Ya, honestly, my excitement bubble also deflated quite a bit this past week or so. I'm still very looking forward to TBC as a whole, but I went from completely excited, to a bit hesitantly optimistic.
@Zerbraxi Gaming the low level rank buffs was originally not in vanilla and only added with tbc pretpatch. They forgot to remove it from wow classic, so it already worked the whole time
I had forgotten about the dungeon loot updates. Like I knew there were blues in RFC when I started in TBC (and was quite surprised there wasn't in Classic), but hadn't crossed my mind that was happening now.

9:06 i can confirm that jewelcrafting trainers are available, and that you can train jewelcrafting. Though none of the gemcutting recipes exist yet. Tested this on the PTR yesterday.
Honestly, I was looking forward to prepatch a lot, more so than TBC itself in the short term at least. I was looking forward to having a month to get a shaman up and do some skirmishes and BGs in the down time and collect some of that nice gear. Now at two weeks, I'll be busting my balls to get a shaman to 60, and won't really have time to do anything else. Big disappointment on the prepatch side of things, but on the bright side, we'll be through the dark portal sooner.
@@ZerbraxiWoW Nice! Appreciate it. I still have screenshots of how my UI used to look back in the day in TBC(During Karazan raids etc.) buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut that "UI" was horrible :D
Hey Zerbraxi, we all know the cost of the purple pvp gear by now through all the videos on it, but what are the costs of the blue set and off pieces? Something that may be "good enough" for fresh 60's who may not want to go all the way for the purple set. Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't have an official website I can link you with guaranteed accurate values at the moment. Even tbc.wowhead.com isn't updated for the values. I do show off some of the currency costs in one of my previous videos, but your best bet right now would be to take a couple minutes to download the PTR, which is pre patch right now, and go mark down the cost of the items. The honor cost isn't going to be the "challenging part" since Honor comes at you pretty regularly. The time consuming part will most definitely be the Marks of Honor.

And also the abilities that you'd get from AQ20 skill books, MC 1st boss, Strat living food book, etc. are available at class trainers, though Fireball is interesting. The rank we get from AQ20 says it requires lvl 62 from the trainer. Guess mages have been using a lvl 62 spell before it was cool, huh. And it just seems to be Fireball, not Frostbolt or Arcane Missles. The others say lvl 60.
The LFG tool wasnt on Beta, Blizz just talked about it during blizzcon are we really sure its ready with prepatch or even launch? It would have been so easy for Blizz to have guild banks ready with launch but im sooo disappointed that it isnt a thing and I still need multiple character slots just to store my stuff
This is one of the weird things with Blizzard lately. They've gone back on quite a few comments they made during Blizzconline. Some of them I like, for example them addressing some of the progressive itemization. However it does make creating content like this so difficult when they're saying one thing but doing something else.
Hey @Zerbraxi, do you have a source for the group finder? I know they mentioned it in the roundtable but it's still not made an appearance in beta or ptr. I keep checking for it, instant account mail and guild banks every day on the beta.
Hmmm, I wonder if they double backed on this? I could've sworn I remembered them mentioning it during Blizzconline that it would be dropping at the start like it did originally. If I end up being incorrect I'll pin an update to this video. I'll keep an eye out just in case.
great video!! been watching the streams recently too and they’re amazing, i hope it wasn’t too mean to ask you for a work story then ban the word work ;)
What is FOCUSFRAME? i mean more in detail, i understand its related to the target you look at? But im unsure here. You needed a visual there to show what it meant :D.
Ohh interesting. I kinda assumed that everyone knew what it was. Definitely a misstep on my part. The focus frame allows you to target a mob, make it your focus, and another target window of them appears separate from your primary target. This allows you to monitor that target separately for reasons such as when your CC might break from them, when they're going to cast a spell, etc.
@@ZerbraxiWoW Or if you use classic raid/dungeon frames, you can put focus on the tank or someone else important so you always know where they are :) Or at least you can in a later expansion... Hmm
I can't seem to find an updated value list so unfortunately I can't give you a strong number. As for how it's gained you will gain honor in all the same ways you do now still so via HK's, BG's wins, etc.
