Its like the older generation gave their thrones for the sake of future. Abim is GOD! Every guitarists in here (Indonesia) agreeing with that. I personally in the same circle with Dinuth and Bounty (Drummer), we’re all agree that boy is the one!
Skill wise there is no denying the great level that Abim possess, I even dare to say Joe himself wasn't as skillful at that same age but it takes much more than skills and techniques for being "Joe Satriani". As good as Abim is, so far he only emulates the style of others, no great writings or innovations yet to be displayed. Don't get me wrong, I only wish I can play like him but only time will tell whether he will be remembered as one of the greats or one of the great copiers. Thousands of players like him out there but only one Joe, Steve, Yngwie, etc.
a little information sir, guitarist 2 (andre dinuth) is one of the famous session players in Indonesia and he is the one who created the guitar solo and entrusted it to Abim because he considered it appropriate. and the bass player in the video, is the wife of Andre Dinuth.
Reminds me of Steve Lukather's tone and style a bit. But man, outside of Steve and EVH I've never heard anything like it. I could listen to this all day 😮
