As a fellow transport helicopter enthusiast who hasn't had a PC since Rising Storm 2: Vietnam and pre-helicopter Squad this gameplay is what I miss most from having a pc. I have to get a decent setup to be able to play games like these again. Excellent flying!
Get one because they updated the Star Wars mod Galactic Contention! I have a laptop for travel and it runs pretty good with the 3070 80w(MSI GL66). 3060 would work fine as well.
1:53 I love this section so much - it's what I miss from Project Reality and Squad: you drop off a squad and you pull away to safe yourself and continue your runs, and the action begins for the squad, as they have just been dropped into a hot zone
if you go back to some of my older content i used to hop out of the pilot seat and onto the door gun then back to pilot seat a lot which helped me learn what my gunners can/cant see and effectively hit.

I SIMPLY want to bring my thousands of hours of flight experience to a game that doesnt feel so dead. Anymore, ARMA3 KOTH servers are just filled with people trying to master the craft. Dilutes down what used to be a rare art form.
I haven't played for years. I gotta say guys like you al who make vids like this of the game are the best ads for it. It's why I'll never understand the games over the years who copyright strike gamers who showcase the games they play and love. You just know they're not a gamer when they do that since they don't realize finding vids of games they're interested in just like this from creators who have the same gaming sensibilities(for lack of a better descriptor)are how we gauge how good a game might be for us. It's how I make a final decision on spending my money on a game for at least a decade now. And this is making want to fire up Squad. And it also makes me miss other mil sims like this as well.
And at 3:13 you start to roll, but I dont see you push E, only D and then you drop the collective. How do you roll at 129 knots with only the rear tail rotor?
Although i think it would be awesome, pilots like these are exactly why the Apache, Cobra, Kamov, Tiger and other attack helicopters will never be added to SQUAD 😂 imagine a heli does a full barrel roll over your BRDM, 20m above the ground, while the gunner lays 30mm into you then a full salvo of zunis destroys your logis
lmfao. but there are attack helis like the apache in squad... they are in the SATCOM mod. which i believe only has 1 server currently and isnt ever really populated.
When I'm flying 99% of the time, I'm full throttle as messing with the collective slows you down. I just change altitude by pitching up/down. although sometimes I do drop collective briefly when lowering altitude by a lot. and when landing its mostly by feel but it's still nice to have a visual reference.
You didnt list it so Ill go with you use the default W and S for collective, and A and D for Yaw, that said what is the mouse used for? Simply freelook? Thanks, incredible flying.
no. i have all default controls, just added the ones in the description after. mouse is what i use to controll the heli for 90% of flight. i only use the keybinds for tricks.

I would love to learn, or at least fly with this guy. Nothing like a Pilot that can maintain a constant sight picture for his door gunners!

So do you pay attention to your throttle or is it pretty much just by feel? Seems like for the most part you're either full throttle or none at all
