No I completely agree, I feel like if I didn't read the lore I wouldn't be so into the story but all the information just makes the world even better ☺️
@@kiki_maliki Exactly, I think it also helps you remember a lot and realize and understand more of the characters. Cuz sometimes it is easier to understand than dialogue. (Not that dialogue is confusing but it's processed different)

The shriek attack in camp is really much much more impactful when you are playing the Dalish Warden (Mahariel) tbh. For... very good and heartbreaking reasons ;)

Feels like you're really hitting your stride with navigating the game! As for group ages, apparently the mage Grey Warden is 'canonically' 18-19 years old (similar to Alistair) but plenty of people agree its more fun to pick your own age.
I think the magi origin is the youngest one Ervin mentions putting you in the harrowing early (he wanted you in the wardens cuz you had INSANE potential) like it think you're somewhere in the 15-18 bracket

btw! If you want to play Dragon Age 2 you need to know the Order of the DLC to play because you will have to port your savegame to Dragon Age 2. This will only work proper if you played in the Right order! After Playing the Main Game, you play Dragon Age - Awakening, after that Dragon Age - Golems of Amgarrak and then the last of, Dragon Age - Witch Hunt. The Dlc "Darkspawn Chronicles" is just gameplay (Play as Darkspawn - No lore at all) The DLC "Lelianas Song" is independent and you can play it anytime! It plays before Dragon Age Origins Lorewise. Have fun! I ENJOY your videos so much!! Best TH-camr in my opionion!

2:31:15 Just to clarify, Sten doesn't need two weapons. He needs one 2-handed weapon, like a greataxe or greatsword (picked up at 2:33:08), which take both hands to wield. His skills are all for 2-handed weapons, so he can't use them with a regular sword
2:13:33 they explain more of this in one of the books/comics (forgot which one, but it's with shale and Wynne) It shows what they do after Origins. Where where they will be after. Also demons and spirits are WAY different.
Black Vials. You missed one in Elven Ruins. Where you met Gatekeeper (the one who talks about parley with the Lady), are rooms to the sides with several chests. One gets you another Black Vial scroll entry.
Wtf I've never heard that comment from Wynne to Alistair about waking up with younger men. Man what theeeee -Y'know, with all your theories at 1:32:00, you're bound to hit the mark. You figured it out with Flemeth turning into a dragon, though your idea 'Do you think she'll knock us out and fling us into the fade?' does happen in the later games heheh. Not with Flemeth, mind you, but I really like those segments -"Leliana!!! What the hell was that?! You are the most hardcore person I've ever met! Leliana, you are a mysterious person! I thought I knew you!" Ohohohoho or diiiddd youuu😶🌫️ ohohoho -It's nice to hear Morrigan call you her friend! Welcome to the sisterhood. It takes a while for Morrigan to warm up to the Warden, but it's so worth it. I love her sm

Regarding the age of the mage Wynne, although I don't know what the average life expectancy is among humans in the DAO universe, if we draw a parallel with the Middle Ages our life expectancy was more or less half of today's. The difference is that there is the element of fantasy and other particularities in this dimension. If a person cannot "cheat" death through supernatural or magical means, perhaps the life expectancy of the average human being is not as elastic as we think.
The game is kind of fantasy medieval and I think 50 was considered to be old back then, so maybe this is what they are basing Wynne's 'old age' on. They were a couple of years off as the Battle of Ostagar takes place in 9:30 and Wynne is 49 at the Battle and turns 50 during the events of the game.

