I came across this song a few weeks ago at work, after first discovering it over 5 years ago. I was about to comment this whole essay, but I've had time to process think about what this song means to me and convey my feelings more succinctly. Back when I first heard this song, I was going through a rough patch and dealing with a lot of life changes. I just started getting into wave at the time, but this track stood out to me, in that it evoked a feeling of intense longing, but also exuded feelings of hope and ecstasy. I am blessed to be where I am today, and I wish I could go back and tell my old self, listening to an audio rip of this on his iPhone 4s at the train stop, just how far he came. I don't usually like posting long comments like this, but I am thankful to be a part of this online wave community, and I thought this was significant enough to share. I hope everyone reading has a great day and gets through any tough times they may be going through.
Nothing wrong with sharing a feeling brother! I relate to this song as well. The 1st time I heard it was around 5 years ago too, I was fresh on my first job at a camera equipment rental house. I used the song on a couple of Instagram stories edits back then, because I could connect so much to it, I wanted people to do too. 5 years on and I've been blessed to travelled the world working on what I love. It's the kind of music you'd be listening to when the comets struck the earth, there's a 5 mile high tsunami wave approaching, everyone's gone, fleeing from the terror as if they've got somewhere safe to go. but not you. No. You're sitting on the beach, barefoot, smirk on your face, facing the ocean...Yeah. You feel it.
Theres a gentleman that did exactly this when that sri lanken tsunami hit a few years ago. Everyone else was panicking and uselessly sprinting away (they wouldnt make it) but not he. He just stood on the beach and watched the wave come blistering in. He didnt even flinch when the massive wall of water hit him and blasted him away. I wonder what he felt in those moments. His memory will never leave me.
