I've recently started rewatching YHS/Toyko Soul with a friend and it reignited my love for the series. Seriously, if you haven't watched it, this whole thing goes so off the rails, its very slow to start (it takes until like episode 20 for Sam to truly snap) but holy shit when it gets good it gets good. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
So this may be related or just a side thought of mine but, if you put the Kindergarten series he made later inter perspective, you can see how Sam was a regular kid sorta in the beginning, but gradually became somewhat deranged through YH and TS, and watching them in order of how old the characters would be (as in YK, then YH, then TS) you can watch that character development. Now Yandere Kindergarten probably wasn't "canon" but with how the whole series' went, it's hard to say if anything was canon at all or not lol just my thoughts though feel free to share your own opinions, also really cool to see other people still think about this series, real nostalgic indeed

I’ve grown up watching YHS and I haven’t seen many animatics of it, this is probably the best out of almost all of them! I love the colors, the details, everything about this is amazing! I love your art style as well, your choice of music is also spectacular! Couldn’t have been better! I will now proceed to watch this over and over as I have fallen in love with this animatic

I don't think there was any one big controversy, just a couple of smaller ones. I'm not particularly up to date on any of them but I've just decided to close my eyes let nostalgia win for this one

yeah he was known for being generally bigoted as well as harassing young fans for disagreeing with him or not liking some of his jokes. it got to the point of him joining small fan discord servers and searching through the message histories of like 13 year olds to "roast" them in arguments or whatever. also there was speculation about how he treated his friends and co-workers but i don't think any of that is confirmed
He also did say the L slur, and made some transphobic jokes as well in YHS-
@BunniesWithKnives I believe the biggest one was him joking and making fun of people who got r@ped/sexually harassed in one of his series.

Ngl, I rewatch the old series (skipping Tokyo Souls because theres some episodes missing) and the episode where Taurtis(Grian) was hiding and invader said that Sam needed to go to a mental asylum, Sam sounded scarrey AF.
I totally forgot how wild this series was man like omg, in a good way though, at least how I remember

i've been scowering the internet to fill the gap in my heart that yhs left after it ended and this animation. oh my gord this animation. you depicted the series like how i used to daydream abt the characters when i was a little kid and aaa it brings back so many memories i lost :( especially 1:22 I LOV YUKI SO MUCH and i adore your rendition of her; being robbed of everything n everyone in her life and her weary eyes still hold that lingering desire that things could've ended different with sam (my weird interpretation, maybe wrong) .. i'll keep the rest of my tangent to my brain, so thank you for amplifying my love of this lil minecraft roleplay in a way i never could and making me tear up for the first time in a long time. ^0^
If you havent heard about it already you should definitely check out the YHS Reboot Sams doing! It does a great job at capturing the vibes of the original series

Wow- The details on the designs are amazing! My favorite has to be Mr. Chupa (if that’s his name.. or the one at 1:38) And at 1:42 where it shows a Taurtis melting then shows a Taurtis with the number changing representing the clones! >:D I can go on but that’s to much to type..
