Enjoying the air show and fireworks at Addison Kaboom Town!
This video is just to give a flavor of the great Fourth of July event in Addison, Texas. I have likely been to this event over 10x since the mid 1980’s. I don’t always bring my camera but thought I would post up a few videos and pictures. Hopefully they encourage you to attend too!
Video and pictures from July 3rd, 2024 (the 40th year of this event!), 2023, and 2008. At the end is a little more information about this great yearly (and free!) event.
Often seating was on the side of Midway Rd, then later a nice parking lot spot (I believe was thanks to my friend Andy) near the northern end of the runway. All around there are plenty of places with great views of the runway and fireworks.
The last two events we attended were July 3, 2023 and 2024. My buddy Jason Woodward invited us on the flight line during the show!
This video starts with the taxing of the B-25 Devil Dog (2023 video by Jason). Typically there is also a P-40, T-6, Pitts, and others. Thanks to Jason we now sit 200 yards from the four(?) 18 wheeler trailers that house the 25+mins of fireworks. We are basically directly underneath them, I don't see a place to be closer unless you are launching them yourself! It is awesome fun and we plan to attend again as long as this spot is available to us!
After the B-25 video there are pictures and vids from 2024, then back to 2023 for more pictures and video. Finally some pictures I took in 2008. I didn’t bother scanning my 35mm film pictures from years previous to that. ;)
