garden to lure slugs away. I’m sure the cutworms won’t travel like that but if you don’t have slugs, give it a try.

They work well! I cut them off when the plant gets larger and compost them.
The quality is getting so much better 👌
Thanks! I’m still feeling very awkward lol

Lots of good advice, I've not heard of cutworm before, I will keep an eye out for them this year 🌱
You’re lucky! They may not be a problem where you live!
Thanks dear, I’m dealing with them cut worm too, I read they can be 6 feet below. I dug up a dying rose bush, there were many cut worms.
Wow the ones that grow here are just under the surface and easy to find. 6 feet down sounds like a nightmare! Thanks for stopping by!

@@beesandseeds yes, we hate the time between snow and rain here.... because of the MUD! Ugh! Blessings to your present and future gardens!
@@sarahh6777 thank you and same to you
I read those cut worms can also be 6 ft. Below the ground, I’m so disappointed, I’m going to do a beer trap too, thanks dear
👍👍👍
Nice video . New subscriber here.
Thanks!!
This is great!
And another use of toilet rolls
Does Beer trap work for Cutworms?

Didn't realize it but 4 of my broccoli were just cut down😭
Oh no! Protect the rest. I have found if I hoe weeds in the evenings, they are close to the surface and I can get quite a few that way too.
@@beesandseeds I certainly will be looking out tonight!
