Fisk/Kingpin is really humanized as a person and not just depicted as a simple drug lord baddie which is what makes him such a good villain in this show.

Hawkeye kinda fumbled him. I had no problem with the comic accurate Hawaiian suit. Fisk is the type of man who can make that look menacing. I just hate that he got physically involved. He usually sends goons to handle whistleblowers like Eleanor. They should’ve just kept him as the puppet master.
This situation wasn’t personal enough. I would’ve been fine with him fighting Kate if he was as brutal as he was in his 1st fight with Daredevil. You could still have her outwit him in the end, but he was acting so passive while under attack it kinda took me out of it. It should’ve came off as if she was on the verge of death.
The actor who plays Kingpin was the main villain of the first Men in Black film. He's a great actor, he also starred in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
The first movie I saw him in was Cell with Jennifer Lopez where he played a serial killer, scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

I literally never heard daredevil translation. I was like holy crap. It’s that’s his name in Spanish.? I been reading his comics in English I never thought about reading the Spanish version
@@SkidmoreTx Actually it was kind of a joke translation Wellz said in the middle of the react, and I thought it was funny. The problem with translating the name "daredevil" is that it sounds kind of stupid if translated literally, which is what they did. What he said means roughly "The demon that dares", because there is no single word it could be translated to...
In Brazilian Portuguese (my native language) the show is called "Demolidor", which means something like "Smasher/destroyer", and absolutely misses the mark, but the translation has been around for so long that everyone knows the character by this name, and we just go with it...
It also sucks because the idea of "devil", in its associations with the catholic undertones that the show tries to explore is kind of lost in translation, even if the name isn't strictly necessary to explain it, the uniform having the horns and all...
I agree that Daredevil is more interesting than Batman. Not only is he blind, he has no money. Man is pretty much broke and risking his life constantly. Bruce Wayne is cool but he has money and resources. What makes Matt Murdock's story appealing to watch is that we see a working class person trying to help his city and people.

Also I don't read the comics so just my opinion on both of them
even tho I like Daredevil more than Batman both are quite complex characters... on one hand we have a traumatized man trying to cope with the fact that his actions make him almost as insane as the villains he's trying to stop and on the other hand we have a catholic blind man who's always in conflict with his actions and his beliefs, main reason why he still works as a lawyer and goes to church: he feels guilty about taking justice on his own hands but does it anyway since he feels that's the only way to save Hell's Kitchen.
I don't know man I just love how both of them have inner demons and writers like Frank Miller added layers to their stories.

Jerry is tripping...Daredevil is awesome, but Batman is a *LEGEND* in all caps and bold. But yo, my only experience is Daredevil is with the show, and but with Batman I read the comics and shows, so I may be biased.
I think Jerry prefers underdogs. It's more admirable to see someone with little power socially and financially do amazing things.

Daredevil is a lawyer who is also a human lie detector, I'm sure he'll do just fine financially. Daredevil is one of favorite characters but he's not a legend as far as comics are concerned, he's nowhere near batman.
@@gemelwalters2942 Batman is overrated and always has an answer or plan for everything. He is the closest thing to a God compared to DD. DD is an underdog who in the comics and this shows how for the most part a common man can be a hero. Spiderman is even more fantastical in nature than DD.

other way around, batman used to be a light tone character like adam west, then the writer of daredevil comics started to write batman comics in a darker tone, batman got his inspiration from daredevil

@@avclub2456 check the comics bro, frank miller wrote daredevil dark first, then wrote batman that way.
Batman was dark at first in the 40s but it didn't last long. From the second half of the 40s to the 60s, Batman was goofy as Hell. I know because my uncle had these goofy Batman comics from the 60s and it was hilarious. Then Daredevil came along and right of the bat it was a gangster Universe-type(DD had a black and yellow outfit then). Then in the 80s Frank Miller transformed Daredevil into crime-infested serious stories(Karen Page even went into porn). DD had the red costume then. Then Frank left to do Batman and made Batman stories as dark as his Daredevil ones. The black Daredevil costume though came up in the 90s when Frank returned to Daredevil and created an origin for him where he had a black costume first.

