Grew up in Columbus, north east side, I-270 and Cleveland Ave area. Moved to Montana 20 years ago. I do not miss Ohio winters or summers. I miss the food options. Don't miss the traffic at all. OH---IO!!!! Buckeye forever!!

Several tax websites detail how Ohio taxes compare nationally, like this website: www.tax-rates.org/ohio/property-tax
It shows Ohio is ranked number 22 out of the 50 states, in order of the average amount of property taxes collected. Let us know if you need more resources!

      Ohio has 88 counties.
85 of the 88 have reasonable/low property tax.
So to get an average, they've taken all 88 counties, added it up then divided what the 85 along with the hideously high property tax in 3 counties.
3 of the counties have WAY higher than average property tax, Franklin, Cuyahoga, Hamilton.
      Franklin is the worst.
Franklin will probably be number 1 in the US for high property tax in Jan 24 because of the reappraisal and the levies that passed. So that number 22 doesn't fit all counties.
All property tax is local, not state.
Going by the state average is misleading.@@liveincolumbus

Yes, this video refers to the central Ohio area, Columbus and suburbs. Of course, the various suburbs will have their unique characteristics.

You must be looking at Franklin county property tax. And you are right, Franklin county has CRAZY HIGH property tax. I have to pay 6000 a year on a 2 bedroom 1 bath house. A neighbor with a bigger house is paying 22,000 a year. January 24, it will be even worse because of reappraisal and levies that passed. Franklin county is on the way to becoming the highest property taxed county in the US.

I have lived in and around Columbus my entire life. (Lived in Hilliard from birth to age 33.) I was born at Grant Hospital and my parents said there was major construction going on that day. They barely got to the hospital in time for my birth. There’s been construction since!😂

Hi Deniece! Yes, always construction, but I guess it means the city is growing, developing and improving!

I lived in Ohio for years in my 20’s and one thing I can say is people take care of themselves WAY more then here in Sonoma County, CA. Ohio girls have their nails and hair did. Here people go to dinner in their pajamas and no one bats an eye. Ohio people people are more LA then LA and I the amount of hot people is stupid but they are nice too.

Haha! Thanks for the perspective! We've always been Ohio girls so it's all we know!
