i was on a quest for vegan white chocolat to make white choc macadamia nut cookies & couldnt find any in stores in nyc so i had to order 3 bags of a brand called king david off amazon hahaah! do recommend though
I didn’t even realize that the cake was technically a cake and not a casserole 😂 you said casserole so I wasn’t gonna question you girl ok If you’re a bird I’m a bird and if that cakes a casserole I’m a casserole
I have never thought of this way of making white chocolate. Vegan white chocolate in the stores are expensive and have a weird fake taste, just use cocoa butter instead. Genius!
I made the Totgiving Casserole and brought it to a potluck on Saturday. OMG let.me.tell.you. it was such a big hit! They want me to make it for our next potluck (hahaha) and some want the recipe. Thanks so much for caring to share your recipes and not being selfish. EVERY one of your recipes I make are always crowd/family pleasers. I pray you have continued success.
for all of you complaining about the iNaCcEsSiBLe iNgReDiEnTs, if you can leave a comment on this video that means you have access to the internet which means you have access to google. walmart has cacao butter AND soy milk powder. and amazon has just about everything too. stop saying things are "inaccessible" just because they've never been on your radar before when shopping. take a step back and use middle school research skills to google things. 🤦🏻♀️ LOVE YOUR VIDEOS LAUREN ❤️
Claire but if you don't have vegan white chocolate then just use dark chocolate, it's not that difficult of an alternative to come up with on your own. people were jumping down lauren's throat and complaining about the ingredients being "inaccessible". if she ever makes a recipe and i don't have the exact ingredients i just look around to find something similar that i have. everybody loves to make veganism more difficult than it needs to be, lauren doesn't have time to go through every single comment and suggest a personal alternative for each person. i was simply suggesting for people to think for themselves and not complain right off the bat.
piarate king then if you don't have access to vegan white chocolate just use dark chocolate. idk why everyone is freaking out, nobody HAS to make this white chocolate thing EXACTLY how lauren did it 😂
Totally. In fact I was thinking as I was putting away the leftovers that with the addition of mushrooms, the sauce would taste like cream of mushroom soup - a staple in old fashioned comfort food casseroles!
Lauren you are a real inspiration. You make being vegan seem fun, simple and exciting. Because of you I've been vegan for almost a year now. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU
I was just getting over your last video two ways to make grilled peaches, and now these unique delicious looking dishes, thank goodness I can go back to these videos! Thank you Miss Lauren!!
Ooooh, I'm not only gonna make these casseroles for my NON VEGAN family Thanksgiving, I'm also going to try using that white chocolate coconut cream base to make truffles!! 😉😋
You’re a goddess!! Seriously- you’ve made cooking so accessible to me during the time I’ve transitioned to a vegan diet. Just inspiring me to cook in if itself is a feat!! Thanks so much for all the effort that you put into this.
I made the totsgiving casserole last night for our dinner (it being the first cool Fall day that required a fire in the fireplace and some warming autumn-type food). It was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend loved it. I modified it a tad - didn't have any sage so used marjoram, and I added a drizzle of fresh lemon juice just before putting on the tots, since I felt it needed a bright note. That was perfect. I bet this would be good with Brussels sprouts.
Well I have made the dessert twice now and it is a BIG HIT with my friends and especially ME! Yum yum outrageous! Way heavenly and over the top, "Next level" for sure! Thank you !
Arcturian Sweetie did you have r an issue with the mousse turning out grainy? Mine actually ended up looking like curdled milk once I added the white chocolate mixture
Nope have made it twice now and delish each time, actually has become my all time favourite dessert. When I added the white cacao mix it whipped in well with the coconut cream. Perhaps the Vegan Queen Lauren may know why yours curdled , you did put it in the freezer for a half hour first ?
Iceland (the frozen food supermarket) has hash brown fries that would work really well on this, I think the shape would be easier than our traditional hash browns!
I love everything you make and can't wait to try these. However, much as I love your recipes I have to admit that my husband and I get such a kick out of watching you eat your creations...so much enjoyment lol. Keep it up, you're changing the way people eat. ❤️
Okay, I made the tots casserole tonight and it is SERIOUSLY as amazing as it looks! So warm and comforting, it took a lot not to eat the whole thing. 🤤😍
Made the totsgiving casserole for dinner and covered with Green Giant cauliflower Veggie Tots vs tater tots. Holy moley, it was sooo good. Even my teenagers loved it! I added 2 extra links of sausage for my hungry teens, didn’t affect recipe IMO. Thanks for another awesome recipe! 😍
Never too early to start menu planning for U.S. Thanksgiving 2018!! Love these so much! So this means I get 2 months to recipe test them and eat them myself! :)
Ok these both look freaking great! I haven't had anything white chocolate since going vegan almost 3 years ago so I really want to make this! The tot casserole I bet would be so good with mashed potatoes on top too like a shepherd's pie. Another phenomenal video!
YAAAAS I saw these on my insta today, and I couldn't find the recipe on my phone lol, login to my PC and youtube, and it's in my recommended from you! How did I miss this during Canadian Thanksgiving!?! aaaah. Maybe for Christmas ;) Thanks Lauren as always!
Are those casserole dishes non-stick? If we just use glass, should we oil/spray ours? Or I'm wondering if the cake didn't stick because it was chilled so long. I'm so excited to try the dessert one! I bought cocoa butter a while back planning to make vegan white chocolate and never did it. Now I have an actual recipe to use it in!
well these are those staub enamaled cast iron which are non-stick to a degree I believe, but it also doesn't matter I don't think that much because you're serving it out of the dish and it will lift off enough to serve + there's oil in the cake batter. AND with the moisture that gets infused into the cake from the mousse layer.
for some reason my mousse separated when I added the white chocolate mixture to the coconut whipped cream. It was all grainy and liquid started to seap out. I'm not sure what happened or where i went wrong?
I was introduced to Hot for Food last year as I was looking for vegan thanksgiving recipes. These casseroles look amazing!! I’ll be trying them both. Cranberries couple really well with lemon. I’m wondering how adding lemon extract to the cake batter would impact the flavor.
I wish that you offered substitutes for the more rare ingredients that are harder to find in a regular grocery store. Your recipes look great but sometimes they are really inaccessible. EDIT: Not everyone lives in a city/town. For those people, specialty ingredients are harder to get. Providing alternatives is helpful, that was my point. Nonetheless, thanks to those who were trying to be helpful. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
We have the internet. Nothing is really inaccessible. You can get cocoa butter from walmart or amazon. I ordered mine from walmart and I picked it up in a day or two.
you literally can get cacao butter in walmart for very cheap, stop saying things are "inaccessible" just because you've never looked for them before. you have the entire internet in the palm of your hand. use google.
sarahceekay33 no need to be feisty, remember if we as vegans want people to try new foods aka give veganism a chance we have to gently guide them in the right direction! it’s always better to be nice!
you can find cacao butter in any health foods store! It can be pricey so I suggest ordering non-organic cacao butter online. And I've never heard of soymilk powder haha, but I'm sure Lauren bought that online as well.
YUMMM!!!!!! I was planning on making the vegan roast that you made like 2 years ago (that I've been making ever since) but didn't know what to make for dessert...... Hum helllloooo white chocolate cranberry casserole!! Will definitely try it out this weekend!!!
The savory casserole looks a helluva lot easier to make than your super duper mega Thanksgiving roast from last year (which I made twice for two Thanksgivings - friggin' delish!!!). But I might take the easier route this year! Lol Or make the layers in advance and simply assemble and bake the day of.
In 10, 20 years we'll look back and be amazed at how Lauren changed vegan cooking forever. A Julia Child of modern millenial cooking! Geniuuuuuuuuuus!
Anna Jochnick couldn’t have said it better!!
I'm already amazed 😄 💖
*faint* WHITE CHOCOLATE IS MY FAVOURITE CHOCOLATE! Both casseroles look amazing!
Look who's saying this.. omg, you're so amazing, Mary!!! 😘
Mine too, Mary!! I haven't had any white chocolate since going plant based almost 4 years ago. I bought cocoa butter so I can make some. 😋😋😋
i was on a quest for vegan white chocolat to make white choc macadamia nut cookies & couldnt find any in stores in nyc so i had to order 3 bags of a brand called king david off amazon hahaah! do recommend though

