As for the third item, you are right. Chinese mainland does have a group of workaholics.
But on the fourth, it's obvious that people who pretend they don't understand you
They may not be local people, and they don't know the way at all

謝謝你的影片分享，第一題講到中國人會一直說自己國家好棒好優秀時我有點嚇到，在台灣的情況，以我來說我只會說歡迎來台灣之類的，台灣的好與不好住過以後也就能知道了，應該不用特地強調啦！哈哈
另外一個你講到的情況很多拍影片的人也有反應過，就是在台灣一直遇到台灣人跟他們講英文，但他們來台灣就是想要學中文，這個部分確實我以前遇到不同國家的人來台灣時，我也通常講英文，即使我英文能力沒那麼好，但後來有意識到這個問題時，我現在比較會跟對方先講中文，如果對方需要我講英文時我再跟對方講英文，比較不會打擾到對方學中文的方式，但台灣人對歐美國家對人講英文就只是希望讓對方覺得便利及親切一些，所以這個議題是很棒的議題，謝謝你拿出來討論。
然後現在世界上應該只有台灣跟香港還在使用繁體中文，所以看習慣簡體中文的人來台灣閱讀繁體中文的話，應該會很不習慣，但反過來要我去讀簡體中文也是不太習慣，這部分來說只能說是文化不同的關係吧？哈哈
然後台灣跟中國比起來真的不大，不過台灣也是蠻多屬於台灣特色的景點，希望台灣疫情降級以後你可以繼續探索台灣，會有相當多不同的驚喜等你發現的！

其實當台灣人跟你說英文時 你還是可以回答中文啊 台灣人真的不會介意的 畢竟可以互相交流學習大多數的人並不會感到奇怪或是不禮貌。

基本上服務業都會要求服務員能與外國人進行簡單的英文對話，比較不會英文的店員也會請上級幫忙溝通
但是只要你能開口先說「跟我講中文就行了，我想練習」，那些不會英文的店員也會放心跟你講中文的:)

Me too! I've always tried to learn both, at least to be able to recognize both, not necessarily handwrite both
Traditional characters used to be the writings for China, until they simplified it so foreigners and citizens can learn easier.
Once you are proficient enough in reading most of Traditional characters, understanding simplified characters isn't that difficult by using some guessing and imagination. Yet contrarily this isn't the case if you've only learnt simplified characters.

台灣人普遍樂於協助弱者，不只是對外國人。路上遇到有人問路，我都會帶他到往目的地最直的大路口。（鄉下小路很多，用講的不好講，直接帶去比較快。）我曾經有一個北部的朋友，到南部來找我，他說他下了客運車站，向一位路人問去火車站怎麼走？那個路人就直接載他去火車站。這種事在台灣應該是屬於日常會發生的事，不是只針對外國人。

What it seems to me in China it’s this almost forced patriotism. It’s like the Chinese not all obviously, have to tell you how great and powerful China is. Why do you need to keep telling me how fantastic your nation is? Let me decide for myself.

Hmm, I only partly agree. There is a lot of propaganda and a lot of people there really can’t handle much criticism of their country. But I do believe that there is also genuine pride about their own culture, development and history. I mean, as a European I am just wondering where is the big difference in the indoctrinated patriotism between US and China? Both systems are totally different but from my perspective in both countries people are told how great their country is, flags are everywhere, the national anthem is super important etc. Ofc you can be more critical in the states, but most people appear similarly brainwashed into loving their country. Now when it comes to Taiwan, and comparing it to China….whenever I meet a Chinese, I have never heard from a Chinese that China is No.1 or the greatest country in the world, they just think it’s A Great place one should visit. Often when I meet Taiwanese I am told by them: Taiwan No. 1. People are nice there but they sometimes seem to hype up very ordinary things.
@@dave_5204 There're 2 reasons that why you haven't met a Chinese that keep telling China is No.1 or the greatest country in the world.
1.You have never been to China.
2. Those Chinese you met were awakened from the brainwash of their government, and escaped to Europe.
As a Taiwanese, I shoudn't keep telling our advantages. Our government is also a mess, both of the bigger parties are keep "physically" fighting each others everyday, but this is our advantage,too. We can say our real feeling to our government and will not be worried about getting caught by police. Ofc we can say anything good about our government, but not EVERYTHING. That's what those REAL Chinese do.They only get news which were filtered by CPC, and they will not think by themselves. Take the flood of Zhengzhou as example, even thought their official media report the news that the local government had discharged the flood of the reservoir and never early warned, they still believe all the flood is from the rain. They also have a "cyber-GreatWall" to block all those bad news to CPC, so they need a VPN to visit "out-site". And they will delete all those words,news,songs...anything tells bad to CPC, you can try to post "CPC is bad" in a post on WeChat or Asian sever of TikTok if you dare, I beg you'll get deleted in few days.
@@YGZ I am not sure if it's forced or not. I would say the CCP has done a very good job brain wash job on their poor people. They don't allow different voice.

