17.5% I read online so the medium classic flap was £4620 it will now be around £5430. I had been saving for this bag and had enough for it and now I will have to wait even longer.

I'd like to add that vintage Chanel lambskin is thicker and more durable than the lambskin bags now regardless of the fashion house. I own a vintage lambskin mini and a 2018 lambskin WOC, and the difference is pretty significant.
That’s interesting to know, my classic flap is from the eighties and has the slightest of corner wear but is otherwise immaculate, explains why I don’t find it as troublesome as always told it is.
Totally agree! I have a I take mini bag amd the Lambskin is soooo much thicker than my newer jumbo.
So true Have a vintage Chanel lambskin and it is so durable. Do not worry about being careful. I have a recent purchase lambskin and it looked worn after using it a couple of times

I love Mulberry! I have a tan color bayswater for about 10 years and I use it almost every day for work. Beautiful style and quality. I don't baby it at all and love the aged leather look even more today :)

Looking at this and other recent videos, it seems that durability and carefree wear really affects how a bag became your favorite 🥰 I mean, when I saw your closet you do have the pretty pink bags, dainty bags, but the ones you’ve shown in this video are really making reappearance now and then due to their durability. I agree that the Neverfull is a star! Mine gets heavy, everyday use lugging things around, and it still looks good. Another super durable leather is Epi leather, which wears like iron. Great video!! 💜💕

Chanel people , they say caviar in english version. in french they say veau grainé ( grained calf skin ). caviar is luxurious fish eggs for me🙈😹
Safiano has been most durable in my hot climate. The soft Pebble leather that is on micheal kors, ralph lauren etc is the worst for me. Strips like crazy

Waiting for an update on the Givenchy Antigona in terms of durability.
I’ve had mine for three plus years. I wore it excessively and it’s still in great shape. I got the sugar leather in the large size. I scratched it pretty hard with my nail but was able to buff out to minimize the scratch. The stitching on one of the handles started to unravel/fray because I carried it mostly with the handle. Rather than getting it repaired, I tied a scarf around it. It’s a very sturdy bag overall and holds its shape nicely. I used to spill coffee on it all the time but a good leather lotion would clean it nicely.
My smooth is VERY resilient!
I had mine since 2015 (black shiny leather) and it still remains beautiful. I brought it travelling to Europe, Japan and Korea.

I have quite a few Michael Kors bags and most of them are Saffiano leather and the wear and tear is amazing. I’ve had my Dillon satchel in the medium size for a year and a half with frequent use and the only wear I see are in the feet and a scuff on the outside. That grainy leather is my go to for any luxury bag
I dissagree completley, i have three mk saffiano bags. First one i got almost two years ago, i did use almost it every day and its almost falling apart, it has scratches and the chain is chipped, shape is not got anymore. Second one i didnt use that much but after few months strap part that has leather got torn, the third one is ok because i barely used it.

It's interesting that you mentioned the different types of Chanel caviar leather. I have 4 caviar pieces and on each one the leather is not just different, it's really different. I really found this helpful. Could you do an opposite one? On which leathers and bags you have found are the worst for wear and tear?
My most durable bag has been the Oroton Estate Tote. It's in very thick saffiano leather inside and out and looks like it is halfway between the Neverfull and the Perry tote in design. It has been my everyday summer bag for about 5 years and has been through almost everything a bag can possibly be put through and there isn't a single sign of wear on it. I do find that some brands are the best at some styles and Oroton are the king of tote bags in my opinion. I have had many of them over the past 30 years or so and they are unbeatable.
I completely agree with your #1!! I got my Damier Azur GM in 2009 and it's a trooper. I don't ever baby my bags, and my LV GM has gone through rain, snow, sand and she's still looking lovely. The vachetta is very dark honey but I've never had to replace it (no cracks or peeling). The stitching has yet to fray and the hard wear has yet to tarnish. If you're talking value for money, LV is a go to.

My neverfull is 14years old and it’s slowly dying but I still abuse it for how useful and durable it is in ANY weather.
Lol at 'slowly dying'! I always have mixed feelings of both guilt and admiration for the bags I use and abuse haha
Mine was 17 and finally developed a small hole. I've passed it on to my daughter who has been using it for the past 2 years!

i have an lv speedy in the damier so the straps and everything still looks perfect and i've had it since high school and i'm 24 now. the bag still looks near perfect honestly and i've worn it everyday for like a few years, then switched to other bags that got ruined, went back to this. i would a million percent recommend the lv canvas. (i don't stuff the bag though i probably should, i am careful if i have makeup or hand cream i generally keep it in a makeup bag, i literally keep the bag on my bedroom floor sometimes too i do not baby it so yeah).

