- This weekend saw the debut of the Sywell Airshow, an event anticipated eagerly by so many aviation enthusiasts due to the nature of the flying display line-up as well as the location.
The flying display featured numerous warbirds from the UK and in Europe, including Spitfire RM927, The Flying Bulls' P-51, F4U, B-25 & P-38, as well as aerobatic displays from a Gamebird GB1and 46 Aviation's Boeing Stearman. The display was opened by a unique flypast of Mustang, Thunderbolt and F-35A Lightning II, the full video of which can be found here - • Sywell Airshow 2024 | ...
The daytime display concluded with a performance by a 9-ship of Supermarine Spitfires of various marks. A few passes in formation before breaking off into a tail-chase - a wonderful way to end the first day of the air show.

Isn’t this just incredible to witness the sight and sound of these historical aircraft to display at an airshow, the sound of the WW2 aircraft are just out of this world!!
Ower first time to Sywell yesterday. What can I say fantastic show fantastic commontry love the music in between. Well organised great atmosphere as Del boy would say Perfect. Thank you to all those who
was involved in organising the show .can't wait until next year show. Kevin. Carl
Mine too, definitely going next year as well
Brings back memories from the 90s of the classic Fighter Meets. Well done to everyone for putting on a great show.
Congratulations on a safe, professional show featuring a wide variety of fine aircraft. Very professionally done. I was in both the CAF and the Valiant Air Command and was very impressed with this video. Wery well done.
Looks like a replacement for the flying legends show at duxford finally.
This vid stopped me in my tracks! Thank you so much for the upload. Man, that Fury is a peach.
Excellent film work, thanks. We will have to come next year!
Beautiful sights and sounds
Thank you for sharing this. I really appreciate the effort as it provides some smashing memories of a great day.
Fantastic 🎉 what an air show !!! 🤓
Great sound!
I went on Saturday and it was a great show well organised some great planes in the air what's not to like
The look of the P-47 is, like, how does that thing even fly? As much as I love ALL the WWII prop fighters,
I think my favorite fighter is the F-86 Sabre
Raw, brutal power!
2000hp engine 😂
If you get the chance, read the book "Thunderbolt" by Robert S. Johnson. He flew the "Jug" with the 56th during WW2. It will give you a very good look at how well it could fly and the punishment it could aborb.
Was not expecting 12:32! Did it actually fly over the crowd?!
No, it flew along the runway line
@@CDB8939 Quite the confusing angle!
Fantastic show I went on the Sunday great layout on the ground and very nice displays well done Sywell 👍👍🇬🇧
Flew over the correct display line as briefed. Looks close as the thing is huge!
What happened to the other P51 that were due to display?
Was unable to fly due to an engine problem
It flew on Sunday with the other 3
Cracking show, good sound recording, except the commentators butting in and spoiling the engine music.!
James Holland’s comments count be better. He’s was describing the Hawker Tempest that wasn’t at the show - when the Hawker Fury was flying! Come on James, keep up. Lingy was just the best at commenting - his Red 10 experience shone through.
JH knows his stuff, his books are superb.
Holland gives the impression of being well informed but he's a terrible blow hard.
Did you not film the rest?
The light was not favourable for the evening show unfortunately, but it was a nice watch!
Hear that ? ..no music!!...just engines...Brits know how to do it...thank you

Amazing show thank you for sharing 😊 How can you not love the sound of merlins and Pratt and whitneys 😊
Fantastic video. That pan over to the three Mustang’s coming in to save the Thunderbolt was superb.
Lovely I was there both days. On Sunday I was there with the air scouts
Thanks
Looks like its based on the old 'Flying Legends' show at Duxford
Until I'm up close I always forget just how big the P-47 is
Thanks!
Vou já tratar da renovação da minha licença😊🎉❤
god i love the spitfire i am proud to be british
Hi
4:15 amazing manuevers ... nice airshow video 🛩🛩🛩
AB...FAB❤🙋👍👍👍
Thunderbolt = Huge! Wonder if today's youngsters, will see today's aircraft, flying in 8o years time??!!
I couldn't watch the bi-plane wing-walking. If I'd been there I think I would have made a bee-line for the refreshment tent until it was over ...
รักม๊าก
Went on the Sunday and we both had a great day and of course the Red Arrows flew their display that day as well.
Just Awesome ! Better than any USA display I have seen !