I have never thought of this way of making white chocolate. Vegan white chocolate in the stores are expensive and have a weird fake taste, just use cocoa butter instead. Genius!
I LMAO when I saw the cocoa butter. I was scratching my head like cacao butter..?? I've always put that on my skin! Never thought to eat it
I made the Totgiving Casserole and brought it to a potluck on Saturday. OMG let.me.tell.you. it was such a big hit! They want me to make it for our next potluck (hahaha) and some want the recipe. created2worshipGOD I’m making it for a Friendsgiving tomorrow, hopefully it’s a big hit like yours(:

aahaha this.
Preach girl🙌🏾. Real Canadian superstore has nearly everything you could ever need.
not everyone lives in north america though, alot of countries have limited ingredients and most countries dont have amazon

Mushrooms would of been amazing it that tot casserole!
I was thinking the same thing
Totally. In fact I was thinking as I was putting away the leftovers that with the addition of mushrooms, the sauce would taste like cream of mushroom soup - a staple in old fashioned comfort food casseroles!
Keep the Thanksgiving recipes coming 💖
Lauren you are a real inspiration. You make being vegan seem fun, simple and exciting. Because of you I've been vegan for almost a year now. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU
awww thank you so much! And for supporting the channel xo
I'm not ashamed to say that I actually gasped out loud when you cut into the tater tot casserole, even though my dog looked at me like I was crazy.
lol
I was just getting over your last video two ways to make grilled peaches, and now these unique delicious looking dishes, thank goodness I can go back to these videos! Thank you Miss Lauren!!

