@@MeBeTheDB Well, two years later I am not sure I feel the same way. It seems that the human race has turned its back on science, truth, and anything that would resemble the world of Trek. I have lost faith. I am afraid we won't go to the stars as promised by Sagan, Roddenberry, other great dreamers. We were destroyed. We will die on this rock.

How?? How did you make this look so real?? It’s incredible! You can see the texture of the leather on the chairs. And smudges and subtle fingerprints on the black control surfaces. It’s stunning! Just astounding realism. Bravo!!
That rocket-ship design treatment with the shiny black consoles with red trim and blue seats and that damn whistling computer.... it manages to be terribly retro and touchingly nostalgic all at once.
Beautifully done! Never occurred to me that the Scope/Viewfinder at the helm had doors covering the compartment. Now I need to watch all 79 episodes and make note of every use of the Scope...
On the actual set, they had a bathroom just to the left of the main screen/ viewer, which is why you never see that area in view, in any of the episodes, according to a former (US Navy) shipmate, back in 1986, who took a tour of the set.
That was so much fun! I'm such a trek dork I love it! All those buttons and dials that looked so "space like" back in the day! What a riot! More please. One about weapons and tech.👍🖖😃
Great video! I've been turning clips of this into Zoom backgrounds (for my personal use). They help make doing remote work a little more bearable (and fun!).
Stunning work. I'm actually working on my own version of this as a way of updating my 3d knowledge, and learn Unreal. My own version is far from finished, and not as good as yours but I'm really enjoying the work. You have inspired me, thank you.
I love the shot at 1:28 you almost never see that pov of the bridge.. It really captures how much is going on but also how bland the ceiling would have been if you had to do a shift under it for 8 hours. Also how small the view screen is... Scotty would have had real trouble making things out even with increased magnification. Beautiful work.
I like how the design for this set managed to seem functional from a fictional standpoint and you could shoot all the camera angles you needed to create the drama within a relatively small space by moving out the sections of the bridge set. Happy accident in that the set had the multiple levels in order to make room for wheels under the floor for the sections to move, but having the different levels makes for more interesting camera angles....point up...point down...over the shoulder...screen...elevator...crew stations as viewed from all the other stations...etc. Plus the whoever is in the Captain's chair doesn't have to look up to talk to someone standing on the ground next to him. It really is a great design and after all these years still works visually. We all should have an "office" as cool as this one. The word "iconic" is WAY overused these days, but the Matt Jefferies design work absolutely is just that.
Very cool Donny Let me make sure I've got this straight... This was completely simulated / rendered on the computer? ...You artificially recreated the whole thing, including the lighting, shadows, etc using the programs you mentioned in the credits? It looks so real, as if you were actually standing on the set panning around with a video camera. VERY impressive man. I enjoyed watching it and I am going to share it on my FB page on Tuesday / 911 (2018). Feel free to stop by / or message me and say hello. Hondo Murray Council Bluffs, IA
Thank you for sharing this. It is EVIDENCE, plain as day, that the original set looks sexy as hell. Properly lit, this set could absolutely stand-up on a modern HD show. Alex Kurtzman and his fellow hacks want to re-invent the wheel, but I wish Star Trek’s visual continuity was respected as it makes the franchise more cohesive and provides greater universe-building. If Disney had decided to redesign and redecorate the Millenium Falcon there would be outrage. What a shame Trek doesn’t get the same respect.
1:52 Captain Christopher Pike: "What are we running here, Number One, a cadet ship? Are we ready or not?" Number One: "All decks report ready, sir." Captain Christopher Pike: "Engage."
This is undoubtedly the most detailed and accurate recreation of the TOS bridge that I've ever seen. Bravo! Nevertheless, I have a couple of nitpicks: 1. The communication station (closeup at 1:00) never contained two sets of rocker switches. A single set of switches was originally (and during the entire first season) located in the position of the right-hand switches in your recreation, and during the second and third seasons the (single) set of switches was **moved** to the position of the left-hand switches in your recreation. This is documented by Will Smith ("feek61") at the Tosgraphics site: www.tapatalk.com/groups/tosgraphics/new-bridge-communications-station-t450.html ------------- The only other significant change in the Communications Station was the location of the rocker switches which were moved after the first season. The original location of the rocker switches matched the other stations on the bridge which was located on the RH center of the console just below the smaller control panel at location 3. After the first season the rocker switches were moved to the lower LH center of the console near the bottom which made them much more visible from the commonly used camera angles because they were no longer behind the actress sitting at the console. The hole where the rocker switches were originally located was covered by a piece of black plastic for the rest of the series. . . ==== 2. Similarly, the engineering station (closeup at 1:09) also never contained two sets of rocker switches. The switch set at this station was located as with the communication station during the first season, and was never relocated. Christ, I had no idea this was all CG until the end - although that scanner that pops out of the helm looked a little off. I just assumed that was CG. Great work!
SPC74 what looks off about it? It moves the exact same way in the episodes (see Spock's Brain) and the geometry was built based off of actual measurements.
That's amazing, I got the feels. I so wanted to peek into Spock's viewer, lol! For the first time ever I think I got the impression the coloured lower lighting maybe indicated what type of work station it was, is that right?
0:34 I love that. Interesting that you show the original chronometers instead of the remastered version. Even though I like the original chronometers and looks neat, is it wrong to prefer the remastered version?
I wonder if colour TV had come along earlier, would they have still made it look pretty yet not entirely practical, because I bet someone must've asked what all the different coloured lights actually did on the bridge, but it was a busy set, but more fun than some of the ones that followed, in the films.
It is still amazing to me how many of us want to go there, to live there, to be there. Keep working to make the dream a reality.

@Galileo7of9 No it isn't, but the music is from "The Cage".

The science station at 0:52 could only be occupied by one officer. RIP Spock/Leonard Nimoy.
What are the wall stations that aren’t Spock, Scott, or Uhura’s?
What's the difference between the Season 3 bridge and the Season 1 & 2 bridge(s)? Just curious.
Didn't realize this was a 3D modeled recreation until the end, thought it was some obscure footage someone recorded of an IRL replica!

Seriously. Something like this ported to the Vive Destinations would be absolutely insane. I'd die of nostalgia and happiness on the virtual spot.
Or Steam VR Home now that they've kinda merged the two.
Or even simple 3D 360 still pictures for Cardboard/Gear VR like the ones they had on youtube for Stage 9 a while ago.
