    I like how you highlight the sustainability and mission of these brands. I like giving my money to brands that make cool things, but also care about the outdoors. Two thumbs up.

      Yeah. For sure. I didn’t know that about PD prior to this video.

    Was an OG adopter on my 11 pro max, but never liked the edges that seemed to cut into my pinky whenever I played Soduko just a little bit too long. Just took delivery of the 15 PM and was looking toward Quad Lock or the UK competitor (forget name now) and realized the setup you're using is the best use case and they rounded off the edges in recent years to make it more comfortable.
    Plan to use mine in combination with the Karoo2 (excellent bright day visibility) for navigation and the phone, in conjunction with my AW U2, displaying my Training Peaks workouts.

    As an e-bike cyclist, I am very interested by the Peak Design concept, but I wish that they made a weatherproof wireless charging version of their bike mounts products : it would help keep the phone battery charged when using it for GPS directions during several hours trip…

    I’m heavily into quad lock. At some point I’m going to make the switch

    • @JoshRomeroYT
      @JoshRomeroYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rick,
      Yeah it’s hard to make the switch if you have several quad locks already. If you don’t use a magnetic wallet or MagSafe charging then I don’t think the switch to the PD system will be all that worth it. But if you are looking to use some of those features then it definitely is!
      Cheers!

    Great video. Wasn’t here for the bike side of things, but it was still interesting and some would translate to other uses for their mounts.

    Great review- I’m an avid e bike rider. I was initially interested in quad lock, but the design of the case and lack of MagSafe didn’t even occur to me. That’s a negative- so I looked into Peak Design and they have the most intuitive and strongest system based off reviews I’ve watched. Design of the wallet is ugly to me though I have to admit haha.
    You’re not wrong- phone brightness in pure sunlight sucks these days.

    Dang this does like the perfect solution for me; don’t have a bike computer and ride more of a beginner amount. Do you need to have a mag-safe compatible iPhone? Or does the case give you the MagSafe capability? If that makes sense/i have an iPhone 11 with no MagSafe built in

    • @JoshRomeroYT
      @JoshRomeroYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Sam great question I believe it would have to be a MagSafe phone but for the charging… everything else should work though as the case has the magnets. It would be interesting to see if it works with wireless charging on an iPhone 11

    What is the bar bag you are using in some of the video clips? Thanks for the great review!

  • @benji2023
    @benji2023 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for all the great videos! Was really considering the quad lock but wasn’t a fan of its case, this seems like a great alternative especially after seeing it really does hold up! Are there any apps you specifically recommend for navigating rides before I invest in a bike computer?

    • @JoshRomeroYT
      @JoshRomeroYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Benji thanks ! Yeah I far as apps go I use a combination of three different ones for different rides/ cases but depending on your needs you might be able to use just one! If I’m just using my phone I use Komoot (map it on my computer and it appears on my phone! Very good app! If I am using my bike computer I will map on my computer using Strava (I’ve had some issues with Komoot maps synching with my bike computer. Finally if I’m going on more of a mountain bike or trail ride I use all trails to navigate on my phone. But you’ll rarely see my phone on my bars then as I tend to fall or throw the bike around. As mentioned on another comment in this video the mount will hold your phone even through a fall but that doesn’t guarantee your phone from not hitting a tree or rock while on the bars!
      Hope this helps
      Cheers !

    Hi there, I was thinking of buying a quadlock but didn’t like its bulky case. I’m glad I found this video. These products seem like an elegant alternative. Do you happen to have an offer code/personal link for Peak Design? I’m definitely considering their gear. Thanks!

    Does the case back magnetic stick on any metal surface??

      it has some magnetism but its not fool-proof for that purpose.

    Looks like the solution for me. Do you think it holds strong enough for trail rides on the Karate Monkey? Not bike park big air, but a 15 mile trail ride, like Fruita…

    • @JoshRomeroYT
      @JoshRomeroYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it will for sure hold it no problem. I personally don’t use it on the KM because I do sometimes fall and or bail and toss the bike which would still hold the phone but then your phone could hit anything hah.
      But without a doubt it’ll hold it when mtbing

    • @thinkdifferent99

      There’s a special motorbike-mount (vibrations!) by PD

  • @DNGR369
    @DNGR369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should begin with: compatible only with Pixel, iPhone or Samsung devices. I'm gonna go with the F3 mount in this case. No pun intended. Rather have 2x cases as 99.9% of my phone use isn't on the bike. Carrying all those cards is ridiculous! Phone wallets r ugly chonk tbf.

    Phone screens have become harder and harder to see in bright daylight?
    Sir, you might wanna go see an optician. Screens have only gotten brighter.

    • @korsveien
      @korsveien 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s because many phone screens has gone from lcd to oled. Oled gives more reflections on the screen.