Who else heard 'cow butter' and nearly freaked out???!!! lolol😂😂😂
You had me at tots.
You have really out done your self with these recipes ... can't wait to make them over the weekend

Omg these look so amazing! Love how creative all your recipes are!

Arcturian Sweetie yes I let it chill for 30 min before mixing in. Glad you had good luck!
That savory one looks amazing! Never seen tater tots in the UK but gonna try it with hash browns ! Xxx
I bet it would be great with potato waffles on top too! Then some of the sauce might bubble up through the little holes....mmmm....
Tater tots are basically just like croquettes but I’m sure that hash brows would work as well
I think that sounds better! I think it’d have a better texture. 😋
Iceland (the frozen food supermarket) has hash brown fries that would work really well on this, I think the shape would be easier than our traditional hash browns!
What is in the tots?
OMG!!! I have no other words! Lauren, you are a GENIOUS!!!
I don't know how you stay so slim! Looks amazing!
So beautiful. I love white chocolate and to see a vegan version of a white chocolate mousse is so great
The Cranberry dessert will be part of my Christmas gathering this year! Looks amazing!
Hope you enjoy it!
You're my favorite person to watch on youtube. I love your ideas. Thank you for helping us survive on the greener side of the fence. :D
I love everything you make and can't wait to try these. However, much as I love your recipes I have to admit that my husband and I get such a kick out of watching you eat your creations...so much enjoyment lol. Keep it up, you're changing the way people eat. ❤️

Ok these both look freaking great! I haven't had anything white chocolate since going vegan almost 3 years ago so I really want to make this! The tot casserole I bet would be so good with mashed potatoes on top too like a shepherd's pie. Another phenomenal video!

That totsgiving casserole 😍😍😍 oh my god
Taking this to a Midwest Thanksgiving
Nice, these look so good! Can you do a video on easy go to thanksgiving dishes in the future? Simple ingredients?
the totsgiving is pretty simple
Omg. I'm literally salivating.
I am for sure making that tot casserole. So genius!
i made the totsgiving one and it was so good!! thanks so much Lauren
YAAY!
Yes

uhhhhh fuck yes to this
Whoa! These look AMAZING!
I think the tot casserole is called hotdish in the States (in the Midwest anyway). It looks amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩❤
Cannot wait to meet you next week in Ottawa! Like, gonna fangirl so hard.
YAAY!
You’re coming to Ottawa next week? How have I missed this?!
She's doing a cooking thing at Algonquin on Wednesday and a signing at Rideau Chapters on Thursday!
Oh wow, are there more details somewhere or was it posted in an insta story? Do you know what time Thursday at Rideau?
So I made the white chocolate cranberry dessert for thanksgiving at my Omni family (we are a family of 4-soon 5 vegans) and everyone loved it!
YAAAY!
That white chocolate mouse... omg.
Oh my god I’m making that totsgiving immediately
The boys would love the tot one
Lauren does it again!!!!!!!!
FREAKING GENIUS!
they're very good!
These both look amazingggg
For people who are wondering if there’s a substitute for Soy milk powder she has it on the blog 😊😊😊
Def making that casserole 🔥
for some reason my mousse separated when I added the white chocolate mixture to the coconut whipped cream. It was all grainy and liquid started to seap out. I'm not sure what happened or where i went wrong?
Shes a genius
No dear, DESSERT before dinner! My motto! However, the tots-giving casserole looks good also - reminds me of a shepherd pie! :)
This looks amazing. I might not hold my horses and wait for November to make it though :)
I was introduced to Hot for Food last year as I was looking for vegan thanksgiving recipes. These casseroles look amazing!! I’ll be trying them both. Cranberries couple really well with lemon. I’m wondering how adding lemon extract to the cake batter would impact the flavor.
yea add it. Its like my lemon cake variation from the cook book
OMFG that savory casserole tho
First dish I liked but called for too many ingredients I don’t have but 2nd dish was nice and simple I do want to try that one!!
I wish that you offered substitutes for the more rare ingredients that are harder to find in a regular grocery store. Your recipes look great but sometimes they are really inaccessible.

Alanna MacIntyre which ingredients specifically do you think are inaccessible? perhaps people can comment on this thread to help you find them!

🤤🤤🤤 it looks so good!!!!
Looks like its Thanksgiving in Texas for me too this weekend. So much yum
Making both. THAANKS Lauren!
"To save on a bowl, we're just going to mix the dry ingredients and make the cake right in the casserole dish." *pours flour out of a bowl* 😉
Do you have any recommended substitutions for ppl on a low plastic diet?
Those look awesome
thank yaaa!
I tried to look into the cutlery because wow gorgeous. But the website says product not found. 😩
flouffier :) love it!
YUMMM!!!!!! I was planning on making the vegan roast that you made like 2 years ago (that I've been making ever since) but didn't know what to make for dessert...... Hum helllloooo white chocolate cranberry casserole!! Will definitely try it out this weekend!!!
