My drivers side crapped out and I used your vid to replace it and finally found this vid that you referenced in it. Great move to drill using the straw tip. It makes it easier to deal with if you are working by yourself. Although I don’t need to replace the passenger side yet, I am getting prepared with an actuator and viewing your vids. Thanks for the effort.

Very helpful video, thank you for posting it. I just replaced my driver's side lock actuator and your video made it much easier than it would have been!

Thanks for the help man. Couldn't figure out how to get that screw out. Your flashlight also gave me the idea to drill a tiny pilot hole and shine a light threw to see how far off I was. Then by the time I stepped up to 3/8 all the failed pilot holes were gone.

I watched your vid just to see how the lock rod went back in, had my latch assembly upside down, been a couple days since working on it. Driver's side works very well now.

Just a heads up don't need to drill.....just take loose the 3 bolts on the whole locking mechanism at the back of the door and the piece with the screw will come loose and you can move it where you need it. Regardless helpful and informative video!

This is harder than just drilling and unscrewing and removing the acuator.

great also ,, for future use .

I just replaced the same actuator in the passenger door of my Dodge Caravan today. I don't know why you went through the hassle of drilling through the door frame, when all you had to do was remove the 3 screws that hold the actuator assembly in place. With the door open, and standing at the back of the vehicle looking forward, you will see the 3 screws in the door frame. Simply remove them and the entire assembly falls out. You can then easily pull the assembly from the door frame and change the actuator.

I know, right? But now if I ever have to replace it again it's as easy as the other side.

Well how is a person supposed to unscrew the 3 screws to the actuator if the door is closed in locked position. Can't unlock it manually either. Thus I can understand his need to drill hole. I can't seem to find a way to open this door in order to get to the 3 screws.

We did the same thing by taking off the three scews, got it all back together and then closed the door. Now the door is stuck shut. The actuator works, but the door will not open up. Do you think taking off the actuator completely will get the door to open?

Facing same problem my passenger side on a 05 grand caravan. Staying locked position. Door wont open manually. Looks like a lot of work to fix and dealers asking 500.. lol.

Not too difficult, way easier than parting with $500

@@PerfectWindow yes thank you for speedy reply and your video helps. Today's age for older vehicles diy is more easier with help like you rather then dishing out a lot.
1 problem done. Next the oxygen sensor 😂