Think it's less honor rewarded now that it has a use however it's not the honor that will take time to get it's the tokens. With only 2 weeks to farm before launch you would need to win a lot of games or play a lot of loses to get the tokens needed for full g14.
Only reason I didn't include this in the video is because I know for certain that come TBC you can change the specializations, but I couldn't find any confirmation anywhere about this happening for Pre Patch. My gut feeling is that you will be able to but I just can't confirm that 100%.
... so why did you mention focus frame but not say or show what it is?? I'm not familiar with TBC or retail so I have no idea what you're talking about...
It essentially acts as a second target that you can monitor as an individual target frame. For example, if you target a mob, type /focus, an additional frame will appear to the side that will allow you to monitor that mob as if it was your primary target. You can only have one target focused at any given moment.
2 weeks is plenty of time to hit 60 but at the same time what's the rush? just to get to outlands and fight for mobs with 100 other people . i just don't see the need to rush enjoy tbc will be around for awhile.
That's mostly been my sentiment as well, though I've already cleared everything there is to do in TBC so my perspective is very different from those who are super hyped to try it for the first time.
Ya I do feel bad for people rerolling to the new races/classes. 2 weeks is nowhere near enough time for the overwhelming majority of players to level up to 60 even with the new exp changes.
No one hated lfg in tbc they just didnt use it until trade didnt fill the group, then in wrath still not hated but more adopted the hate came in to the automation
Our experience was very different then. On my server, and from podcasters at the time, I remember the distaste for the existence of the tool instead of encouraging people to search via social means.
@@ZerbraxiWoW so tell me what wrong with clicking on the meeting/summon stone while you look in /4 for a group cuz that was tbc lfg or you lose a member and all you need to do is open up and start whispering people in channel
@@Stompinwind That's how the tool existed pre-tbc and was the original purpose of Meeting stones when they were added in patch 1.3. Come patch 2.0.1 the LFG interface was added which allows you to actually list specific dungeons and groups in a UI window that can be accessed from anywhere, which is the example I showed in the video. I am a bit confused as to why you're asking me to call out what's wrong about a system I never made a comment on about my personal opinion. If I state in a video that "people didn't like it" that by no means is the same as "I don't like it". I try to be very clear when I'm talking about my personal stance and opinion. Personally, I don't have a problem with the tool.
@@ZerbraxiWoW but if you look at 2.1 you will see the only way you could even be in /lfg was if you were using the tool which is what made it amazing I hate having to turn on lfg chat when I'm not looking for a group I still believe you saying people didn't like it would be in reference to the 3.3 version I have more people on ignore for asking me to heal dungeons in classic than I do for spam and advertising due to unsolicited requests for me to do a dungeon that i was not looking for
@@ZerbraxiWoW I think he meant (to ask) what the people of your server and the podcasters found wrong with the system. His argument is that it doesn't actually change anything deeper, it only conveniently lists people looking for your dungeon in the interface, but you still need to message them personally and invite them to your group, no automation. That's what I recall from TBC as well.

The idea that it's to increase boost sales would make more sense if Belf and Draenei were available from the boost. The fact they aren't just makes the 2 week window all the more confusing.
@@ZerbraxiWoW perhaps they want players to start asking for the boost to be extended to the new races? A bit tinfoil hat though, but with Activiblizzard I wouldn't be surprised. More likely though it's because of exterior reasons such as earnings report, AoC amongst others
@@ZerbraxiWoW It makes perfect sense here, 2 weeks is barely just enough to level up a BE or draenei to 60, not even geared. Of course that's for most normal players, not the hardcores. If you want to level up another lv 60 before TBC, buying the lv 58 boost from blizzard is probably the only option for you. Not to mention most people need to play their main a lot during pre-patch.
People pay 50-70 dollars a month for stupid mobile games And they complain about an OPTIONAL deluxe edition for 69 dollars for the greatest game ever created Drama queens
My opinion on either example is contextual. The latter example is anti-consumer on several levels as indicated in my previous video on the topic, actually I have 2. I'm not alone in that department either as many critics, and even developers/designers have given editorials and long form panels about this type of business model in a box price/sub fee/microtransaction market. It's not drama, it's a discussion about business models in an industry. That's a very reasonable topic for debate I'd say.