Vincent D'Onofrio is the sickest character actor ever! Don't believe it...watch Full Metal Jacket...unbelievable...and as Kingpin...he nails it! He is the most underrated actor working. Then just a question...the dude on the end with the Adidas shirt on...uuumm he's like out of it! Does he talk or is he just the type that falls asleep the minute he hits the couch!? Giggle!

You do NOT say his NAME and now you know why. Also every Batman fans owes Frank Miller and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen a HUGE thank you because of the work Frank Miller brought to the caped crusader after working on Daredevil. Literally changed the course of comic history and the game. Those similarities you've picked up on between the 2 characters as you're enjoying DD season 1 are for good reason and Frank Miller is that reason. The Netflix series is heavily based on his run with the character. On a side note here I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet in the comments but Claire's character is known as the"Night Nurse" she's patched up many a Marvel hero's and her comic counterpart Ben Urich is a reporter who works for the Daily Bugle who has both DD & Spider-Man connections. Keep up the awesome reactions and discussions gentleman!

Regarding Jerry's Daredevil > Batman opinion, I can definitely say I like this version of Daredevil more than Ben Affleck's Batman. Objectively looking at every incarnation of Batman vs Daredevil in movies, tv, cartoons, and games, (not comics b/c I haven't read enough), Batman is still superior, but only b/c I think this is the only version of Daredevil w/ any quality and substance. Batman covers way more types of media. It's weird, I just realized the versions of Daredevil and Batman I don't love, were both played by Ben Affleck...
Affleck loves to be a super-hero so bad, as a movie star, he uses his clout to be one in movies but they do not necesseraly fit him. You have to find actors that fit the roles, not just pick a movie star and let them be the character and think it's gonna work. Like I know that people loved Momoa as Aquaman and the movie made money but the character was completely different from the character from the comics.
What's amazing about this Daredevil is that it may be the most accurate take on a super-hero character from the comics to screen as far as casting, that Universe, the stories, etc...It's just a fantastic updating. And they did not change things for the Hell of it.

Aquamans character has drastically changed from the comics over the years, what's more the average movie goers do not read comics and most likely know him from the infamous justice friends cartoon..maybe they should have gone for justice friends Aquaman then since that technically would have been accurate as far as ppl know. And then you would be complaining about something else.
Affleck was fine as batman since they were going for Millers dark knight. Obviously DC has several versions of the same characters and actual fans can enjoy them. I don't like the CW flash, he's not the way Barry is in the comics but others enjoy the character so I'm happy for them. There's no "purity" test that everyone needs to pass to enjoy an adaptation.
@@gemelwalters2942 What's great about the Netflix Daredevil was that is showed that you can stay true to the comics a lot and still produce a kickass super-hero product. All the times movie producers have changed things from the comics for no reasons cause they thought it would not work, Daredevil proved them wrong. Warner could have done a great Aquaman movie while keeping the noble short blond hair Aquaman from the comics. What they did was basically saying "alright Momoa, just be yourself, bruh" and put the name "Aquaman" on it. This is a missed opportunity and you don't have to disrespect characters like that. Momoa would have made the perfect Lobo.

Come on jerry, even though I’m a Batman Stan, popularity doesn’t lie, Batman is 1/3 of DC’s figure heads ( trinity) & I do love some daredevil but it’s not a comparison.
Popularity doesn't make a character good, batman is till an amazing character, i just personally find matt Murdock much more interesting and relatable than bruce wayne and i find daredevil as cool if not than batman and as badass, personally, he's popular because he's basically in a ton of cartoons, comics, and a lot of movies, just like spiderman, daredevil only has one movie, barely any cartoons, a lot of comics and one tv show

I’m pretty sure your favorite iteration is the Netflix daredevil? ( better than the comics personally ) But due to Netflix’s audience he couldn’t continue because declining audience. However, Gotham, a series which isn’t better than daredevil, continued for 5 season because Batman’s name alone, without having Batman’s. That’s why I say it’s not a comparison

And in my opinion, they should watch all of the Netflix shows in chronological order, even Iron Fist, I know most people don't like it, but I think it's ok. Just because Defenders is less dark doesn't mean it's terrible. Maybe it wasn't the best but they're all pretty good to me. But that's my opinion. Don't get angry at it because if you don't agree with it then you don't. End