I only have two designer bags and both are amazing when durability is considered. I have a Philip Lim Pashli in medium size and a LV vintage pochette in LV canvas. Pashli is made from thick, grained and laquered calf leather, it's almost 7 years old now and it's going strong, no signs of wear at all. My vintage pochette is a pre-loved one. I bought it off a lady who also got it pre-loved on the real real, so it's seen a lot but it's in such prestine condition it's insane. It looked like a new one after all those owners and I am wearing it every day since I got it 1.5 year ago and it has absolutely no signs of wear (I shoulld probably take care of the strap though or get a new one 'cause I wasn't particularly careful with it and it's seen better days XD). I would recommend both to anyone who is intrested in buying either :)

So wonderful to see another video from you, Amie!-so informative. Your taste is impeccable! My large size Chanel top handle is in green caviar leather. My Chanel WOC is in black caviar leather. My Chanel 2019 red zippy purse is in lambskin. I am ‘afraid’ for it, 😉, but, it is soo pretty and luxurious! I LOVE them all! Someday, I will take the plunge and purchase a Chanel lambskin bag...maybe. I LOVE your tip on obtaining a lambskin for a smaller, more evening-type of bag. Makes sense! Thank you! ❤️👜❤️

I just purchased my first preloved Chanel small classic flap in caviar. It arrives today! So excited.
I have 3, besides my Neverfulls. My first two are LV. I have the Belen which I got in 2006 or 2007 in the DE print. It’s a smaller bag but really packs a punch in that I can get sooo much in it. My Speedy 30 is from 2008 and it’s been all over the country (USA) and two continents. My Chanel PST (from 2008) has held up fairly well being that it’s caviar leather; bottom corners are kinda smooshed but that’s my fault cuz I didn’t know how to store it properly 🤦🏼♀️. And my Chanel WOC also caviar is a total trooper too. Thanks so much for posting!! 💖 June

I've had my Chanel caviar jumbo for 14 years now...and it mainly shows corner wear. I've used it loads and it was my every day bag for probably 2 years, but the corners are definitely worn. It definitely looks fantastic and I still get compliments when I occasionally wear it. But not indestructible.

Your Mulberry bayswater looks beautiful! I had to sell mine because the edge paint was peeling off as soon as I got it, barely any wear. It seemed to be a defect. The leather was divine though!

I own a furla Julia. It's made of crosshatch leather and is super durable. It's been very well used and abused too thanks to my toddler. She has stepped and climbed on it and it still stays in shape and not even a single dent nor corner wear. The best cheap bag I've ever bought and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another colour tbh. 😁 I know the fate of my bags so I won't be wearing expensive ones when I go out with my child without my husband. 😂

I have my Prada sofiano bag in red. Absolutely love her. It’s been with me for a few years and it’s so convenient. But I have to agree, it’s a little bit weighty.
Awesome video. I have to agree my most hard wearing luxury purses are my Louis purses. I have two over 15 years old. They look used but not beat up. My other bags are relatively new (5 years old or so). I got my Chanel jumbo in caviar since it was my first Chanel but I want a mini in lamb. Interesting though I find my newer Louis to be more pliable and squishy and my older bags stiff. I appreciate how well my older bags have held up but I love the squishy feel of my artsy and Palm Springs mini and even my speedy. My Hermes Evelyn is squishy and soft. Hmmm 🤔 I think I’m partial to squishy and soft purses. Lol 😂
I’m loving the celine nano belt bag and cannot help but feel like the Senreve design is so similar! Is it just me? Would rather go for celine I think as they are pure luxury 😍
I have high hopes for My YSL LouLou Puffer, I used it heavily as soon as I bought it and I checked it obsessively and it's immaculate. So far YSL gets my top marks for quality! 🤩 I was a huge fan of Mulberry but when the CEO changed the quality took a nosedive and the prices pretty much tripled overnight! They used to be a great quality, affordable luxury brand, much loved by the middle-classes, but seemed to decide they wanted to be 'true' luxury and priced out their key demographic. I've sold most of mine now.
Yeah I remember those price bumps. They do seem to have kept their prices steady for a while though which I think is good. It's crazy to even say this but it's getting increasingly harder to find luxury bags under £1000 - hopefully they stay below that price point! And totally agree re: puffer! It's such a dark horse!

My YSL WOC in Black is still in perfect condition (several years old) and my LVs definitely! I have two vintage LVs and two newer ones and can tell the difference in thickness of the canvas

I think Chanel has done something to their lambskin. I have a whole black chevron shiny lamb leather jumbo. Oh my. It rubbs off the color just by looking at it. But my mini black lambskin. I've used it soo soo much. Not a scratch, scuff or mark. The leather on the mini is much more matt and durable!

Mulberry leather lasts forever but it is a heavy bag so don’t use it that often Celine luggage tote also durable but again this bag is heavy and bulky to carryThe leather trim on the Neverfull water spots. Just my personal experiences no shade
I actually find Dior lamb skin more durable than Chanel! I have the pearly pink mini lady Dior too and it’s wearing beautifully. Can’t say the same about my Chanel mini. Although I have another older lambskin mini that’s worn well. So might be the decreasing quality in recent years 🧐

How has the strap for the senreve fair for you? I've been considering a senreve for my work bag but I've read that people complained about the strap a lot.
Viet Luong on my larger Maestra I had an issue, but the company resent me a long strap, and so far that and my other bags are fine. They will either fix or send you a replacement for issues, take a look at the statement on their website for that topic
In terms of wear? Mine have been totally fine - no issues at all.

my super mini gucci marmont did not do well after a couple of wears, it lost its shape fast and leather was creasing i was so dissapointed and totally regret that purchase, ended up selling it for so much less :(
