In the last few months, the tectonic plates of United Methodism have shifted. Rob Renfroe is president of Good News for United Methodists and helps us see what is happening in the emerging schism of that denomination. It’s a sad time. Yet, there is the silver lining of hope. I was active in music ministry in a local UMC church. Until covid hit and the church stayed closed for 2 years. They couldn't hold worship services but they certainly had a lot of closed door meetings and wheeling&dealing. Little to no outreach to members who had lost their jobs and loved ones due to covid. I never went back. I began attending an evangelical Wesleyan church-a Wesleyan church plant. We've been running 3 worship services every Sunday. Active women, men, youth, married couples and senior citizen small groups. Lot of community outreach. We've averaged 15-25 baptisms a quarter even during Covid. It's a life sustaining spiritual church.
As far as Bishops being liberal and running the UMC to the devil, what can you expect when the majority of pastors are coming out of Duke University? An ungodly unholy campus where the sexual assault rate on undergrad females is 2x higher than the national avg and most rapes go unreported because fear of retribution.
For those members who want to stay and fight for their UMC I would remind you that it's easier to pull a person down into a ditch than it is to pull someone up out of a ditch. They will drag you down to a point of no return.

When you substitute men's judgement for God's judgement, you are no longer subjecting yourself to God's will. The Bible is clear and to ignore God's word is the death of a church. The UMC has decided that it knows better than Biblical teaching and has denied God's word. It is finished and within 10 years will be extinct.

But if you are not telling the truth - if you’re spreading falsehoods about the UMC like Refro is - then you’re not being anything like a Christian.
