Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the mixing part of the video. I like knowing the details of what happened in case I want to try it for myself. I am getting ready to paint the body of my kit bass and this video has given me some very good ideas.
Soo cool, I was watching some videos where a blow dryer is used as well that are really interesting. Ok I think it's time to try this out on my Ibanez Mikro :D
as acrylic paint is basically a plastic film, nothing keeps you from carefully cutting off the part that covers thepickup cavities and then glue it on the pickup covers, to have a seamless surface.
Interesting, but if the guy edited a bit more, we wouldn't have to watch the silicone drops and the stirring of each cup! I just wanted to get to actual process! But, he knows what he's doing!
The back is a flat black. I was only concerned with the front and sides, which is all you really see. I blended it in with a black spray and clear coated it all.

@@philjohn6966 I’m wanting to do this for my guitar. Did you get a good smooth gloss at the end or does it get porous-looking?

Is it my tinnitus or is there a persistent ringing in the background of the video?
I'm currently trying to do the whole body but having a hard time keeping the paint to stick. Any advice would be appreciated.
That suggests to me that the surface you're painting is too shiny. What did you do to prepare the surface first?
What do you do with the back?

well we know how to mix paint in a cup now thats for sure
If there's an apocalypse and the only thing that can save you is paint mixing skills, you'll thank me ;)
