The US had Kmarts. But they all closed. I used to have one right by my house here in Utah. I was so upset when they closed.

I’m 50 & never been to Tassie, lived in Melbourne my whole life & it’s not far.

Australia found the right formula that works. It doesn’t matter what class you’re from, Kmart has something for everyone, at a reasonable price.

If you’re grounded & free spirited & love adventure, you’ll enjoy Australia. Just be prepared to travel long distances. That’s why those kitted out mini vans are handy. NZ has them too.

You're just too young for k-marts. So am I, to be honest. I just know of them. It was still part of pop culture knowledge when I was growing up, even though none remained in my area. I had no idea they were still a thing in Australia. And that I'm "that" old...
Funny bout k Mart is that when they went into bankruptcy, they turned around and bought Sears roebuck, idk go figure.

I'm so glad you enjoyed our beautiful country and I'm even happier to hear how much you love Tasmania. It's often skipped over by tourists who stay mainly on the mainland. It is SO ecologically diverse for such a small island state. I was a mainlander but moved down to the land under down under and haven't regretted it. Look forward to watching your Tassie vid. Fingers crossed you did The Overland Track? Or Three Capes Track? So many epic walks here! 😊

I didn't know Kmart was still in business. Kmart went out of business in the US last year.
Kmart is thriving in Australia!! Plus it’s one of those shops that’s open late every night so it’s kinda fun if you’re bored to go at night 😂
