do you mind sharing the file for the antirotation bracket or the link to get it my searching has left me empty handed. i am gathering all the stuff to build one myself its too cool not too
Nice work. A wedge tip for your iron will make life much easier for you. Also when you buy electronics (LEDs, resistors, caps, etc.) and you only need one or two, always buy 100. You'll build stock over time and almost never run out. Also you can get spools of silicone wires of most colors in a complete kit. Another life saver instead of burning through a JST kit which is more useful on its own.
Oh yea I solder for a living and for my business. I have 12 different tips for my Hakko I just didn't feel like swapping it out for the quick job haha. And I have a whole box of assorted SMT plus a storage rack full of assorted THT electronic components... just didn't have any 5mm NeoPixels :)
Good initiative !!! Some guys on RCgroup did this mod already , but posted no video, seems they are not too satisfied with the performance. Hope U will succeed that way.
It definitely has some limitations being built cheaply as more of a toy, but with good software and some initiatives like greasing the blade grips, you can make it considerably better :) I much enjoy flying mine, even though I'm not really into scale flying.
@@BladeScraper Yes, it seems U came from 3D style flying. I hate 3d flight coz even a military heli does not go upside down. However, I like the 3d pilot's skill & wish to have that. 😍
@@fklotaloi Check out the red bull bo105. It does sport flying :) 3D flying isn't intended to be realistic, that's what scale helis are for. 3D is intended to be cool, and show off reaction time and years of practice. Different strokes for different folks :)
@ ;( i’m kind of a noob and I’m learning still I bought this as my first helicopter and I really want it to be as smooth as possible. I would even be willing to pay someone to do this to mine lol, by watching your video, it looks very involved more than I’m willing to do probably at least right now anyway
@ you would think that, however there’s a video of another guy on here flying the C138 with optical flow and the factory radio it flies like complete crap, then he switches over to the TX 16 and it flies absolutely perfect. It will hold a exact position. That’s what I want. My C189 to do. Thoughts?
I do have another question for you lol did you gain any range by doing this? I would imagine yes or do you not really know because you probably didn’t use the factory stuff much? Super curious what the max range is you can get with tour setup ( hypothetically if you could see it like if you had an FPV camera on it like how far will it go reliably lol)
oh definitely. I'm using ELRS on this, the range is certainly further than I can see. I could do FPV with it without issue. ELRS is what most people use for FPV these days.
@ which FPV camera would you personally think would be best suited for this helicopter as you have much more experience I’m curious what you would choose if you were gonna do it
@@Truth.Love.Liberty I don't know, I don't really do FPV much. Currently all I have is DJI HD, but I think that VTX/Camera would be too big and heavy for this heli. I'd probably look into Walksnail or HDZero for something like this.
dont they have a rotortech fcu, the nexus from radiomaster. i really want to do this to mine. i like it but the stock flight controller isnt great and i dont like auto level
That is so cool can't wait to see flight video. The soft start is a great touch. Thank you for sharing

Nicely done video! I really need to do this to my S2....
amazing video detailing your products, makes it way more viable now that we know what to do with the pads!

Neat little project.
Hope you caught that one reversed main blade right at the end
Yep I did haha, thanks!
I want to do this to my s2. I know you've done this to your m2 as well right?
Yup, same adapter board and FC (but the F7 version)
@BladeScraper thanks. Appreciate it
I like your instructional videos Keith. You do a good job and I hope you can make more in the future. Do you like RF better than Ikon 2 at this point?
Thanks! Yeah for sure. I only have one iKON2 heli left, and it's just because I don't feel like figuring out nitro on Rotorflight yet :P
evans designs makes great leds, the have umx styles but much smaller, originally for model trains
I'll check them out for the C186!
@BladeScraper I spent a few hundred, the pico z are like a grain of sand. Excellent quality.
I used a magic wand on mine. It turned out perfect lol.
you make and the c 186 MAX with the ROTORFLY?
How many degrees is the swashplate phase angle set? Thanks a lot!
Soooo Cool
Is it neccasary to do this if i just bind it to a tx16s radiomaster instead? Wouldnt that give it a smoothe flight?
I don't think that would make a difference, the real difference is in the FC software (Rotorflight).

@@Truth.Love.Liberty You can always give it a shot. I don't really have any thoughts beyond that, I never really used the stock FC.

I’m trying to avoid analog

shoulda watched til the end lol, you obviously have one lol, im behind on tech lol
Which vhb tape do you use?

Thanks
How much you want to convert mine 😅
