The audio version is being set up now, but it’ll probably be a day or so. After that, the audio version should release simultaneously with the video version going forward. 😎
I would love to know that too, because I want to use it for productivity too, if it could replace somewhat my macbook it would be ideal when traveling.
I am at 20:32 where you were talking about contact lenses. I have been doing VR since 2017 and I wear contact lenses and I’ve never had a problem. Well, I won’t be getting my Vision Pro on lunch date, I did start the process, and it seemed to be pushing you towards getting the lenses, even if you wear contact lenses. I play up to seven or eight hours a day and I have no problem. Of course I am playing on oculus. Maybe it’s an issue with the way Apple does it.
It's probably just me, I have super-sensitive eyes that get dry quickly with contacts. If you have no problems with Oculus or other headsets, you might be good. - Jeff
My last ipad was 2500. This is an ipad replacement and more. If I knew I could wear it for 10 hours it would be an easy buy. In my case I need to know the eye tracking works with my eye condition or the alternative is acceptable.
My family members are intrigued as to why the rush to get an eye exam, I just told them I feel as though I only see a limited number of objects in front of me, I need to see more 😂
I wonder if Netflix is going to try and get their cabin environment that they use on things like the quest set up for the Vision Pro. Maybe that’s the reason they’re delaying their app deployment to it
I've owned 5 VR headsets. Weight is noticeable. The Vision Pro is heavy. You will feel it. The only headset that is comfortable for me is my current Big Screen Beyond. Despite some of its downsides, I cant go back to heavy headsts again. Still excited to try Vision Pro. Im sure its great product.
I didn’t get an apple watch until gen 3, where it had enough features and was fully realized to justify the purchase. You know what they say: never buy a 1st gen product
While I agree, it's too tempting to try a product this different. From all accounts, even for a first gen product, it's pretty amazing. But absolutely a valid point, though.
@@9to5Mac trust me, I understand the temptation. But $3500+ is enough to deter me from making that impulse purchase. I have 0 issue spending that kind of money on tech like this, but it *has* to do more than watch barely a movie on the battery pack and messing around with my photo album (of which 80% are screenshots) in a 3D environment. I need a killer app for it. And the problem is, I just don’t know what that killer app would be. A game? Multi window Mac display? Honestly, I think the killer feature for it would be if it were the size of prescription glasses. I’d be in on day 1. It’s a really cool gimmick, but I can see myself getting bored of it after the honeymoon phase is over.
Hell yeah I got Apple care. It’d be crazy to not do so. If something happens to the internals, I’m basically stuck paying for a brand new unit in out of warranty costs.
I can’t say I blame you, but the initial price + deductible is super expensive. It may be easier to cope if it was a monthly fee. I guess it depends on how much I like it.
Great show. I knew Apple would offer storage options when they announced “starting at”. It was a smooth ordering process because Apple’s website can handle a million orders in its sleep. Why the sudden information dump of only having 10k units right before ordering started? All the supply chain information up until that point reported 500k units made. Releasing only 10k out of 500k at launch made zero sense. Reports now place sales at 180k. Cutting edge technology with limited supply is NEVER a mass consumption device when first released. Companies from automakers to medical equipment use high prices to limit demand. Apple’s 3 ideal 1st gen Vision Pro buyers are Developers or other people interested in working with the tech, critics/journalists whose job is to review, test or evaluate the product and “early adopters”, the typically wealthier, passionate and trendsetting shopper who determines whether the clothes, cars, computers… are “worth” it.
People have very short memories. Apple only sold 1.4 million iPhones in its first year. Seeing as how they’re projecting 500K units for the Vision Pro at well over $4000 on average including taxes, upgrades, accessories, Apple Care, etc. I’d say they’re off to a great start.
You never mentioned the words "Spatial Computing" which is NOT XR (VR/AR) or entertainment or games. They are extras you get in addition to Spatial Computing. In my case, I have a MacBook Pro MAX and 2 34 inch displays at my home desk. Now, without a major investment in reproducing this environment elsewhere in my house, I can move to a sofa or couch in the living room, to the outdoor porch, or to a family room. I can travel on a plane, train, or as an automobile passenger. WOW !!! THAT is SPATIAL. Of that is not what you need, get a cheaper XR headset.
The real question is if the one terabyte only cost $400 more than the 256K why on earth penny pinch for the lesser product. The worst case is you spent $400 too much. Another hand if you spent up to $3000 and your product is insufficient to do all the things you might want to do what a waste of over $3000.
Vision Pro is about the same price as a lower-storage SKU iPhone 1 w mid-level AT&T service plan, which was mandatory. All 3 of these devices are cutting edge consumer tech and future pillars of Apple’s computing platforms.
So I hope I’m wrong, but you guys mentioning going out in public has me concerned. I’m an early adopter and am getting my AVP on 2/2. I was also quick to get Google Glass, and by the way, that was badAssed. It was way more conducive to being out in public, also because way tiny footprint compared to AVP. Ya. We were shunned. I saw it as havenots becoming extroverts expressing unimfoermed minutia. I’m certain that will happpen again. I personally will spatial compute in my office at work by myself, and at home consuming media. I am so concerned that no one pays attention to history. If you think VP may have a difficult time getting off the ground, don’’t let the public see you in it. Please.
Haha. That’s Derogatory. I heard the same thing when I jumped on Google Glass. I used it until the very end when the apps no longer were supported due to the public outcry. It was so badAssed. But sadly, people had opinions formed and besmirched. I promise you, Not one person buying AVP will use for a week and a half. The 3-D movies are described to be better than the best 3D movie theater, and there is 150 movies alone on Disney + (which equals to $20 a pop, $3000) Watch just a quarter, and you have been already using it for 6 months
You sound salty. I got it because I could, and I love and support this type of technology and want it to take off. I own the oculus rift, quest 2 & 3 etc. If you’re into the newest tech, and can afford something like this, you would have gotten it too.
I’m glad the “It’ll never work” people aren’t designers at Apple, or we wouldn’t have had the parade of great products of the past 25 years. The same criticisms have been leveled at nearly every new Apple product. Then 3 years later they all say, “ooooh I get it now. Well, Apple wasn’t first though” iMac, iTunes Store, iPod, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, Apple Watch, AirPods…literally every single one was initially mocked for its appearance, price, or nerdiness. “Nobody asked for this” is exactly what people who don’t create the future say. The people who bring the future to us have to put up with the endless cycle of getting mocked before they get copied.
Will never get bored of Chance pronouncing Tatooine 😂
I’ll never live this down
Love the no drama approach.
Would love this as an audio podcast so I can listen.
The audio version is being set up now, but it’ll probably be a day or so. After that, the audio version should release simultaneously with the video version going forward. 😎
Welcome to vr everyone . We have been waiting for you !
Great episode! Please check to see if the usb c port in the battery has data capabilities, would be awesome to know if external drives will work
I would love to know that too, because I want to use it for productivity too, if it could replace somewhat my macbook it would be ideal when traveling.
Jeff was my jailbreak sensei back in the days. Glad to see you still doing your thing
Thank you! - Jeff

