I choose Vivo for overall performance, it's simply better in most of the scenario, i love the design too. The only wins for Honor is Day Light main primary Camera output and the fantastic Selfie performance which is so good. Very good comparison 👏🏻👌👍
Having using the vivo X90 pro plus,other than front camera it wins in most areas to my s23 ultra.Hans review is spot on.That reviewing system is a mess.
This was a clear win for the Vivo x90 pro+ but I kind of expected the Honor to do worse to be honest. The most disappointing aspects were the zoom, portraits and ultrawide. I can't understand why they don't use the telephoto for portraits.The main camera was worse than the x90 pro+ at night for photos and video but around the same in daytime. Selfie photos were the strongest point. Definitely needs some updates to improve the camera performance and especially the consistency

I asked the if it supported gms but the Chinese version doesn't unfortunately. Otherwise I think I would have bought it but no gms is a bit too much of a nuisance for me.
😱 but the magic 5 pro is the best camera phone ever. I got melted by early hands-on and planned to buy it. You have opened my eyes. Ok I will wait for Oppo find x6 pro and if it's not good then I will import the Vivo x90 pro plus.

It seems that you shot a lot of photos in different scenarios. DXO if you notice, have ready reviews of Huawei and Honor's smartphones even before their official announcement. Hmmm, your comparison proves that, DXO isn't honest with their reviews (in general). Vivo here is my choise too and lets not forget that it is a phone too and at least for me ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is a must. Keep the good (honest) work.

When Honor was a part of Huawei in their GOLD days, it was a good sub brand, after Honor has left Huawei, it is still following the Huawei's path and trying to earn some cheap fame through Hypes and some ranking which in reality has no value
Yes something frustrating....that dxo mark give magic five the best score in zoom category......despite thats its only 3.5....and low light performance is not that good
These are both top notch camera systems, each with different tradeoffs. Looking objectively at all the samples shown I would say Vivo is better at telephoto and Honor is better at selfies. The rest of the differences are very nuanced, and not as dramatic as sometimes described in the video. A lot of it is subjective - for which there is no "winner" vs "loser". Your comments about Honor being "over-hyped" reveal a clear anti-Honor bias. I have read many, many reviews about Honor magic 5 pro. You can debate DXOMARK's top ranking , however every other trusted independent site has great things to say about HM5 pro. They are not ALL over-hyping.

Great comparison as always! Vivo X90 Pro+ beats them all! The only thing they need to get sorted is in nighttime video if you move the phone sideways it stutters. Other than that it's a perfect phone and a almost perfect camera system. Waiting for thr comparison with S23 Ultra!
I saw that there is a Honor magic 5 ultimate but didn't seem much different besides battery look "which is not as nice as the pro and has a leather style back besides glass. Sad it isn't really an ultimate version

Although I'm a Huawei fan and implicitly honor, yet rumors that DXOMark was paid to make promotion to this phone and be considered number 1 on the side of photography, it seems that they are true. I know honor copies from Huawei that model of Vivid pictures but I did not expect it to be so weak at night. Anyway, you can not as a normal user to take a phone just for cameras because the images are processed anyway by social media platforms or where you upload them.

Surprisingly. I actually prefer the human photos of the honor. Because of that white balance and beautification that is actually very nice and does not feel artificial. The only thing im disappointed about honor is them not using the telephoto lens on portrait mode and the horrendous video quality. Overall tho I agree with your decision han. I think honor will get better with updates #HTTsquad
Yeah, I totally agree with. Liked the human subject photos and was happy with the photos in general especially considering it's a lot cheaper than the x90 pro+. Video quality really needs improvement though. For me the video quality is disappointing especially in lowlight

the hot and cold shift weather to change suddenly has become norm thanx to global warmings ... as for phone, it was expected to see vivo shines over honor who is still trying hard to bring bac the Huawei lory of old days. maybe p60 pro will achieve that but who knows until you review it....
Honor has never been a good brand, when they were owned by Huawewi, they used to be a second tier brand like Redmi, and after Huawei sold honor, honor has became worse

Honor Magic 5 Pro is superb in selfie photos, selfie videos and day time main camera photos. Vivo X90 Pro Plus is superb in main camera photos and videos, ultra wide photos and videos.
