For me this is true, too, but only after having listened to all of them at least once. So it's a mix of a great voice and style, fascinating stories and allowing yourself to be carried away by them. The first round cost me SOOOO much sleep because it was too captivating, though, so I think it's fair! :)
The narrator has such a soothing tone to his voice that many nights I fall into sleep during a reading, this pleasant experience allows me to go back over many stories as if they are new to me.

Interesting how much of the story is about putting the reader/listener into detail about location, personality and transport. This coupled to that wonderful voice makes the crime almost incidental as I live the historic period.

I am awestruck at this story! Silver Blaze is one of my favorites and I've seen Jeremy Brett's episode of it when he played Holmes way back when. Though I must say, one line really intrigued me, for I have read another mystery book of a more recent nature, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, that I never knew drew it's title from one of Holmes' observation.
*Gregory:* Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention? *Salem Saberhagen:* _(as Holmes)_ To the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime. *Gregory:* The dog did _nothing_ in the nighttime. *Salem:* Knowing these canines, I'm not entirely surprised... Nonetheless, _that_ was the curious incident.

Given that there are no "moors" in the United States, I do wish some English person would someday explain what a moor actually is. The countryside? A plain? A field? A rock-strewn hillside? What grows there? Trees? Sagebrush? Shrubs? Grasses? Nothing is mentioned other than ferns.
Hopefully this comment doesn’t come too late, but if I may ask, why have you only covered twelve of the 25 stories in this collection? Edit: my apologies, it appears I was mistaken. Upon consulting Wikipedia, I have found that there are only 12 stories in this collection, but I am still puzzled by the number system used in these thumbnails and titles. Anyhow, these audiobooks are incredible, thank you so much for making them.
This reminds me of Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of Wee Bloody O'Me. In that one, Holmes stumbles upon a gnome who has infiltrated the Royal Leprechaun Racing ring. Gripping stuff.
I am trying to read like you. I repeat a sentence like 15 20 times listen and try to say like you again and again. Oh I am really bad at it but I will keep trying and never give up. I am recording my voice sentence by sentence. I hope one day I can read like you and speak better

Warning. I love all of them stories, I love the narrator, but this one is probably a hit and miss if you like Doyle. Sorry to say, skip forward in my opinion.
It has some inaccuracies about horse racing, but that depends on how much you feel the world of the story is our world. And we have the dog in the nighttime.

I had to LISTEN to this repeatedly
Given that there are no "moors" in the United States, I do wish some English person would someday explain what a moor actually is. The countryside? A plain? A field? A rock-strewn hillside? What grows there? Trees? Sagebrush? Shrubs? Grasses? Nothing is mentioned other than ferns.
Google knows. There’s also description in The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Although I think there is an orchid mentioned there that would not be on the moor or at least during that time of the year.
Often boggy as well. It is an odd word that is difficult to grasp for foreigners such as us.

Hopefully this comment doesn’t come too late, but if I may ask, why have you only covered twelve of the 25 stories in this collection?
Edit: my apologies, it appears I was mistaken. Upon consulting Wikipedia, I have found that there are only 12 stories in this collection, but I am still puzzled by the number system used in these thumbnails and titles.
Anyhow, these audiobooks are incredible, thank you so much for making them.

This reminds me of Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of Wee Bloody O'Me. In that one, Holmes stumbles upon a gnome who has infiltrated the Royal Leprechaun Racing ring. Gripping stuff.
So are leprechauns. Children’s book or fantasy, I suppose. Now we have Sherlock Gnomes, but those gnomes seem to be living statuary.

I am trying to read like you. I repeat a sentence like 15 20 times listen and try to say like you again and again. Oh I am really bad at it but I will keep trying and never give up. I am recording my voice sentence by sentence. I hope one day I can read like you and speak better

Warning. I love all of them stories, I love the narrator, but this one is probably a hit and miss if you like Doyle. Sorry to say, skip forward in my opinion.
I tend to agree with you Magnus.
It has some inaccuracies about horse racing, but that depends on how much you feel the world of the story is our world. And we have the dog in the nighttime.