Yeahh I was watching a twitch play through before I found this one and it was kinda annoying when they started chatting about random stuff in the middle of a story moment
You have advanced far enough in your Dragon Age experience to go do Lelisna's Song now. You play as her with her team, it takes about 2 hrs. at most. She starts off at mid level and in Denerim. It is her back story that you play.
I think Wynne had more than one writer because her age is inconsistent. It's just a mistake by the writers. As Loghain is older than Wynne and looks younger. So it's just an inconsistency. Alistair is 20 years old in this game. Human noble warden is 19. That might be the similar for the other origins though there isn't any information on them.
Varathorn, along Herren, Gorim and other merchants will update his list of goods after youcompleted three main quests. In his case it includes two book that grants permanent boni and a backpack. My main incentive not to feed the entire clan to the werewolfs
The camera panning up Shale's butt while Leliana is signing. Just wanting to confirm, Sten uses two-handed weapons (great sword, great axe), NOT two weapons. Dexterity based characters use crossbows and longbows, so Zev or Leliana. Do you have Alatair drinking a health potions at 90%? He's hitting then drinking then hitting then drinking.
Lol don't judge but I remember installing a body mod of sorts in DAO, and let me tell you, it ruined the scene when they showed King Cailan's body in the cutscene. It's like... his thing is just out in the air all stiff and everything (if you know what I'm hinting at). It was hilarious because I forgot I had it in the first place.
Buildings and clothing seems to be based on Middle Age Europe, say XII Century, so assume this for other aspects of the game. What would be the life espectancy in XII Century? Maybe 50 years, thus at 47 Wynne is considered old, nearing her death. However, that doesn't explain the grey hair.
This is a fantasy world, so not entirely comparable. In our world, life expectancy for people who survived their fifth birthday wasn't that low. Infant mortality and maternal mortality were big killers. Healthy, well fed people who had survived those critical challenges could routinely live 65-70 years.

A side note mentions a male of 20 could expect to live 25 more years (max 45), while a woman of 20 could expect to survive 17 more (max 37). However, if someone reached the age of 40, they could likely live for 20 more (max 60).

We have not gained that many years of average lifespan since, we have merely nearly eliminated infant/young child mortality and greatly reduced maternal mortality. Those above working class/ subsistence farmer class, routinely made it to 60-70 if male, or female past her reproductive years.

The original one is that people in their 30's were considered old but this myth has since been debunked. The thing is that it's because of infant mortality which was a lot higher in the past. If you made it out of childhood then you were likely to live a long life. The age 30 - 35 was more of an average age. And this is where people are getting confused. Averages are based on the deaths of the population and then you divide the number by the people involved. This wasn't just about the middle ages but even past that, that this problem of infant mortality existed. It's why many people would have multiple children as many children died young. Even looking at monarchs you see they would try having as many children they could because some never made it but there were people in the past who were in their 70's and 80's too. This has nothing to do with Dragon Age though. Wynne was likely written by more than one person so this is why confusion exists. She is far too young to be talking about her age as if she is too old saying "these old bones". Whoever wrote her game dialogue did not write her age or background. We can see the problem because Loghain is older than Wynne and he doesn't talk as if he is on death's bed. He is still commanding troops in battle. So what we have here is called an inconsistency. Someone at BioWare made a mistake and it got put into the finished product. Her dialogue should not be like that. As for grey hair, you can get grey hair in your 30's and there are people in real life with grey hair at a younger age. We also know it's bunk because there were many people in the past who were old who lived in the middle ages. I too used to believe that myth because that's what I was told. I thought that nobody lived over 30's in the past but that turned out to be false. William Marshal was still fighting battles when he was nearly 70 years old. I read medieval history. You can also check r/askhistorians who do a good job in getting correct information as it's a place for historians to answer stuff. The moderation is tight there so misinformation will get banned. So just remember that life expectancy being lower was durle to higher infant deaths. Many didn't live to see their first birthday or puberty. We also have things such as high childbirth deaths as pressure was on women to have children. Other things such as war, famines and diseases played a role in this as well. However Dragon Age games are fantasy rather than historical fiction. So people in DA are healthier than history and have more advanced medicine.

you completed the quest with the jug, mage’s treasure is the one you disturbed the graves for (you have one left in the forest)
1:42:50, any warrior and rogue character can perform a finisher on a enemy like a dragon, ogre. Just naming a few.
Sten needs a 2 handed weapon and Liliana can use the bow and arrow also the crossbow

Do not give sten 2 weapons it will make is him not be able to use any of his skills
