    Not sure why you would stop reeling while the fish is on the wind on

      Once I unclip the lead I lower the drag and I never like to get in a tug of war with the fish. They are always going to swim away from the direction they are being pulled.
      When they pull drag I like to let them run

      @@pescatarianfishing when the line is completely slack you greatly increase your chance of them shaking the hook every time

      @carsonrogers8607 that is 100% correct. In this particular case that I think you are referring to, the fish was swimming at a bad angle to the bow and I had to adjust the boat.
      I never like to have the line slack either but it can be a little challenging when you have to work the reel and drive.
