    Red Bull Air Race pilot Hannes Arch, Austria, pulls 11.2G in the Rotterdam race during practice on July 17, 2008.
    --
    About: The Red Bull Air Race World Championship features the world's best pilots in a motorsports competition based on speed, precision and skill. Using the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes, Red Bull Air Race pilots navigate a low-level aerial race track made up of air filled pylons, flying at speeds reaching 230mph while withstanding forces of up to 10g. The objective is to complete the course, navigating the 65 feet high specially designed inflatable pylons known as Air Gates in the fastest possible time. Red Bull Air Race pilots must pass between the Air Gates in the correct position taking care not to touch them with their wings. The pilots compete for points at each Red Bull Air Race and the one who accumulates the most at the end of the season is crowned Red Bull Air Race World Champion.

This pilot, however has complete control over the plane. Not that his flying isn't impressive as hell, but you can't directly compare it to roller coasters by G forces in loops.

    You guys need to understand the difference between a sustained G and a momentary G. These aircraft would not be capable, nor the pilot capable, of 11g sustained for any length of time. 11g momentary is not that big a deal and there is a good chance many of you have experienced several G's of force for short periods of time. For instance a 140lb person jumping 10 feet to the ground and taking .1 second to come to a stop, would experience 7.14 G's for a fraction of a second. A person in a 35mph car accident would experience several dozen G's for a fraction of a second as well. So yes, even a non jet engine plane can pull 11g's but it's likely the sustained values were much lower and any 11g force would have been momentary like at the fraction of a second he first pulled back on the stick.

      Not all of their body would stop at once. The feet and shin bones would take the most force. The knees would absorb some of the shock, transferring it to the hips, then the soft organs, muscle and fat would react last. Again we are talking fractions of a second, the person would likely walk away without a problem if they landed right. Picture a body builder pushing 800lbs on a leg press, their legs don't break, it's just very hard to do.

My highest jump down to the ground without rolling movements at the bottom was around 12 feet. And I'm around 185lbs.....

    • @Anaximander29A
      @Anaximander29A 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joseph Stassup It's much easier to get kills with a mouse even in realistic mode. on the one hand the controls suck and it has nothing to do with a sim anymore, but your flightpath will be much smoother and you don`t need really to trim your aircraft. I really would give this game a second chance if mouseflying wouldn't be allowed in "realistic mode" anymore. Or if they simply add a only HOTAS mode.

      The aircraft used in Red Bull Air Races have a very high thrust to weight ratios and high maneuverability, so even at their lower speeds they can pull higher G's. The F-22 has super-maneuverability, so it might be able to pull more than 9 G's, but since so much is classified about the F-22, we still don't know.

    • @MilanVVVVV
      @MilanVVVVV 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    How is 11.2G any high for Red Bull air race pilot? They pull those peak Gs at the end for very short time and there is actually I think 14G limit, when you go over it, you are DSQ for dangerous flying and it happens sometimes.

    • @JohnyAngelo
      @JohnyAngelo 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** Its not only about the Gs. It's very important for how long those Gs are spllying onto your body. When you are in mild carcrash it can be easily 25G-50Gs but its for like 0.01 sec, so there is no lethal damage. The loop those redbull racers are doing have those peak Gs for like .. not even a full second.

The pilot though couldn't sustain it. An acrobatic plane like this could do many times the 13 g's they're talking about.. probably 30 to 40. they're built to be virtually impossible to fold the wings.

    One eventually will either black out or have the plane shed some parts and will plant itself into the side of a building.
    It will later in the future be remembered as "Do you remember when...."

    It's visible the guy's pulling some heavy G's, but there's no monitor indication they might be actual 11.2G

    for all those ppl saying there is no way this is 11 g yall do know that they pull 11g regularly at these races .. a pilot got disqualified before for over g because he did over 13 g so its 100% possible
