I've heard many people preaching that you need medium pen primary for the bots, but I tend to disagree when I could play back in December, I used the Liberator against the bots plenty of times and got the job done just fine, I just used the HMG as a support weapon, picked the supply pack and the Peak Physique heavy armor, it's very satisfying to just run under a Factory Strider and melt its belly with the HMG or just blast them with 3 thermites. Long story short, you don't really need medium pen weapons for bots, but you are gonna need a support weapon that can deal with both medium and heavy enemies if you bring a light pen weapon, and frankly you are gonna use that support weapon a lot. It just makes them more challenging, not impossibly so to the degree people need to shout that "You need a medium pen weapon for bots"
"You don't need medium pen!" you say while spamming Thermite, EATs and Commandos. ;) You're right though, Light Pen primaries can do a lot more than they're given credit for. I spent a lot of time with the Vanilla Diligence back in the "bad ol' days" when most primaries were legitimately awful and the cool stuff hadn't been added yet.
I've been running the Tenderizer since it's release and now the StA-52 as my only primary. Never had any issues with bots, or bugs with light pen weapons
Don't be silly, what do you expect him to do with a light pen weapon against a Factory Strider or a Hulk? Tickle them to death? Though it would be very cool that if you fire at their vision ports you could get a similar blind effect that the gas has, even if just for a moment
Light armour pen primaries are perfectly fine against the bots. As long as you can aim decently and control recoil, most enemies aren’t a problem. You only really need heavy pen for hulks, tanks, and factory striders, which medium pen won’t really help much against anyways
Love this gun against the bugs but damn I don't know how you manage to make those awful sights work against automatons. Awesome gameplay though and you're right light pen does just fine as long as the recoil and rof compensate for it. Tenderizer is awesome on the bots front as well.
@ i’ve found that illuminate city maps have the most common samples and automaton outposts and points of interest have a ton of rare samples, didn’t notice any changes when there was more or less water
It seems like there’s always 40 on level 10 missions, it’s just they’re most concentrated in enemy occupied areas. There’s usually a few in outposts, but I often find the most near side objectives like artillery, spore towers, mind jammers, etc.

he said you don’t need medium, not heavy 😏

@@K_Balu Honestly a good idea tf
@annienguyen6 Yeah, you have a point. He said nothing about heavy pen.

Spill that oil! Your a brave diver going into bots with light pen lol
I need to get a ton of rare samples to lvl my modules up what difficulty would you recommend?
rare samples begin on level 4+ and are the most abundant on level 10, if you need a middle ground i reccomend 7 or 8
@ Ty ya sometimes the higher difficulties get weird with the objectives too is it still better to get a map that has water but not too much?

I need common samples, a shit ton of them anyone know good spots to farm? 😊
no need for pen but sure than senator "heavy pen" isn't part of it
Hey he said medium pen, ain't no one talked about heavy pen, and that is the only actual mandatory thing to have on high diff bots