@@ZerbraxiWoW Why do you think clash of clans makes 3 times more money than wow the greatest game of all time? It's because the world of video games has changed And if we keep attacking blizzard or other companies charging more money for OPTIONAL content we will destroy those games and all companies will divert to stupid mobile games We have to defend blizzard not attack them
@@marwantawfiq I still fail to see how this means that we shouldn't criticize both models. Just because 1 business model might be even more egregious or offensive doesn't mean that I'll jump to the defense of the other, also bad one. We can criticize both to varying degrees and use good examples as to which each should emulate. Though, a quick aside. This video wasn't "attacking" blizzard. While I vehemently disagree with this model, my main conclusion was mostly aimed at the customer. This doesn't excuse Blizzard, but it also puts some responsibility on the general population who fund this practice with their own money, and they in return actually get less content for more money.
@@ZerbraxiWoW yes exactly. I mean your vids could also be just a podcast but I watched your video and I find the footage of different expansion misleading and unfitting.

It's just us here in the void lol
Can we meet Paul? ples
I'm not sure that's really a good idea. He's currently busy trying to figure out what Honor is used for still.
Guild banks?
Did they actually confirm this was happening in Phase 1? For some reason I had thought this wasn't going to be there. Could totally be wrong though.
They have not been confirmed, nor are they active in beta or PTR yet. Still holding out hope.
Wait so me and the boys can't keep someone perma sheeped now? Lame
Ya, unfortunately that person is gonna be able to play the game now LOL
Classic Lauch: Get people hooked and fooled
Classic TBC: The first iteration of Money Grab Shop
Classic WoTLK: Huge revenue for Blizzard from the shop
Classic Cata: Pay To Win model firstly introduced
Classic MoP: Blizzard milked the last money out of the game
WoW 2 gets announced...
Can confirm I was hooked and fooled lol. Still am.
2 weeks of pre-patch eh? Blizzard really want to sell their boost service.
People pay 50-70 dollars a month for stupid mobile games
And they complain about an OPTIONAL deluxe edition for 69 dollars for the greatest game ever created
Drama queens
My opinion on either example is contextual. The latter example is anti-consumer on several levels as indicated in my previous video on the topic, actually I have 2. I'm not alone in that department either as many critics, and even developers/designers have given editorials and long form panels about this type of business model in a box price/sub fee/microtransaction market. It's not drama, it's a discussion about business models in an industry. That's a very reasonable topic for debate I'd say.
@@ZerbraxiWoW
Why do you think clash of clans makes 3 times more money than wow the greatest game of all time?
It's because the world of video games has changed
And if we keep attacking blizzard or other companies charging more money for OPTIONAL content we will destroy those games and all companies will divert to stupid mobile games
We have to defend blizzard not attack them
@@marwantawfiq I still fail to see how this means that we shouldn't criticize both models.
This doesn't excuse Blizzard, but it also puts some responsibility on the general population who fund this practice with their own money, and they in return actually get less content for more money.
like your vids but hate that you show wrong verions of wow material in your videos
What do you mean? Like different expansions?
@@ZerbraxiWoW yes exactly. I mean your vids could also be just a podcast but I watched your video and I find the footage of different expansion misleading and unfitting.
@@fischerderheld4407 Hmm, I'll try and see if I can get better at it. However, some of it is more complicated. For example, I can't capture footage of the Draenei starting zone in TBC because I don't have Classic TBC beta. Therefore I'm forced to either use someone else's content or just use my own from live. It's a hard balance to strike.
I too found the dungeon footage a little confusing, I could not remember it from TBC ;D
But it's not too bad, just one thing you could flesh out if you feel like it.
@@ZerbraxiWoW yea i understand that struggle! maybe Private server footage ? i use several private servers for my personel testin but especially to talk to longtime pvp players! thanks for anserwing my comment!
shameless shilling, the arena changes are garbage!
First time I've ever been called a Blizzard shill. Is this what irony feels like?