Nice balanced thoughts you shared with us. I think the reading culture in Taiwan is amazing and quite unique. Eslite is my favourite bookstore. The shift from modern to traditional characters takes time and energy but it makes the language more understandable, logical and meaningful. And though Taiwan is a small place every area got its own unique local flavour. Travelling abroad to nearby places like Okinawa Japan, HK or Singapore is easy and affordable. If you have Taiwanese friends, then political conversations will happen but not about which country is better but bleu versus green party, the performance of mayors, or the relationship between Taiwan and the rest of the world.

講到可以玩的地方，我相信外籍人士一定不知道台灣有一座原始古典的村落"司馬庫斯"，如果想了解台灣的原生文化，你們一定要去走走，但路途相當不容易到達，我光是從山下進到司馬庫斯，就要兩個小時半，找一天給自己請幾天假去住兩天(一定要找台灣人一起去，自己去很危險(環境))，你會愛上那裏的，尤其是他們後山的神木步道，當你跨進神木園區的那一刻，真的會有一種...跨到古代原始的森林的感覺，再加上山區霧水跟陽光，可以說是一個相當奇幻的地方。
然後...在台灣就做自己，最好不少提到中國跟台灣的差別，否則你任何一點對台灣的否定，都會被死忠愛台人士反駁到你對台灣一點好感都沒有。
選擇住台中是一個超對決定，台中往南、往北、往東都方便，地大又平整，交通規劃沒有台北那麼快，卻逐漸在趕上台北的水準，至少捷運跟許多快速道路都連接得差不多，未來會再增加更多，很多香港人移民台灣的首選就是台中。

Another good video #YGZTaiwan. You have done a great job of showing the pros and cons of Taiwan. Unfortunately, it's not in the cards for me to go there this year. The school costs are too much for my kids, but I hope to eventually get the opportunity to travel there.

問路時，台灣人對外國人比較好？我覺得是因為，台灣人看到的是一個需要幫助的人，且我們大部份人都願意幫，而並不是因為你是外國人🤗
以前台灣會英語的人很少，程度也不好，是英語教育年齡越來越小，加上現在真的蠻多國家的人民住在台灣，也鼓勵台灣人要勇敢說英語，才會變成現在這樣😊，以前如果不會講又要麻煩別人翻譯，有時就會失去工作機會，當然也有很多是為了有機會去國外生活，或曾經在國外生活，現在回來台灣工作的，所以就算他們對你講英語，你還是可以回中文，互相練習，反正可以溝通就好啦😂😂😂
工作時數，也是經過長久改革，才變成現在這樣的，以前的上班族也是只有休週日，有時還要加班呢！

哈哈哈遇到店家對你說英文，不過他們也沒有其他意思，只是我們既定印象看到外國人我們就會覺得是不是應該先說英文，但如果你告訴他你想學習中文或是你會說中文，但其實他們都很開心也很樂意和你說中文的，反而你說中文就算沒有說的很好但也會覺得你超厲害噢😄😄😄

有興趣來台南鄉下，很多時候去每個縣市不一定要去城市的景點，例如台南鄉下很多深成旅遊，例如鹽田、七股潟湖、台江內海紅樹林、帶你去抓螃蟹收生蠔等，要有人帶很多縣市可以吸收到不同的知識。這是我的觀點，因為很多人都往市區跑，但我會希望你可以去體驗一些鄉村的文化去DIY做一些美食等等的。往往一些知識都常在鄉村，希望你能去走走