Is there an ac power option? A lot of planes have power outlet near the seats. .
Yes
Are you going to be on the Podcasts app?
Yes, soon!
Does it support USB data devices?
I don’t think anyone knows yet. We’ll find out soon once the initial reviews drop.
How about "After Hours"?
I like overtime, because we still putting in work. 😜
My last ipad was 2500. This is an ipad replacement and more. If I knew I could wear it for 10 hours it would be an easy buy. In my case I need to know the eye tracking works with my eye condition or the alternative is acceptable.
Dope video 🙂👍. Can you please make a video about how to clear ram on iphone 15 pro max. Have a great day . Cheers from Denmark .
I'm hoping apple will create a vision pro magsafe to usb cable that will allow you to use your macbook as a battery if on a flight.
I am so excited to pick mine up launch 🚀 dayyyyyy
My family members are intrigued as to why the rush to get an eye exam, I just told them I feel as though I only see a limited number of objects in front of me, I need to see more 😂
Great podcast guys
Thanks! -Jeff
For a flight, curious why one would buy extra batteries instead of just plugging it into the charger.
Not all flights have AC power, but if they do that would be a viable option.
Usbc batteries to charge the battery pack is the way to go. I have 2 external 99wh batteries.
Yep, think this is the best route as well.
Planning on porting VStreamer Live on Vision Pro for content creators.
"overtime" definitely a better name
Thanks! -Jeff

I wanna see the two of you talking to each other (split-screen) with FaceTime.
It’s heavy to brittle sized people 😂 better start working out your neck
can't wait
Have any of these guys ever tried VR before?
All of us have...
U get 60 days to add apple care I probably get it with the monthly plan
Looking forward to the frontiers of Spatial Adware
Same :) It's a new frontier. Should be fun.
The guided tour was taken straight from the "Black mirror"
I get my 1Tb on the 3rd . really excited to play around with this thing

My recliner has a usb port built in. I’m good to go. 😊

I passed on it standard warranty would cover that

Jist dont buy the apples version of the case and battery get third party stuff for it duh

In 1984 I bought my first Mac Computer for $2400; adjusted for inflation = $7400. Vision Pro cost ‘half’ what I paid for my first Macintosh.
Vision Pro is about the same price as a lower-storage SKU iPhone 1 w mid-level AT&T service plan, which was mandatory.

❤
Hands down if the AVP was $1500, there would be no doubt!
I bet they would do ANYTHING for Tim Cook
Jeff ran out of time 😂
Jeff didn’t do a good job. Lol
Wait till he gets robbed walking around with a $4500 headset on lol. Not good idea

It’s not something I’d feel comfortable using in public, at least initially. Not just for the safety factor, but for other reasons.
Apple fanboys are something. They'll go out and waste close to $4,000 on a VR headset they'll only use for a week and a half.
Haha. That’s Derogatory. I heard the same thing when I jumped on Google Glass. I used it until the very end when the apps no longer were supported due to the public outcry. It was so badAssed. Anyone who has to do payments to buy this thing. Shouldn’t own it. You can’t afford it!
A lot of snowflakes complaining about the Vision Pro being heavy, this shows how weak most people are.
