Yes! My favorite British Invasion band! The Zombies are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rod Argent, their keyboardist, went on to form the band Argent. Their biggest hit was "Hold Your Head Up". Next, check out some Peter and Gordon, especially "A World Without Love". And then Chad and Jeremy, with "Yesterday's Gone", "Willow Weep for Me", "Before and After", and "A Summer Song".
The thing is they could sing. Everyone's too obsessed with American Idol and similar shows. You don't have to be one of those who can hit every single note in order to sing.

Songfacts: The Zombies recorded this in one take after they won a talent contest at their college called the Herts Beat competition. The prize was a recording session. The group signed to Decca Records, and their keyboard player Rod Argent came up with this song for the session. It tells the story of an alluring woman who won't be tied down to one man - the singer wants to tell us all about her, but he can only use words, since she's not there.
This song is fantastic!!! Rod Argent played the keyboards and the epic keyboard solo. He did Hold Your Head Up in 1972. It's amazing to me how these bands break up and the members form more epic bands. This song is from 1964. That was a great time for music. Thanks for sharing and always being out there.
Dr hook and the medicine show, Silvia's mother (version played on a boat) , cover of the rolling stone. Lots of great harmony. Stoned out their damn minds...
This is an example of why our parents, grandparents, and possibly great grandparents were and are much cooler than we are today. My parents were still in their 20s back then. They worked hard, had cool cars and trucks, raised families properly...and had the best music in all genres.
Love this. Again, thanks for the memories. The electric piano solo is amazing. Rod Argent, who also plays the organ solo on Time of the Season. He later had the hit Hold Your Head Up, with one of the most outstanding organ solos when he went on as a solo act.
Thank you, thank you thank you! The Zombies were one of the greatest Bands of all time. They were inducted into "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" a while back, and deservedly so. These guys came out as part of the so called "British Invasion." Along with the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Eric Burden and The Animals, etc. What a great band with great music, and well thought out lyrics to their songs. Yes, I'm in my late 60s, so this was the music I, and many other "Baby Boomers and Viet Nam vets grew up listening to, along with the other bands of that great music era.

The Zombies had a handful of hits during the 1960s. About a decade ago, the band reunited, and recorded a new album a few years ago. Also, a few years ago, The Zombies were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Here on TH-cam, there is footage of their interview on a CBS morning program (I cannot remember if it was on "CBS This Morning", or on "CBS Sunday Morning"), followed by a musical performance by The Zombies.
I grew up not into 60's music so much; I was all 70's and 80's. Later though I came to love so many of the great groups and songs...The Zombies are amazing..."breathy" vocals and killer keyboards. I was born in '63 ... I can remember as early as about 1967 ... definitely '68. But this is probably the first time I've ever seen them in a video. I used to hear them on the radio a lot. I had a big clunky metal portable Panasonic radio ... I loved that radio. Yeah the 1960s had a lot of things going on, but, I was just a kid.
I took the meaning completely different. I thought the story was about a beautiful girl/woman who was so concerned about her appearance, she had no real thoughts of her own, and/or she was so stoned, "the lights were on, but nobody was home."
The Zombies, one of the classic and class bands from the 60's. Colin Blundstone on vocals and Rod Argent on keyboards - both went onto bigger things later in their careers. "Time of the Season" definitely one of their best songs, and also check out Donovan's "Season of the Witch"
This was state of the art back then...decades before MTV.... we we all very impressed to see this and the like on our b/w tv screens. It was so exciting..
The keyboard player was Rod Argent who went on to form the group Argent after the Zombies broke up in the early 70's. They had several hits as well, Hold You Head Up, God Gave Rock and Roll To You.
I saw the The Zombies perform in 2019 when they were the opening act for Brian Wilson and his band at a casino out in Palm Springs. When they sang this song; (actually this whole album)...they sounded exactly the same....WOW!
Trippiest part of the Zombies (during this version of a zombie apocalypse we're enduring) is that these guys are still playing RIGHT NOW. As in they were inducted into the Rpck 'n' Roll Hall of Fame last year after they campaigned, including three free live concerts (from Germany, I think) on Facebook and probably other platforms. The other required Rod Argent (keyboards) and The Zombies tunes "Time of the Season", "Tell Her No and Argent's "Hold Your Head Up". The Old Masters still rock.
The keyboard player is Rod Argent who was the main force behind Argent, who did "God gave rock n roll to you" (yes, they did the original, not Kiss) and "Hold Your Head Up". The singer is Colin Blunstone, who did "Say you Don't Mind" and "Wonderful".

I remember listening to the zombies they were part of what they called the British Invasion how the early sixties which was started by The Beatles of course! I used to listen to music at night and I would put my transistor radio under my pillow so I wouldn't disturb anybody! And listen to Herman's Hermits, The Dave Clark Five, Peter and Gordon, Petula Clark the animals etc etc etc! You brought back lots of memories! Thank you Jamal stay safe!
In a similar vein: Dave Clark Five.
Bits and Pieces

Thank you love this song reminds me of our flower child days.
It simple life.
Check out time of the season. What's her name who's your daddy is ge rich like me
I was born in '63 ...
Almost certain that is what it is
The Zombies, one of the classic and class bands from the 60's.
Colin Blundstone on vocals and Rod Argent on keyboards - both went onto bigger things later in their careers.
"Time of the Season" definitely one of their best songs, and also check out Donovan's "Season of the Witch"
*Time of the Season* is 🔥
Song is sexy to me for some reason
*WHO’S YOU’RE DADDY* 😏
Colin Blunsworth's voice is sexy.
Blunstone 🙂
This was state of the art back then...decades before MTV.... we we all very impressed to see this and the like on our b/w tv screens. It was so exciting..
damn man..you switch so fast to totally different styles and decades..i truly wonder what your personal favorite bands are..

The keyboard player was Rod Argent who went on to form the group Argent after the Zombies broke up in the early 70's. They had several hits as well, Hold You Head Up, God Gave Rock and Roll To You.
This one's good'n vibey, but Santana's version really cooks!

I saw the The Zombies perform in 2019 when they were the opening act for Brian Wilson and his band at a casino out in Palm Springs. When they sang this song; (actually this whole album)...they sounded exactly the same....WOW!
If you’re going to do another Zombies song it has to be “Time of the Season!” You can’t do this and not that one.
