    Yes the consumable explanation was definitely good. Dean, yours and Dan Dulac’s Project Top Gun build has been my favorite Ultima builds to date. Two excellent examples of deferent engine choices and build ethos. With each being quite entertaining, and impressive. Of course I watched his over a reasonable two year period, but yours only finding it recently, I watched it in an obsessive two week binge…thank you very much ;) Seriously though, I loved it. Thank you Dean, keep up the great work.

      No problem, I love making the content and build the Ultima - of course. Much more to come, back in the Dean Den tomorrow

    Oh wow, this is coming along so nicely Nigel. I have always preferred the shapes the vinyls create, hugely improves the look of the car in my opinion.

      Hi Ian, yes it's an amazing transformation and makes the car transforms the look of the car. One thing to add pictures do not reflect simply how low this car is and how aggressive it looks. Been working on some smaller jobs over the weekend. Next on the to do list is to fit that rear wing

    Nigel,
    Another great chapter. At first I was wondering, "why the vinyl", but ahh ha I see the results. Your car is looking pretty slick and very aggressive. You did the vinyl without water. Of course with your usual level of preparation it worked out perfectly. I'm looking forward to Chapter 49.

      Thanks, and yes at first it sounds like an odd process but once applied it absolutely transforms the car. In the Dean Den this weekend fitting that huge rear wing :-)

    Coming right along sir. You inspire me to get out into my garage and work on my own project. But with these 100 degree days we've been having it's tough! C'mon fall!

      Hi Kurt, well for me it's the opposite. Temps are starting to fall in the UK and I will soon have to start putting on the central heating in the Dean Den. :-)

    The process is called ‘burnishing’… from my graphic arts days years ago. Very tedious but you did an excellent job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 it gives a mean look to the beast🤘🤘🤘

    The screen and door stickers do look very cool. I enquired re my red GTR, sadly the red I have is different to the red they now use. I did however buy and install the black stickers to the top of the screen and side doors. Looking forward to the engine install, Ultima did that part for me, it was above my pay grade. It won’t be an issue for Nigel though.

      HaHa, well you can watch me pop the V8 and transaxle in soon. It's a fairly simple job actually even though many people see it as daunting

    AS always an excellant episode, wasn't sure about putting vinyls on it to start with but boy what a tranformation and well worth it. Does beg the question though...why didnt they make the windscreen and side window that shape to start with?

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question. The shape of the Ultima's windscreen and side windows has been the same for decades. It was only the later models that Ultima started applying vinyl to the car as a sun strip and then extended to side windows to change the appearance. Not everyone likes this approach, so keeping the windscreen and side windows the same gives builders an option.

    Looking good. Does Ultima provide replacement vinyl kits too? I know for a regular car if you leave it out in the sun and the elements that vinyl only last about 5 years or so. After that it begins to fade and lose its color. Provided I doubt your car will be stored outside for long periods of time.

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep the vinyl kit is an optional extra and can be purchased separately.

      She is coming together and Part 49 will be posted this Friday. The number of ULTIMA parts to fit is dwindling :-)

    I really don't understand the purpose of these vinyls. isn't it better to have more visibility in a car that might not have the creates situational awareness? like you're trying to race through a port hole on a boat.

    • @mattleckenby6460
      @mattleckenby6460 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have an Ultima GTR, I’ve got the side and top windscreen stickers, they are just sun screens really and very much needed. The visibility in these cars is massive, the lower stickers won’t cause any issues with visibility.

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. However, having built, owned and driven an Ultima GTR for over a year the visibility in these cars is amazing. In fact you get so much light in the cockpit, a low sun can be a little challenging with no sun visors. In the UK such cars have to be tested for visibility by a tester sitting in the car and looking in the mirrors etc to view a set of marked poles which are set at given distances. The visibility has to meet European standards which it does with flying colours with and without the vinyles. Cheers Nigel
